Updated again: Marvel vs. Capcom 3 playable at Best Buy

Updated again: Capcom's Christian Svensson recently confirmed that some Best Buy locations will start putting up a playable versions of Marvel vs. Capcom 3 in kiosks. Here's the 411.

Are Best Buy stores really going to have a playable version of MvC3?

Svensson: Yep. Best Buy Xbox 360 interactives will have Marvel vs. Capcom 3 in them for 3-4 weeks starting quite soon.

We would have loved to have had them at GameStop too, but it wasn't an option unfortunately.

Earlier: Some Best Buy stores are setting up kiosks running a Marvel vs. Capcom 3 demo for people to check out ahead of the release date, although according to multiple reports, most of these won't be ready until Monday or Tuesday. You can look on the official website here by punching in your zip code to see if there are plans for a kiosk within 50 miles of your location.

Some players have reported that although a location may have a kiosk listed, it might not be setup, so it's recommended that you call before heading out.

this is crazy if they can have a demo for Best buy why not have one Down-loadable for the PS3 and X-box before release? I know it will be out in 9 days. There is so much hype that many will swarm to some of these locations if they are out there.

I searched through Best Buy's see-if-there's-one-at-your-location thing, and it just brought up my store's number and address. It says nothing of whether it's actually at the store of not. You're really just searching best buy locations.

Anyway, after mine popped up, I decided to chance it and head to my store. Nothing.

I work at Best Buy here in Rhode Island. When look up and try to see if it's at the store you are looking at it just takes you to the stores page (as mentioned by Otter_of_Death). Those pages usually NEVER get updated unless that store has a GM change. So it's best you call instead of looking it up that way.

The list is for stores intending to have kiosks running the game sometime between now and March. They're not all going to be immediately available right now.

Truthfully I wouldn't bother calling Best Buy until Monday anyway. More often than not they're lazy about these kinds of things, and the fact that its Super Bowl Sunday (and they close early on Sundays) isn't making matters any better.

Apperantely NO Best Buy store has the game for demo yet, I know I checked our inventory.

Best Buy website advertised the demo too early and it sucks because no store has gotten the new Gaming Promotional Ad Set yet.

I'm really hoping we get the demo in tomorrow since there is no shipping today and I work tomorrow morning so I'll definitely be at a constant look out.

It does suck that it will be a 360 display, but 360 displays are known for having the Full game on display, its the PS3 displays that only display demo versions of the game.

I let everyone know if we got the display tomorrow and Tuesday. "

Don't get your hopes up quite yet. 99% of Best Buy visits have turned out fruitless. Including mine D':

Lol! Based on reading all the comments, this seems like a super inside tip. Every best buy seems to be clueless and the game comes out very soon. Maybe this next week will be when they find out. Either way i will be blowing up my local Best Buy's phone during the week.
