Nice like the way the video was edited. So HYPE for this game to come out already
good video for beginners, but a lot of those combos were not true combos because the counter reset.
Great video, but it would have been nice if they had shown the button inputs. It didn't really teach new players anything. It just showed them what they COULD do, but not actually how to do it.
This may be my bias for playing so long, but... How is it ppl don't know what's going on onscreen?
Yeah, no one had any idea of this after the 1000000000 gameplay videos released up to now.
And yes, I know I could just not come to Eventhubs, but I like to come here for the variety of news about fighting games... But all this MvC3 footage spammed here doesn't make any sense anymore. It's boring right now. Specially when they could easly release the game today. But they don't. And we will have have to wait.
The time posting the same MvC3 sh-t repeatedly for an entire month could be used to put effort on interesting stuff. Like the HD costume color guides for SSF4, that this website started to doing but stoped for no reason.
LOL at how when they try to show some longer combos most of them don't even connect. Combine that with the fact that people completely new to the series or fighting games in general probably think they were full combos, and this guide isn't really that great. Good presentation with the text in the video though.
@10
You have a point, I think we should get back on track with the guides, but MvC3 is hot it's been highly anticipated so there's not much too expect.
It'll get there.
Hey Capcom where is my copy so Gouki.com can Review the game? I do reviews, I could review this. I'm annoyed seeing this game in the hands of so many. Why bother buying the special edition if the whole world is playing the game before you even get to touch it. Can you tell I'm mad? lol.
Awesome teaching!
Somethings bothering me though, after watching this I realize that nothings wrong with ryu, what is this crap I'm hearing about him being horrible?
@8
It is your bias.
The most common thing I hear when showing this game off to my non fighting friends is "Whoa cool. Wow, what the hell is going on?"
And this video is more about explaining whats going on on screen than how to actually do combos, and it does help to see all the action divided into parts and explained. Hell, I have a friend who's into Street Fighter and still didn't get what was actually going on in the gameplay vids until I showed him this. Think about it, you see like 5-6 different things popping off at once, four characters on screen, and you don't know what an assist is or what they're for, and you don't quite understand how the combo system works, or the team system in general. All you know is how cool those lasers and explosions look. To a newbie, this is all a fireworks show.
So this is a good video, and helpful for people who are left confused by the manic action on screen.
I've played the CES build and it won't take long for beginners to start doing huge combo's. If you found the combo's in SF4 too hard, then you will probably prefer the MvC3 combo system. The thing that may be challenging at first is the speed.
It's explaining the magic series in short summary. It's more designed to give an idea of why all these crazy events are happening. The buttons are pretty self explanatory anyway for any basic player. This isn't designed to be a tutorial so much as an intro to the events that occur in game to help clear things up for players confused by the system. More info is needed ,but it serves it's purpose well.
@19
So it was just a bunch of wussy's shunning? Wow
@ Pwn_Star
If something calls itself a tutorial, I'm going to treat it like a tutorial. This was not a good tutorial.
Terrible tutorial video is terrible.
Yea it looks pretty, but there's really no substance to it. It doesn't teach anything that you wouldn't learn after spending like 5 minutes with the game.
Just wait until the game comes out and there will be plenty of video guides on how to play the game that'll be much more informative than this rubbish put out by some gaming site who thinks they know better than this community (and hopefully it'll be these videos that will be posted on Eventhubs)
@ Fabfred
Fake. So clearly his animation from SSF4.
@10
Wow, look at this... Some nobody asking for so much from a game that isn't even officially out yet. When new stuff is brought to the attention of Catalyst, it will be posted. In the meantime, go complain to the people who pirated this game to post videos on YouTube just for you. I'm sure they will be more than happy to listen to your every demand.
@29
Yep. They think they know better than us because they're trying to explain the mechanics of this game to new players.
Honestly, instead of complaining about something that doesn't even apply to you (unless you're a beginner, which I note you're not), you could be watching a more stimulating video for your skill bracket. Of course it wouldn't take that long to learn this after a few minutes with the game, but the game isn't out yet, and not EVERYBODY is as quick to learn as an even marginally experienced Vs. series player.
Oh and it's not a tutorial. It's an explanation of mechanics.
i play all fightin games as a kid and one thing i couldn't do was a air combo in mvc2 do i need a fightstick for this game everyone sayin its pad friendly or no cause if so i just save my money on gettin a fightstick and get my mk9 asweell as my Special edtion mvc3
I loved the vid. Sure it isn't a tutorial but thanks to this, I got an idea on how the game goes.
#29 i agree this video teaches you nothing important
I don't understand how people not get what's going on when it's just one person doing a combo like the beginning of the video. Sure, maybe when a buncha assists are coming in from both directions and both players are launching combos left and right, but other the example in the beginning is pretty straight forward about what's going on.
(Ok, so srs question - when it says 'continue your combo, does that mean it resets the magic series for every char you switch? so like you can do all of one char's magic series(except last hit of series) then switch to another char? So you can get like 14 hits(plus hyper) just from launching your opponent?)
@31 there is not a single pirated copy on the internet available, otherwise there would be more videos up.
Its nice of them to show at least the basics however, since I've never played TVC, It would be nice to know what they mean by light,medium, heavy attack. As far as I know it wasn't anything like that in MVC2 where they had basically 4 attack buttons and the 5th and 6th button were used primarily for assist attacks etc. At least from I remembered.
So what is the control model then?
@50
In TVC and in this, instead of having 4 attack buttons (lk lp hk hp), you have three, all of which can be either punches or kicks, depending on what move you do. In TVC, the fourth button was the tag/assist button (back + tag would tag you out, tag by itself would call an assist). In that game, it was two on two, so that worked, but in mvc3, I think both assists have their own button and the tag button only tags you out. But I don't remember to a certainty.
actually its easier to see then mvc2 there was way too much happenin when u had someone spammin assists and what not else but this looks soo much easier to read moves and perdict and play aswell looking foward to it soooo much can wait hopefully psn wont suck if not ill always have my trusty live to get me through although i really on play on live anyways ma ps3 collects dust
@51 yeah your pretty much correct
light Attack, Medium Attack, Hard Attack on top....
Launcher, Assist 1, Assist 2 on bottom
The combos are for the most part similar to TvC, things change when you start launching combos, activationg X factors, and doing team exchanges ect. But the basics are similar to TvC, at least in combos.
This is a fantastic watch! Things seem to be in perspective now... at least a little more :-D
