Not surprised at Tokido playing Seth. Thats his style ..rushdown. He doesnt like playing turtle characters that spam the same special thats safe on block. He likes playing characters that requires a brain to use.
@6 Characters that need a brain to use..dont make me laugh. U mean broken characters that require no skill- seth (rushdown), akuma (rushdown),viper (rushdown), yun (rushdown) and yang (rushdown).Don't even bother trying to say they aren't thats literally the only charcters ppl see at tournaments, because they really on gimmicks, tricks and mindgames. Whereas guile, dhalsim, rose, gen, etc take skill to play as you have to rely on good reads and skill alone to win, no mindgames, no BULLSH*T!
@9
You're an idiot. So you're telling me that Seth, Akuma, Yang, and Viper are all mind games and no skill? No matter what character you play, even AE Yun for example, you need a large amount of skill to win in high level play. This is especially the case with low-health characters like Seth, Viper, and Akuma. Seth requires a lot of good reads to win. Viper has mind games but you need high level execution to make her effective. I don't believe in mindless rushdown in high level play. Both Zoning and rushdown take a lot of skill to use effectively, especially with specific characters. No bull**** in that at all.
@4
Um...his spacing looked fine to me. He obviously knew how to punish Balrog effectively, and the spacing he choose to whiff punish that dash punch with (i think) Cr.strong-super was phenomenal.
Thanks #11, you answered it for me. Though I agree, dhalsim, rose, gen, does require skill which is why I like them too.
I was more or less referring to M.Bison where you can scissor kick L all day and not get punished. Brainless. Wish capcom never gave charge characters a handicap by giving them a unpunishable special moves.
@13
your an even bigger idiot if you think Bison is brain dead. scissors require spacing and patience...not throwing it out every opportunity you get. once in the corner it becomes a mind game for both Bison and said character (more mind game on the character though).
"Wish capcom never gave charge characters a handicap by giving them a unpunishable special moves."
yea lets take away their safe charge pressure and they can mash their way out with their reversals...oh wait charge characters cant mash out reversals. hmmm go figure. fu<king moron.
@13
You cant just lk scissor kick all day, it need proper spacing to be used effectively, neutral jump can counter it, focus attack can counter 2nd hit, unless you are right next to him (which is two hits), lots of normals beat lk scissor kick on start up if you time it properly namely Fei's cr hp. You cannot just spamm it, sounds like you dont know the character enough.
lol bunch of noobs posting in here. M Bison Brainless lol.
Some seriously silly comments jeeez. #9 & #13 please wake up and smell the coffee :S
@18
A block stirng is a block string, if it is a true block string then nothing can be done, whether its lk scissor or rekka or whatever, unless you are not good with combo execution then it can be dped through it. It is completely different to spamming lk scissor kicks or fei does cr. hp on reaction during a block string? I really dont understand your question, because if it is a true block string then no one has anything to do against it but block.
@18
I think you got confused with a block string and a scissor kick pressure in the corner, its not a matter of reaction but a reads, bison players tend to do 2 lk scissor in a row in corner to put pressure on but this can be countered by dp, normals, reversals whatever, because you dont get any frame advantage from scissor kicks on block.
@19 & 20,
Ok true. I think I get it now: If scissor kicks gives no frame advantage, it basically means after a lk scissor, both players are in an equal opportunity state, which makes it come down to the decision that both players take after the blocking of the last hit. And to make the right decision, it will depend on your reads.
Thanks. :)
@StrayX
Yea, this is exactly what I mean, some players tend to assume Bison's lk scissor kick spamm is brainless is just completely untrue.
Alot of you are showing your biases to certain types of characters in these comments. I can't think of any characters that are braindead to use at a high level. Now, many characters DO have what some may call "braindead" strategies that do work fine at lower level play, and even more so in online play which is what i'm assuming many of us play mostly.
If not the case, then i ask you this question. Can you REALLY argue that Bison is so braindead spamming rather weak scissor kicks that do barely any chip (low risk, low reward), in comparison to seth that, upon knockdown, is armed with a dive kick, spd, and invincible dp to send you right back down to the ground (high risk, high reward)? They are both very simple concepts, yet both are hard to apply effectively. It's all rather subjective.
If you don't like a character or style due to personal preference, that's fine. But understand your biases and don't let it blind you to the whole picture.
the word on the street is tokido always use the cheapest character. maybe tokido thinks Seth is the cheapest now.
@Guilessonicboom
If what you say is true, then Fuerte must be god-like. I wonder why he isn't winning tournaments though.
tokido seth?? wha?????
