A Spider-Man vs. Zero Marvel vs. Capcom 3 showdown spotlight is up on Marvel.com, written again by the always informative Sumoslamman. Spider-man's Play Style: Spider-Man is all about getting up close and personal and he has a multitude of ways to close the distance and apply pressure. You can use his Web Zip to get in close and it can be cancelled for surprise attacks. His Spider Swing helps immensely in block strings and beefs up his already impressive pressure game; it can be comboed into and out of for some awesome punishing/pressure power. And when your opponent jumps to escape your spider smackdown, use the Ultimate Web Throw, an unblockable grab that catches airborne enemies, for huge damage!
Zero's Play Style: Zero has some sick normals that hit multiple times, are special-cancellable and lead to very big damage. Because of these multi-hit normals, Zero has a surprisingly efficient pressure game. He also has a host of projectiles that help to balance out his arsenal. Once you get in, you can launch your foe for big damage, use his X-Buster to relaunch, and then destroy with a hard-hitting OTG hyper.
I love you Spidey, but your webbing stands NO chance against the Z-Saber and Z-Buster. Kinda one-sided, especially since Zero almost single-handedly destroyed the whole damn world before the events Mega Man X1.
I love Spider-Man, but Zero looks to be shaping up as one of the overpowered characters. I don't think he'll win this one.
I still think Spider-Man is way cooler though.
RANDOM ASS QUESTION:
..and only because this is how I use to pick characters when I was a youngun. If you could pick your team based on how their moves looked alone, who would be on it?
For my money, it'd be Super Skrull, Spiderman and Doom. Those just look cool to me, artistically speaking.
Spidey's Level 3 just looks too nice.
I am Zero, I am bad@ss even though in 3d I look like I belong in a recent sonic the hedgehog game.
@The Wrist
What is Spidey's level 3? Have we seen it yet.
Flippin' replace the period with a question mark. I thought Crawler Assault, Ultimate Web Throw, and Maximum Spider were are all Level 1 hypers.
@18 and 19:
you may be right. Nonetheless, Maximum Spider is the one I was referring to. That's some nice animation.
So, yeah, for those that played SFII in the pizza joints back in the day, I chose dhalsim cuz of those cool normals. Nothing else really mattered, really. I figure I'm gonna leave a spot open on the team for this reason alone, how cool they look.
Hard to choose, but Spider-Man's more my playstyle.
Zero is great and all, BUT WHAT IS HE FIGHTING FOR!!!
good read i cant wait to test out zero and everyone else anyone wana practice add 510 to my name and were in buisness i reserved both copys on both systems dishin out allot so hopin to see lots of action
Well im going out on a limb saying that spider-man could be really annoying in the right hands, it looks like they buffed what they needed to buff and then some so im happy. As for Zero, with crap health, one hit projectiles and no known overheads, im gonna wait on him to see if hes OP or not(Hes good though, no doubt about that)
Also its confirmed through videos of recent events that Ultimate Web is Level 1. Could change, but if not thats just gravy ;)
Zero might be frail, but from the early vids of him he can kill she-hulk with one combo, using 4 hyper bars though, but still he's be a combo beast for sure. As for not having an overhead, well I plan on using him with Viper and Wesker, so overhead assist and low assist will help a lot I hope.
Only two weeks... my SSFIV is already collecting dust, and MvC3 isn't even out yet
(Spider-man's taunt is better(or at least known, heh.). I'd say this is definitely a 'who makes the first mistake' situation....someone who gets really good at canceling webzip/getting in in unusual ways w/ Spidey could be hella dangerous. And don't forget, jumping against Spidey is as lethal as can be.)
This seems a bit one-sided...
