Final score was 20-20 with Combo having a huge lead in the beginning.
I think Combo has been pretty busy lately. And Ultimate is still very new, especially considering his team is 2/3 new.
I'll echo what Viscant said, which is that Combo might be the best technical Marvel player, but that he tends to use teams with a lot of bad or sketchy matchups or that are just a lot of work and subject to error. And so he's the man in individual matches, but in tournaments that require high consistency across many different styles of players, he runs high risk of getting into bad matchups in tournaments by people lesser than him in skill that pull off upsets.
With that in mind, I am loving his Nova. He does some sick damage with him and looks very at home with him on point. I thought his Hawkeye would be just insane by now, but maybe he needs more time with him. I think Chris G's Hawkeye looked more fluid, controlled, and showed better technology. I love how well he chains those poison arrows.
This whole match was a real treat. Two of the best players with awesome, entertaining characters going at it.
#7 Chris G used Wesker in vanilla, how is he a sell out?. Everyone who uses him now already used him in Vanilla. Why does no one realize this?
I will admit that I always said the day Wesker beats Combofiend even once is the day I consider him broken.
Wesker poses a lot of problems to a lot of characters, especially with X-Factor. It's not out of the realm of possibility for Combo to lose, and lose often, to a Wesker team with a good assist character.
It's weird to me how some on here regard Combo as like a Daigo or Justin. He's an amazing player, one of the best, but it's not like he's cleaning house at EVO or anything.
Haha I was thinking of switching to the team combofiend was using before I saw this. I need to hot the lab and practice my Nova, Spencer, and Hawkeye. Also holy sh*t Chris G's Ryu is soo damn good. Really amazing. Chris G and Combofiend are defiantly among the best players in UMvC3

Worth mentioning, I think Chris G won every Hawkeye faceoff they had.
That character might be top 5. With slick execution and the right team, he's a bad matchup for almost anyone, even Zero who has maybe the best matchups in the game.
From what I hear the pros seem to agree that Spencer is also top tier along with Wesker and Zero, yet no one is hating on Combofiend for using Spencer?
I mean, if you could just choose any character and win with them then that would be awesome and I'm sure both players would choose different teams. But they pick who they have to in order to win.
@ 28 No one would think that about Spencer if it wasn't for Combofiend. Spencer is better than was in vanilla and Combofiend tore it up then. As of now Zero is the best in theory, not in practice. it's hard to complain about Zero or Spencer because you don't see a good one all that often.
Combofiend put Spencer on the map IMO. I was good with him ion vanilla and now he makes him look like a beast.
I'm surprised none are commenting on his NOVA. some great stuff there.
My teams are comprising with NOVA and Spencer. They both need a good Ranged assist character and Hawkeye seems to fit the bill.
I'm trying Cap AM and switch Nova for IF for mixing it up maybe skrull as well.

how many top players can you think of that mained Spencer in vanilla? Nobody drops characters mid match to switch to spencer when they are about to lose like they do with wesker. nobody complains about all of the spencers they run into online or posts F*CK spencer in every article on this site lol. x factor or not wesker is a pretty brain dead character when it comes to easy combos and big damage compared to spencer. Even now the only people outside of combofiend that use spencer that I can think of are PR Balrog and Knives

Combo is a beast and i think he's way better than justin at marvel. Mad props to chris G..and no he's not a sellout for using wesker..he was one of the first to even use him in vanilla.

Chris G has the best Hawkeye, Combofiend is better overall, Noel Brown is probably the most consistent on the east coast. I've never seen Chris G get thrown so many times - nice set.
LMAO at the Combo Riders acting like Combofiend's team is at such a disadvantage?!? Puzzling because those characters are high damage damn near touch of death no Xfactor, with excellent mix-ups/frame traps, and thanks to Combo's execution he is rewarded....How the hell you gone get mad Chris G switched from Firebrand ol'e pinching azz???
Anyway I love Chris G's Ryu, and he definitely has the better Hawkeye. Love what Combo is doing with Nova, I would like to get into Nova one day...Overall I loved these Matches and lol that they came out even, one more guys!
That Energy Javelin setup into a hard tag to Spencer to keep the combo going was smokin'. Peter is definitely an innovator. Chris G. keeps everything simple, and it shows. I'm lovin' that Hawkeye loop.
