Well, I just found my new euphimism for masturbation
(One Handed Combo)
Most of the videos he posts I don't watch for the gameplay... just the music. :D
@ScytheWP
I doubt he was concerned by the fact that he used two hands for that second on the combo because he probably figured that people would overlook it seeing as how every single other combo he pulled off was with one hand. He could have easily not have posted it in the first place.Thanks for being that guy to point it out.
@14
well yeh it does....if you dont like desks vids becuase its just impractical shenanagins, don't watch them
Awesome. Precise motions. Well done DESK! S++++++
WTF MAAAAN, i cant do that shneeze! Well , off to practice i guess, no reason to whine
@#9
You have tool-assisted combo videos that demonstrate the limits of what can be done on a purely technical level. Many of desk's videos simply broaden our notion of what can be achieved on the physical level. Two sides of the same combo video coin, really. Not to mention tons of desk's stuff manages to achieve the former at the same time or is inventive or illuminating on a mechanical level as well.
If you're not interested in fighting games on a mechanical level I really don't know why you'd bother watching anything except straight up competitive match vids. I mean I usually don't pull the LOL IF U DON'T LIKE IT DON'T WATCH IT AND DON'T COMPLAIN!!! thing, but that's pretty much what you've set yourself up for. If you don't see the merits of what in fighting games exists on the fringes of practicality there is just literally no reason for you to hold a combo video to any sort of expectations or standards either. SRK has all the combos you need for every character written out fairly plainly. Get to it.
...next video he'll be doing it all with his left hand.
...and THEN he'll be playing two different people at the same time.
(and people STILL wouldn't be impressed)
I don't like the video either. I am not trolling.
I enjoy informational/strategy type stuff. I don't like these self-masterbatory pointless vids. To me it isn't news and it isn't helpful.
Do it one-handed in a tourney and then i'll be impressed. Be armless and do it with your feet and i'll be even more impressed.
@31: Yeah man I'd rather see him put a song together. =P
I'm just going to step in and say a couple things, then resume my usual lurker status.
1. These videos he makes...well, no one is asking if you like them, hate them, love them, need them, want them...he just makes them for those who can appreciate it. That they get posted elsewhere is not up to him, though I am sure he appreciates the hits.
2. People will really hate on anything if someone is displaying a unique talent/skill that they themselves probably lack. He isn't getting paid for these things (AFAIK), so just that he's contributing to the community with videos that are well edited, interesting and consistent is more than any of you reading this will ever do. Not impressed by Chun-Li's Lightning Leg combo loop? Make a video yourself of something more impressive.
3. Desk obviously has execution superior to a lot of SF players, so to see him do things in an unusual way is interesting for those of us who can't manage to do the things he can under normal circumstances. I challenge anyone to perform a longer combo than Desk's Lightning Legs loop or beat his arcade score. Honestly, I hope someone does. It might give him motivation to top himself again.
4. He is trolling you haters and I love it. Every video he makes is just further proof of just how good he is and just how much you hate that. If you don't like the videos, that's fine. That's one thing. If you say they're uninteresting, not impressive, boring, stupid, useless, pointless, you are trolling. Honestly, I don't know why anybody comments on EH when everyone knows the troll/scrub to not-troll/scrub ratio is ridiculous.
5. I'm glad EH, SRK, IPW and other SF related media/news sites aren't run by the majority of the SF fanbase so we can continue to highlight people in the community who actually contribute back. As long as they continue to ignore the haters, as there are many, we should continue to receive content like this.
uhm....
wow
