V-ryu wishes Makoto a happy new year with new technology for her in version 2012. Note the fully charged Hayate setup, a fuzzy guard trick (where an opponent cannot avoid a jumping attack even if they block low) and character pass-through tricks. An imperative watch for Makoto players.

V-ryu is always godlike, imo one of, if not the strongest player in europe atm. Its a shame he isnt able to go to a lot of events though.

Well she is still very rare. I see more Hakans online then i see Makotos. And Combofiend and Justin played her for a short while, but havent done so in quite a while now. Flash Metroid still uses her as second i guess, but that makes 4 Pros that use her. I think its great thou. I love to play a rare character, and shes one of the few rare chars that arent just weird or completely annoying

I use her as well, there are a lot of people who use her, but 90% of them are terrible.

@ 10 I've used both since ssf4 dropped about a year and half ago and I've definitely fought a lot more Makotos than Hakans. In all the online matches I've played, I honestly don't think I've fought Hakan more than 20 times. Hakan from what I've seen is the most unpopular character in the game.

@9 Combofiend runs Gief/Guy mostly. JWong never touches Makoto in serious play.
801 Strider just recently dropped Makoto to go back to Abel. Mossad man has called it quits for the most part (posted on SRK)

Really the only Makoto's that are out there regularly worth mentioning are Haitani, Shiro, and V-Ryu AFAIK.
