Zombiebrian, with the help of several others, has started a new community tiers poll project for Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition v2012 here on the EventHubs.com forums. As with any tier list, this one will also be hotly debated, but we're asking members of the community to vote on game's match ups that they're familiar with.
As far as decimals go in tier lists... we generally haven't put them in our listings. That's a pretty active discussion point when it comes to tiers, if decimals should be a factor, but since we haven't done it in the past, we left them out of these as well.

@6 A good bit of the match ups in ver2012 haven't changed. This game has been out for years and Sagat vs Gief is still a nightmare for Gief. Besides people like Hakan, DJ and others who got a lot of changes this isn't hard to pick out. Most people who actively follow the game should know the match ups well enough. If you don't don't vote on those match ups, this isn't rocket science.

you should consider a 10% cut from the highest and lowest results per matchup at the end. helps to keep the resutls from being falsified by trolls.
otherwise, you could simply ignore any 8-2 / 9-1 votes anyway, beside hawk-blanka there is not one mu even close to it.
Blanka is top tier in 2012. I maxed at 4200 pps in AE. In 2012, I am now at 6020 pps. I think its safe to say he has no bad matchups.

Notice that when we did polls we didn't list all characters in it because we don't want repetition. In case repetition does happen due to my clumsiness or anyone else working the polls, we simply delete the thread.

Technically we haven't jumped to making the tier list yet. We're simply gathering data from the polls and adding information to support the claims of why this match up is so. And in 2012 as you progress and realize that your vote is wrong or your ideas changed, you can actually change it.
lesser skilled players ruin this i feel. i already see the only votes on the abel vs sagat match listted as 7-3 & 6-4 to sagat. now i main abel but also use sagat. while i can beat good abels with my sagat, there is no way this match up is 7-3 or even 6-4 to sagat. ill accept 5-5, but in my opinion abel has the edge in this match up; 5.5-4.5 or 6-4. its really not hard getting in on sagat, u just have to not be reckless in doing so.
I had the idea that the ideal matchup chart will be based on the best out of 10 match between the top player for each character. The problem is what that is the logistic, timing and deciding who is the best.
I also think that the result of this project is sketchy at best. It's not just trolls, even honest people can get it wrong. Hope there's just enough precautions to inspire confidence.
Its an interesting project like the Charcter % project we have done in the past it really depends on participation. The more that contribute the better it becomes. This is realistically v.1 of this i plan to do another poll of players in the summer and see how views have changed.
The reason there are some matchups that are around the other way is due to there only being one poll for each match-up in other words when we done abel vs chun li we had that poll already when it came around to chun li vs abel. It makes no sense whatsoever to have multiple polls for the same match.
People give EH a hard time but id and im sure Catalyst would like to see other sites co-operating on idea's like this.
Although i think its great what EH is attempting, i think it wont work. People tend to rate characters differently depending if they like them or hate them. People can find match-ups easier or harder compared to other people depending on a different amount of contributing factors and other stuff and the balance of voting wont show up to legit results.

@19 I agree with you that it will differ from a conventional tier list in that it will be purley a grab on people opinions rather than some people sitting in a shed somewhere thrashing it out (i presume thats what happens cause i have no idea how they came up with ssf4's tiers) I think if enough people vote the results may turn out to be surprisingly accurate.
(Hakan still sucks, but is less sucky.

Any attempt to make a tier list within weeks of a game's release = scrub alert. Can people please stop doing it and just start having fun with their games?
Why can't I post on the forums poll? I get taken to a page where I have to login again. I put my same logging info but it does not get recognized. What's going on?

lol, that's far too complex and way too much of a hassle imo. there are other alternatives to make an easy vote per matchup per character possible.

also, I'm somehow miss 5.5-4.5 etc. a jump from 5-5 to 6-4 or 7-3 respectively is a HUGE leap in this game.
