Yoshinori Ono had a very enlightening interview with GamesRadar about the 3DS version of Super Street Fighter 4. This starts off by covering the ins and outs of the 3DS, how easy it is to code for, etc., but it moves into more familiar territory, explaining how the game was developed and why it didn't have Arcade Edition content included.GamesRadar: The 3DS version isn’t just the disc version of Super SFIV – it’s also the costumes and tweaks that have come via DLC since the console release. If these changes were included, why weren’t the Arcade Edition additions (like Yun, Yang and Evil Ryu) implemented into this version?
Ono: It was largely down to timing. The development of Arcade Edition and SSFIV3D were simultaneous for large portions, and on top of that we didn’t have a lot of time to mess around with a lot of debugging, so we wanted to find a stable, already proven game to start with for our port. We knew Super was out there performing well, the balance isn’t broken and so on, so we knew that would be safe.
That doesn’t necessarily mean this is the end-all version for the 3DS – if it looks like people are interested, we could look into augmenting the game with Arcade Edition features. But once again, the timing did not allow for us to have AE on the platform at this time.
Translation: "It's precisely because we already put those added costumes in; There's currently no DLC for the SSFIV 3D edition! To rectify this situation, we decided to hold back on the Arcade Edition content so we can make money from you later with it, instead of the costumes. =D"
LOL, not really, I know...
the last sf game on a portable was alpha 3 i think. thats so long ago
Personally, I don't really care about the lack of AE stuff. The game is good enough as is.
the 3ds comes out in march here, AE unlock-ables aren't out until late spring early summer(allegedly). even the 2 that were unlocked were asked to be RELOCKED. having them in the 3ds version would make capcom crying poinless
and @ 1: people complained about the ps3 price and still bought it. people bought the psp as well and it was 50 bucks more than the 3ds is. the psp2 (that NPG thing is dumb)will cost way more than the 3ds unless sony wants to take a hit again. so complaining about the price itself is also moot because if you are going to game on a handheld you're going to be payng 250 and up.
I for one will probably own two 3ds, the 1st gen and the last gen versions respectively. because that just how things seem to go with me and nintendo handhelds
Ono: I haven’t played a PSP game in a while, so I can’t talk specifics.

Hahaha, I love that!
The 3DS is so expensive, it's almost a moot issue as far as I'm concerned. AE content included would have been cool, though.
