In case you're wondering, the battle with Galactus isn't as simple as fighting the purple behemoth himself. When you first reach the final stage, Galactus can't be bothered with your meddling. He's hungry and would rather focus on having lunch (read: an Earth is the main course). Instead he creates not one but two Silver Surfer-esque heralds, which are metallic versions of villains from the game, like Dr. Doom or Dormammu. The best part? You have to fight both at the same time.
Fortunately the two heralds share one health bar, so with a bit of skilled execution, dispatching these two should be no problem. If it is, you're in trouble, as Galactus will swoop down on you immediately once his two lackeys have fallen.

I'll pass and just get my CE money back for this button masher...may buy when it lowers in price but $60 ($70 for CE) is way too much for game.
Galactus is tougher than Apocalypse, Cyber-Akuma, Onslaught, Abyss, and Yami combined!

Aside from the fact that I've seen Galactus about a zillion times prior to now, I'll continue to say he was a great villain choice for the final boss and he looks fun as hell. Not as cheap as advertised. I didn't even think Abyss was that bad.

@NoizyChild yes I am in the minority as I never liked MVC2. SNK bosses are much harder than the final stage of MVC2, but not really interested to try to beat it. Im sure if you have any proof that youve beaten the game that youve been playing it for 10 years. I cant stand the music for that game!!!!!

Onslaught was bad, but there's a pattern to him. I couldn't figure out a pattern with Cyber-Akuma. He was just a really quick, strong, douche.
LOL@ MVC fangirls...this game will not meet expectations guaranteed! It was just more popular because it was a true button masher to win kinda game so more people were into it....same reason SF3 and CVS2 weren't as popular because you cant just randomly mash and move stick to win in those games.
i know it probly does, but does this game have some sort of private match system? uno, like endless/team/tournement battle in SSF4, something u can invite ur friends to.
Im 100% sure Cashcom will add all the Fantastic Four members and Silver Surfer for $5-10 a piece and may even have a 5k unlock key for them like costumes in SF4....And the sheep will buy buy buy!

Just superjump and hit him with high aerial combos and Hypers. Giant fighting game bosses with super armor are much easier than deliberately overpowered normal characters with tough AI.

Anyways, it's funny how people want ALL FOUR fantastic four members in a 3-on-3 fighting game. Be glad you have Super-Skrull kids. I happen to think he's an awesome addition to the game.

It seems like a lot of people are assuming that there will only be 2 more dlc characters, I'm hoping there will be more. After all, nitsuma talks about how they're still discussing dlc candidates and whatnot, and with Frank West, Phoenix Wright, Bison, CapCom, Gene, and X all in high demand, it seems like they'd want to put out as many as possible for max profit. Maybe it's just wishful thinking on my part...

I find it a bit weird that a game like this has less characters than a game like Tekken 6 (which is a 1-on-1 fighter). and overall, i'm OKAY with the roster. We're gonna be getting vanilla version on the 15th (17th in other areas), so its safe to say that we can expect alot of updates, patches and character additions soon after.
Though personally, I think there will be 3 sets of DLC (including Jill and Shuma). No reason, really. just a guess. 42 seems like a solid number of characters for this game. If we get too many characters, it's gonna be Marvel 2 all over again)
@49 Well, the game was built from the ground up... 3-D models and all... Tekken already had models to work with so it made things easier... Also, a good handful of characters in MvC2 were clones of each other so if you subtract the clones, the roaster would probably be around 46 or so.
Agreed about the exclusion of all the fantastic 4 characters. I think Super-Skrull was designed perfectly to have aspects of all 4 fantastic 4 characters. What a great way to represent them with a unique style IMO.

Because Tekken has one-on-one, it's easier to balance. The only reason the crossover series are so hard to keep balanced is because of the assists system and all the consequences that go with a super-meter.

@52: Regarding the balancing issues, We did get T6 vanilla. That was unbalanced as hell. They added patch upon patch to make sure they'd fix it. then we got BR then we got patches for that as well.
Gotta agree that a crossover's harder to balance. (I'm really a Tekken buff. Crossover newbie) there's just too many things happening at once.

You obviously haven't seen the instances where a large portion of the members immediately discredit any fighter that isn't made by Capcom.

Why not add more characters that never been in a crossover game? I can see maybe 46-52 characters in all at the max.

i know some people say it would be easier to make some characters than capcom says it is, but its rather hard.
i mean yeah i would have liked to have seen iron fist and black panther and other characters make it in, but looking at them closely, some of them wouldnt make it out of the suggestion box because they would act like other characters
I notice too many complaints about Capcom being lazy, not including an appropriate herald like Surfer. Being that Doom and Wesker are the major villains (or at least the main plotters), Surfer's powers were probably stolen from him... yet again.
Regardless of why he wasn't included, Surfer might of at least worked as a non-playable sub-boss character though. That would avoid all issues and balancing with him in a fighter.
I'm happy with the challenge cause the previous bosses we're easy.
I just wish that Galactus would've summoned Heralds like Silver Surfer or Terrax or Stardust for this fight. Maybe even Dazzler. Would've been way more epic.

(IMO if they had Surfer as a sub-boss, he'd be unlockable(and playable).) Galactus isn't going to be playable obviously, and Capcom seems to want all their chars playable nowadays(probably because they're gettin' more milage out of the chars that way).)

I have to say im actually impressed by how the boss fight is gonna be. He looks so big and intimidating. Also fighting two enemies at once? Ok thats like a reversal Dramatic Mode from Alpha 2 and 3.
I think im gonna crank teh difficulty to the highest when I play through Arcade to make the experience worth while. Also the fact that Galactus is the boss really makes me want Thanos in the game so much. He was one of the only Marvel boss characters I could care at all about. :(
It's awesome that it's gonna mix up which metal villains you have to fight before you match Galactus himself (Wolverine definitely fought Akuma in that video). I wish they could implement a dramatic battle mode where it's 1v2, but hey, I'm not gonna whine about it.
I hope we get this stage with galactus in the background. That would be dope.
