If you want to skip specifically to the network mode option, it's at the 1:22 mark.
with all these videos floating about I'm surprised some idiot hasn't leaked it into the net yet, they are doing a pretty good job keeping it off.
hey I (ragequitgamingJTV in youtube video comments) asked what the lag simulation does and the uploader replied that it has to do with button input delay depending on the connection sim setting
not sure if you want to add that in there catalyst
Dumbest feature ever!
Why would I want to train under water?
Why? for the one or two matches a day that I will get that are suboptimal?
So now I have to practice a move with no latency, then practice with 4, 3, 2, 1 bars. Thats the only way to be pro, right?
It's f***ing amazing how you guys can be salty that they gave us something like this.
You act like because you're gonna spend 60$, you get to bitch and moan. True fans would be just be excited about the game, but you guys have to act like a bunch of children.
This feature is amazing. Some people ONLY play online, and for those of you out there that do, I hope you're pumped about this.
What's funny, is that 90% of the people who comment will NEVER go to tourney, cause you're all trash. Don't get mad.
Reinforcing #17
It will help you prepare for any situation, no matter if you're online with good connection or bad connection, or offline!
Just be thankful with y'all salty asses!
best thing yet capcom this and a replay feature (Seth Killian said was in there) you can simulate any situation now online and off line which is excellent considering some of us have slow connection speeds so just in case there new internet code dosen't work we still have this nice
P.S. check your gamestops guys mines doing a mid night release
maybe it was difficult for capcom to add recording matches with a 3 on 3 game and its not something you need. this is a very good option though that will help those who play online with a low connection. i dont see the problem of it. just record your fights with a camera to watch them and thats it big deal.
This is a great feature, as there are always those laggy matches. Also, in a way, it's like training with weights. When one removes em, your a lot more agile.
The sodium levels in here are off the charts for a feature that will improve your game...
I guess they figure to add in "Lag training" since the MVC3 netcode will be nothing but 2 bars.
Thank you Capcom for thinking of us players
people are so negative.
This could be handy, i mean i cant do any combos in lag, yet i see people that can. With this feature we can adapt better.
its all good. to bad with the endless, etc.
@#32
latency is always going to be ultimately unavoidable. they can work on the netcode for the next three years straight and there still wouldn't have been enough changes in the basic infrastructure of the online environment as it pertains to fighting games for it to invalidate the use of a tool like this.
@#34
that's silly. no amount of "lag training" is going to change the fact that by the time you're seeing something you need to react to it might already be literally too late for you to physically do anything about it.
@35 How is it silly? If they have the option to TRAIN UNDER LAG, then you should know what to expect when going into laggy room. With this type of training you should atleast be SLIGHTLY prepared for the lag. If not completely taken off guard by how slow the room goes. It seems useful too me
Uh. It's not a theory. Blazblue has really solid netcode and everything, sure. I played it a lot, it was great. It still has latency issues and it's still possible to get really bad matches, though. BB didn't solve the problem of lag, it just handled it better than most.
@#36 it's silly to say that you can "lag train" for circumstances that are impossible to prepare for and thus never have any reason to be able to blame lag for your loss. I'm not saying the feature is silly, I'm saying the way you phrased it was silly. Yes, this feature could help you be better aware of what to expect in a low-bar match, but it won't solve all the problems that come from high input lag. Lag will still cause issues that you won't really be able to do anything about as a player.
Not to mention, the feature doesn't really account for all the factors that contribute to a sluggish connection between two players. All it does is add frames of input delay to all your actions. That's not the only consequence of playing people online. You can't prepare for lag spikes or temporary drop-outs or variable lag or tons of other nonsense.
@#42 "not a single second of lag"
lol. besides how stupid that sentence sounds, you do realize that input lag generally happens in the range of as little as 1-3 frames and that an inexperienced player probably wouldn't even notice even if there was lag? do you also realize that Blazblue has a feature that repeats inputs for several frames upon hitting the button which means that even if there was 3 frames of input lag, you still wouldn't miss the link as long as you hit the button within about 5 frames of the correct range?
What I'm saying is just because you weren't aware of it doesn't mean it wasn't there. In fact, I'm pretty sure you have no idea what you're talking about. Again, Blazblue handled it very well, but that doesn't mean it eradicated it.
@4 Don't worry about that, you will only find those in FPS games online.
@8 Capcom doesn't think so,and there the ones who "MAKE" the games, not you.
@11 Yeah, capcom is real lazy for giving the fans a game that they been asking for over 10 years...
@26 As much as i like kof 12,i doubt that, since it's a newer game and all.
"@8 Capcom doesn't think so,and there the ones who "MAKE" the games, not you."
why is make in quotes? also it's "they're".
anyway capcom only gets to "MAKE" these games because we buy them, jackass. the consumer's role is to demand what they want and Capcom's just is to provide it. this resolves itself when what is provided and what was demanded are satisfactorily similar. that's how the relationship works. corporations aren't doing us a favor by taking our money. there's no reason not to have standards and expectations as a consumer.
@#47
it's not slow motion training. it just adds input lag.
do none of you guys understand what input lag is? everyone seems to only think of lag as "that thing that happens when the match gets really slow and choppy like a bad youtube video." that's not the only way latency issues manifest in a fighting game match.
This connection feature is pointless. One cannot predict how many spike lag will happen during one match. The only thing I can think this feature is useful for is if they decide to have a online evo tourney for this game. Then it's a good training tool. Other than that, I don't see a important feature. Maybe Capcom had some extra RAM or memory to burn and this is the best addition they can think of haha? Who knows.
In causal play, imo, I don't think people will play against people with bad connections. Connections of players are posted before you accept.
@analogos Ummm, how do YOU know what it does? Do you own he game or something? You're a reporter that has the game before everybody else does? Did you help create the game? I would like to know how you know this even before the game has been released?
@analogos
It was a way of saying it, it's supposed to sound stupid so that anyone can get it right away. What really matters is that you got exactly what I meant. So, it's not as stupid as it sounds. Far from that.
And I'm completely aware of what lag is and how it "works". Thanks for the useless basic info that I know for years by now. Everything that I said here is still right about this feature and about Blazblue. Thanks
@#53
people have the game, and the feature has been known since before this video. "bk4revenge" isn't a publication, it's an individual.
@#54
fighting games were dead for almost a decade, cvs. I know you're probably 12 and have no concept of what was going on back then, but there wasn't really the market for an undertaking of the sort that would've been appropriate to the magnitude you're thinking at the time. it happened now for various reasons, but if you think the market had nothing to do with it you're sorely mistaken and incredibly naive.
regardless, I didn't say it was just for the money. I'm aware of the fact that there is passion behind this project. that doesn't change the fact that it has to be successful and that the game was designed with that in mind. videogames are a business. the customer's wants are pretty important in a business.
#51 exactly, im suprised Capcom went this far to include such a mode. It shows they really thought out as much as they could. I am more impressed by the changing Assist modes so you don't have to go to the character select screen.
Training mode really is your personaly danger room.
@#56
ok dog yr rite. blazeblue totally solved the problem of lag forever and there is 100% no lag in the game whatsoever and every other developer is intentionally ignoring the fact that arcsys cured cancer and are purposefully making games with bad connections. sorry for not seeing what was so obvious.
btw now that we've got this all cleared up can you do me a favor and go over to dustloop.com and let them know that blazblue solved the issue of lag forever and has no lag whatsoever? I'm sure they'd be really thrilled to hear it but I don't have an account there. thanks!!!
@#59 "I am more impressed by the changing Assist modes so you don't have to go to the character select screen."
yeah that's so sick. really huge ups to them for that one. there isn't even any loading or anything when you switch them, and you don't have to restart the "match". it's just instant. really impressive stuff.
The game isn't released until next tuesday, how do you have the game without it offically being released? The only people who would have the game are people who do reports and reviews on video games, and probably the people who actually work at video game stores. Does this apply to you? And I haven't heard anything about this feature being in this game until now. Did anybody else know about it?
@#64 InitialR, do I really have to explain to you precisely how some people have the game already? Seriously?

The most truest comments I've ever read on here, no sarcasm intended.
Fighting game fans are worse than Sonic fans almost... Just almost... Nah, who am I kidding. Capcom Fighting fans are about as bad as a lot of Sonic fans... (Mind you I'm saying that about my self, even though I'm still excited about this game, considering August is coming up in six or seven months! ^__^)
I'm happy this is in! That means I can deal with sitting in a comfy chair and the lag input goes in!
Thel lack of replays or spectating sucks but they were running into a lot of snags during development like legit 6 player battles and Frank West's summons and whatnot so I'm not trippin' about it. It happens. This feature is pretty cool though. Definitely a new standard for evolving the training mode options.
Last thing people, CHILL OUT! Some of you guys need to not buy this and get your prescriptions paid off instead. Screw your egos. All in due time and none of these posts are relevant.

They have the right to complain... Freedom of speech.. Get over it
lol they just pretty much said "theres gonna by alot of lag online, but at least we'll let you practice with lag"
lolwut? oh Capcom......
#17
All this white knighting needs to stop... Everybody dont have to like everything you like... I think the internet lag simulation option is stupid as well.. One, who wants to play online through a lag anyway? Why bother put that in? Is Capcom telling us that it's going to be lots of lagging... Are their servers that bad? Questionable, unneeded feature in the game.. THAT IS JUST MY OPINION... Dont like it, who cares..
Promoting online play for any fighting game=LAME and NOOBISH
get to a tournament then you can talk. It's a reason the best online games are FPS,Racing, and Real Time Stratgey games. Fighting=bottom of the list. Capcom you basically telling the noobs stay at home and don't play insted of actually going to EVO and any other tournamnet
The best online games are racing FPS and real time Strategy games? In what world do you live in bro? And i'm not complaining, I actually like the feature, what I want to know is how does this guy know all of this information without even owning the game. He hasn't backed that statement up yet on how the Lag training works.
I'd ignore all the hate. People will never be satisfied. The people complaining are the same people that were screaming "BAAWW I SUCK AT SSF4 SO I'M GOING TO DROP IT FOR MVC3 BECAUSE IT'S SO GARBAGE BAAWWWW HERP" and now are screaming "BAAAWW MVC3 ISN'T EXACTLY HOW I WANT IT SO IT'S SUCH A TRASH GAME, NITSUMA IS SUCH A RAGING FAN HATING BUTTMUNCHER FOR NOT HAVING MY EXACT FAN ROSTER AND THE GAME DOESN'T PLAY LIKE I TOLD HIM TO MAKE IT, SCREW MY LIFE I'M GOING TO GO CUT MYSELF, DERP". Grow up kids. Either buy it or don't buy it, I'm tired of hearing your 12 year old selves whine.
@#78 and #77
No, Capcom is not telling is there will be a lot of lag, Capcom is telling us that they understand how the internet works and know that it's impossible to have 100% connection with everyone, regardless of how good they make the netcode.
Especially with the poor internet infrastructure countries like the US have (yes, the US has VERY bad internet). There will always be some people you lag against, and they added this option so that you can adjust your timing easier for when the time comes. Sometimes people can pull off combos offline, but when they get online the timing for them is all wrong. This helps you practice your timing under many different circumstances.
LOL BUT IF THEY JUST HAD GOOD NETCODE THEY WOULDN'T NEED TO HAVE THIS OPTION CAPCOM SO INCOMPETENT! xD
I'm not even white knighting. I personally would have liked if they used their resources to implement spectating and replay functionality before putting this in, but I at least acknowledge that it has its uses and in no way says Capcom isn't confident in their netcode.
I hope the training option will have "rage quit" option. :)
Also a Ryu at Daigo level ("really angry" like the commentarist said in the famous evo moment 37 video).
XD
This is very stupid. Lag will defer from person to person. So there's no point in practicing the very slight input delays for the few matches you will get. It's better if you just practice offline, and then adjust while playing online. I'll bet no one will even use this feature besides playing around with it for 5 minutes.
I agree with the few people here that would much rather have spectator mode. Capcom wasted their money on a useless feature.
#84
"Dont like it, dont buy it" scenario doesnt accomplish anything... If I feel like a company is NOT doing their jobs, then I AM THE RIGHT TO COMPLAIN ABOUT IT... IF YOU LIKE MVC3, then buy it. Why get pissed off if somebody else doesnt like it? MIND YOUR BUSINESS... PLAY MVC3..
Internet Lag Simulation, huh? That is so GDLK!
