I'm looking forward to the game but I really hope the combos get more advanced than chain combo - launcher - tag - chain combo - special/ultra. It feels like that's pretty much all I'm seeing and I'm worried the execution ceiling on this game might be fairly low like in Marvel 3. Plus it doesn't look like there's much of a spacing or footsie aspect to the game at all.
Simple execution is great for people new to fighting games but when you're used to harder games like BlazBlue and King of Fighters, simple stuff like chain combos just feel boring.
Still like I said I'm looking forward to the game, I hope it's good.

It's capcom's fault. They took out the ability to cancel specials out of chains in the newer builds leaving VERY little room for creativity (you see the koreans getting crazy with combos, but none of it is possible in this newer build)
Basically we could be looking at a mashy, launcher-fest for the most part. It'll probably end up being a scrubbier SF4 combo-wise. Not good at all
Side note: It's awesome how there's been no playable build with Gems even though the game is out in a couple months. It'd be wise for Capcom to test their **** with the playerbase before they crap it out on us. Or are they too afraid of the potential backlash?
I don't think a majority of the gems will have as big a impact on the game as everyone thinks. Kinda get the feeling a handfull of them will become vunerable to exploitation after people have actually had a "chance" to touch the game and see what's what.
Either way, no matter how it turns out i'm sold.
@4 The same thing can be said about Marvel = L,M,H,S,M,M,H,S into Hyper but look at what players have done with that, especially Combofiend.
This game will no doubt be a beast but it hasn't even been out yet so we don't know how it will ultimately play like. I've played the NYCC build and I must say there's a lot more spacing involved than you might think. I tried doing things like canceling a special move into a tag but the sticks they provided were extremely loose. Aside from that it was extremely fun.
I didn't notice this before but it looks like Chun's thighs aren't as humongous anymore. Thank goodness.
And lol @ all these matches being 90% runaway. I mean damn these matches don't mean ****, just get in there.

Goodness I hope game play will be more extensive than this crap...I hate watching my Chun do nothing but spam. Goodness she still has her SFIV setups into other things so why in the world did I only see Hyakurestu all the the fights? I expected more from Japan and a way more than what I just witnessed....

Even in other countries where people love Tekken WAY more than Street fighter like China and Korea. A majority of characters used were Street Fighter...REALLY? REALLY REALLY?
I have high hopes for this game I love pretty much everything about it except how it looks and the music,only the final fight theme I think is good ah well,also I doubt this game will be mostly a,b,c,launcher,tag,a,b,c look at marvel 3 the early builds and stuff people was only doing l,m,h,s,m,m,h,s and that game has soo many crazy combos now so guys just wait and see its gonna be a good game

@17 Its like Seth said...It seems like all the SF players only play Tekken characters while of the Tekken players are playing with the Capcom characters. He didn't expect that at all. He thought the Tekken players would stick with them too.

Am I the only one who absolutely hates that one character KO'd means a team KO? I realize how important the tag mechanic is and how one-dimensional things would get with only one character, but still, what is the other character doing when his partner gets KO'd? "Oops, my buddy got knocked out, I guess that means fight's over even though I'm still good to go." I realize this is an old development, I've just been annoyed with the idea ever since I heard about it. Not a deal-breaker for me though; I'm still pretty excited about the game.
this is a no go for me, the more footage i see the more i'm convinced its just not looking good for this game, the sound design is horrible, the SFX for when normals hit sounds horrible. the stage music what i've heard so far is bad. i was way more hype when the first announced it a comic con in 2010, hell, just release that lol!

I like the soundtrack.
Once people properly get into this game, it won't just be magic series into finisher. Since launcher is its own move, we're gonna see some awesome little launcher setups. I'm looking forward to this game-lots of layers to be broken into and nobody will play the same game.

it's a tournament, dipstick, you're looking at like 4 different players tops. they're gonna stick with their characters throughout the tournament.
gotta jump in here. the music is so terrible. sf4's music is just about okay (bar the slaughter of classic character themes), marvel's is god awful (x-23's theme makes me want to kill myself), and now this? I have to spend hundreds of hours listening to this crap goddammit! If Arika could do it why not Capcom. I just can't understand how, with all the production work which goes into a game like this, it's somehow okay to chuck this nonsense in over the top. can someone please let me know if I'm being too precious here. pay a composer ffs. I'm done with this trash.
@22 Um you dont think getting kicked 10 to 20 times all over wouldnt hurt? Its called the Lightning KICK for a reason frankly i'd be surprised if she didnt give a person brain damege from so many kicks to the face in actuality thats a pretty brutal special move if you ask me.
I've only skimmed through the comments, but am I the only on that realized that only the first part of Sagats Genocide, only the first knee hit? It seems like they're making the easy combos into super hardly work, which I'm fine with. The only question now is can you do Launcher into High step into super?
i've got to pre order this! i just hope that gems stuff got it's own mode.
