One of the top Street Fighter 4 series players, GamerBee, dropped a little note on Twitter about how good he thinks the port of Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is on the PlayStation Vita. He stated:
Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 [on the] Vita is unbelievable 100% good works just like console, and the Link fight was perfect connection, and WIFI internet almost no lag.
Earlier, Famitsu scored the release of the game as a 31/40, which was two points lower than the console version.
The Vita port offers a replay system and viewable hitboxes, which the console release currently does not offer.
then a couple of months after :
-Gamerbee do you like UMVC3?
-what?is that a new android phone?
The thing that really kills these games are the "easy modes" Capcom adds. It destroyed SF4 on the 3DS almost instantly, and I was very dismayed at that, especially because Capcom insisted that you could play people not using the easy control scheme online in quick match.
You can't. You need to create a special lobby to filter out easy mode players. These lobbies had a very few people playing them at launch, but they are constantly empty these days (I actually played last week).
I wish they hadn't lied so blatantly about this. Skilled players might have actually played it on the 3DS if they could play other skilled players online.
When I first heard about UMVC3 on the Vita, it was seriously a first day purchase for me. Now, I have to wait and see if anyone that actually knows how to play a fighting game will play it with me. :/

No "skilled" players play these games on handhelds. Or maybe I missed the Alpha 3 Max PSP tournament at EVO last year.
The fact that it's ON a handheld means that they're meant for quick sessions of fun. Not perfecting your 1-frame links by trying to plink the touchscreen.
I'll go back to playing Darkstalkers on the toilet, thank you.
There're some PSP games that have tournaments, just because you don't see them at Evo doesn't mean they don't exist. Final Fantasy Dissidia is an example, and another thing all games are made for entertainment they are not made for tournaments.
Capcom should release Super Street Fighter Arcade Edition Version 2012 to PS Vita then I would have no doubt in my mind to purchase this amazing handheld. DO IT CAPCOM!!!!

stop being a douchebag,we dont care about those games,no joystick no pro play.
who was the douchie guy who organized psp sfz3 tourney in evo?
Daaaaaamn it's just HIS FREAKIN OPINION it's not like he is saying you better buy it or else. You guys hate the Vita version because you WANT to hate it, not because everyone else does. Don't kid yourself this game is gonna sell very well.
@4 yeah because only skilled players should buy and play handheld fighters. I mean, EVERYONE should be playing Evo level right/
@4
i myself dont like or use "easy modes" but i dont have a problem playing people with it, because
A. i know tremendous more about the game than they do,
B. I know the do's and dont's where as they dont
C. I'm a skilled player, not a button masher
with all this said, I should be the better player, i should win, if i lose, then i must not be as good as i think i am.
I haven't seen the game itself in person for the vita but the graphics dont look perfect looking at videos I've seen online. Idc about that though as long as its good. As much as im still pissed off that some characters i wanted aren't in the game, it isn't bad to practice combos on the go.
@ the idiot #10
Oh! the irony of someone like you calling me a douchbag.
Personally, I think this is great. I'm not always at home, and I often find myself in boring situations with nothing to do. So having UMVC3 on the go is great, and hearing good news about its transition is encouraging. If you play on stick, it's not gonna be for you, but as a pad player, I couldn't be more excited.
@12, to be honest, easy modes aren't too bad in themselves, but SF4 on the 3DS lets you do charge moves without charging. It completely changes the game since they didn't alter the frame data on charge moves to accommodate.
One button 360s aren't too bad, but those are pushing it too.
Someone also said no skilled players would use a handheld. That's not true at all, almost everyone has one type of handheld system or another and if the game system is good SOMEONE will play it and not suck.
@4 I hope they don't overhaul the PS3 online in the same way. This "Ultimate Controller" garbage is starting to worry me.
lot of butthurt kids mad over their inferior console version
@1
Lol I read your message straight after reading the article and I cracked up.
@17
I agree that easy mode is stupid because of what you said. Easy mode changes major mechanics of the game such as charging. I like to think of my self as a pretty good player and if I want to play sf on my 3ds, I want to play what I am used to. Not some watered down sh!t version that lets guile and honda get away with murder.
He then took his check, walked away, and never played the game again.
