God the Tron Bonne video was awful. Will anyone do my favorite character any justice??
and @SaintAvi, I love Kyle Hebert, your just too weeabo.
I've said before, I'll say it again: Call me when Deadpool, Hsien-ko and Super-Skrull get these montages. Maybe then I'll actually care about IGN for once.
Ugh... Ryu's English voice. It's mostly pretty alright, except when he says "tatsumaki senpukyaku" that is disgusting. Also "shin shoryuken" sounds ass. From what I've noticed so far, he's got the English voice I like the least in the game. But it's really because of those 2 moves. Even worse than Hsien-ko haha
@7 Lol, Ryu's theme is used for 90% of these videos from IGN. xD
yo is this the Daily bugle theme?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sn9l9S...
(Only thing I have to say about Ryu is I feel sorry for the VO - he has to say tatsumaki senpuu kyaku. ALL OF IT. EVERY TIME!)
Well, Ryu in SF4 sounds like he has...problems, however he seems to have refined his voicework for this game.
I'll still stick to Japanese though, since I've always heard him in Japanese....plus it makes more sense.
Viper improved her voicework too.
The "bye" before the supers is pretty cool.
Despite the fact that the vids are bad (no offense to IGN) it's good to finally see some of the good doctor. Haven't seen enough Doom despite all the vids we've seen so far.
(I'm totally not being sarcastic too, that three hit combo with c. viper was sick!)
Ryu's ENG VA is AMAZING
@2
Lol, only a Japanophile would say that
@19 SteadiestShark
So you would rather listen to jibberish? Just because it "makes more sense" doesn't make his JP voice better, matter of fact, it sounds annoying.
Capcom cast should have stayed in Japanese...but Im glad we at least have the option to change it, It just feels right,but hey that's just me.
@30
Lol, now how about you take a look at the date that video was posted and the date of the game when it was released? ; )
EXACTLY, traditionally, when I unbox games BEFORE their release date, I get a LOT of views. Thats why I did it.
You proved nothing
@28
What kind of argument is that? The entire Capcom cast sounds better in English, I mean, we don't wanna hear WESKER, ARTHUR, HAGGAR, etc. speak jibberish, their English is better and so is the entire capcom cast
@35 RaBBiT
Its the same voice actor, Kyle Hebert. His performance in MvC3 is much improved than SSf4.
@gtfopands
His ENG VA is much better than his JP. Besides, who needs to listen to jibberish when there is already a language you understand?
@39
Then whats the point of hearing it if you don't understand anything? Especially the beginning of the match. His VA isn't bad, what are you talking about? When he's speaking JP, his voice is way too deep and he speaks Jibberish. Even ChunLi sounds like a guy in JP.
Patriotic? I'm not American, heck, English isn't my 1st language.
@ Rambo
How is it better? That's just your opinion, which poeple sure don't have to agree with. I just expressed my opinion there, you can keep on listening to those 3rd world VA.
Also, what exacly do you have to understand in the word "Shinkuu Hadouken"? Oh yeah, probably you're referring to the worthless "show me your strenght" before the fight, lmao.
@LastRambo341
Uhh wait, so Ryu yelling out his movesets is pure "gibberish" if its in Japanese, but not if it's in English? Considering that the English VA Ryu only SPEAKS English during the intro/end part of the battle, you make a pretty bad argument.
Also, saying that an ENG/JP VA is better just because you can understand it doesn't necessary mean the quality of the VA is better than the other. Should be common sense?
Well I'm no Japanophile but Ryu is Japanese, so I left him speaking Japanese. I mostly had usa characters speaking English unless the VA was really good or just better (Hakkan, Vega, Sagat, etc). It kinda felt like Tekken, except that had more than just 2 languages.
I didn't really like Ryu's SF4 voice anyways, though there's a bigger improvement here.
What's the point of hearing if we don't understand?
Well, if you don't know anything about gameplay ambience and atmosphere... I can't make you understand how important it is even if we can't understand what the characters are saying.
Also talking about understanding it's funny when both the Japanese or the English VA are mostly shouting the original names of the moves. "Shoryuken" "Hadouken"... And so on. The difference is that the japanese VA knows how to pronunce it, and the american don't.
also I've been playing a lot of fighting games and they never had english dub....I don't know why capcom started that crap with SFIV...but then again im sure new people enjoy the dubb so I guess capcom was targeting them.
@41 duh, ofcourse its my opinion. And for some reason, the eng va ryu says those japanese words than the japanese va. Also, I like hearing words that I understand.
@42 thats one of my arguments, smarty. The intro and in-game dialogue. Sure he says japanese words, but he says it in a better fashion. Tell that to the japanophiles who bash eng va and think that jp va is the god of va.
@43 lol, just because he's japanese doesn't mean that he should speak it
@44 wel what did u say in the first place?
Cuz the american says it in a better way than the japanese.also the dialogue, I don't wanna hear "bla bla bla"
@47
Japanese can speak English you know. Ryu learned it from Ken.
I got no problem with the eng va as long as its done well. There's a difference between understanding the language and the level of acting. why else can a jp va do Terry Bogard better than the eng dubb. I do prefer sf3 dudley over 4 cause i understand the lines, but I can't stand the eng va.
@49
Thats the thing. The ENG VA is outstanding, but the Japanophiles bash it and say "Oh well, JP VA is better"
@50
We know, but I have issues with that ; )
#51
Yeah thats true. Unlike SF4, everyone here was either originally heard in english anyways (RE, DMC) or no voice at all (Arthur). I'm still annoyed at Akuma's eng va and i was never fond of Ryu's, though its much better here. Whike the jp va does say some lines a little better, it wouldn't be fair when jp va's should know jp terms far better than eng va's.
@52
Lol, I just heard Ryu's Japanese voice in MvC3. Its not good and its pointless to hear. ENG VA is much better. Go Kyle Hebert!
C.Viper! Your Boobs got BUFFED!!
