JetX's Abel writeup wins December guide contest

The latest guide contest for the EventHubs forums has been won by JetX. He wins this month's $50 prize for his Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition v2012 Abel Guide.

JetX covers normals, specials, combos, resets, hit boxes and more all in a nice clean and comprehensive manner, which makes for a great guide to begin with if you're interested in the character.

If you're interested in writing a guide to create a challenge for the 50$ prize or if you just want a nice place to relax and talk about fighting games, go ahead and check out the forums.

All Capcom games are eligible for this prize, and the contest is held monthly. There will be a larger contest for a bigger prize down the line as well.

Here's a piece from the guide.

Hard Punch

- The standing version (near) hits twice and can combo into a change of direction and super.
- The standing far version is a slow poke with limited range so I don't recommend it. This move can also anti-air like the far s.MP and far s.LP, but slower.
- The crouching version is one of his best normals, THE ELBOW LAUNCHER! If you land this you can perform resets, falling sky and even the mighty ultra 1 (Soulless). This can be combo'd after a change of direction FADC combo. It can also be used as an anti-air. The timing is strict but when you get it you can ultra 1 (Soulless), dash falling sky, roll falling sky or reset. If it trades you can go for a dash to tornado throw or overhead. Just mix it up. Don't get predictable though.
- The jumping version (angled and neutral) is his best air to air move. It can beat out a lot of stuff which I'll talk about in the match up section.

Go Jet! I love this guy so much. Very nice, respectful, considerate, and that's only the fun size bag of what his overall personality defines. Though I am not an Abel user myself. I have no doubt in my mind that this guide was very well thought out. Congratulations, Jet! <3

Nice going for him, but I have been playing Abel since vanilla and it's nothing I haven't seen before. This will be good for people who want to learn Abel though.

JetX, did you talk about Armor Cancel OS? It is very useful for Abel in some situations and is the Wake-up OS killer.
