Speaking with VG247, Yoshinori Ono and Katsuhiro Harada talked about how Street Fighter X Tekken as a project was unthinkable 10 years ago, but that things got rolling in 2009, which was a year after Street Fighter 4 hit the arcades in Japan, and the same year the console version was released.Ono, on the other hand, has moved rapidly with Street Fighter x Tekken. With one collaboration on the table, surely he’s up for another – Darkstalkers x Soul Calibur, perhaps? After all, it would seem like the perfect time. A fifth Calibur instalment is on the verge of release, while fans – and Ono himself – have been clamouring for a new Darkstalkers. Alas, no.
“That’s not something they’d be looking for from the Calibur or Darkstalkers fans,” Harada points out.
“They just want a new Darkstalkers,” adds Donaldson.
Am I the only one who thinks they should do Darkstalkers 4 before Darkstalkers X Soul Calibur? But in any case IF they actually do it would be really awesome

Interesting. I'm not surprised about what they said about SFxT was unthinkable 10 years ago because at that time, Street Fighter was pretty much forgotten and Tekken was on a roll big time. But that all changed when SF4 was released and thanks to SF4, it's possible for both game developers (Capcom and Namco) to release SFxT and TxSF and possibly, more potential projects will be made in the near future.

Man, I can't wait for another darkstalkers! I loved that game and would love to see another title from that series. The whole "darkstalkers x soulcalibur" thing can wait.

lol @ the comments. relax, guys, just chill, we all have our different opinions :) i am a LITTLE sceptical about the gems tho. the way i see it, without the gems, the game would've felt sooo bland after the first day (for me anyway). its not that i HATE the gems, its just that i felt like something better couldve been implemented. i was on the hater-side 4 gems @ first, but after seeing that each gem has some sort of drawback, maybe they wont be so bad after all. just gotta wait till i play the game, i guess.

Concerning Darkstalkers: I'd love to see a new DS game. I would like to see a return to Capcom's brilliant 2D sprites, but since pleasing casual kids is a must these days, I guess changes of sprites are slim to none!
Concerning SFxT gem system: I don't like the idea of gems either, but complaining about it is getting rather old. People complaining about people complaining about it is getting a lil' tiresome as well! After all, this is a forum for people to post their thoughts and opinions. It's not really fair to bash someone because they don't feel the same way you do.
If you're tired of people "whining", well...viewing this site is optional. Same goes for people who don't like being attacked by folks with opposing ideas. It's going to happen! Just say what you gotta say, and let people talk their $hit!

You both need to stop being in high school mode. No, murderous, you don't have a right to put anyone in their place, and even if you did, you'd be handling it the wrong way.

The bottom line is, gems are in the game. Like it or not. What's the use of complaining about something you can't change? I personally think gems sound cool, and although you may not be able to fight opponents gem free, if you really feel that strongly about it, I'm sure you can just not equip any gems on yourself. It's not like they are gamebreaking anyway.
If you don't like gems, don't buy the game. But don't keep telling everyone you aren't gonna buy it, and please stop complaining. We don't care.
@10 jimk23, Sorry for the late reply. I didn't get to have enough time to reply back to you. From the tourneys point of view, yes it was on a roll but it wasn't an actual main SF series (Capcom vs SNK is another series made by Capcom and its a good 1). SF3 3S was made in 1999, which was the latest in main SF series BEFORE SF4 was released and ignore SF2 AE because Capcom just added 5 versions of SF2 into 1. We all know what happened to SF3 and it was the tourney scene that SAVED SF3 from becoming a total flop. Alpha was actually more successful than SF3. Lets not talk about the EX series lol. SF2 was more consistent in both ways (tourneys and casuals) than any other SF series because that game stood the test of time and its the best known SF game. In 2001, I was just a kid at that time lol and I remember people were into Tekken and not many people would talk about SF, which was annoying lol. What I'm trying to say is that from the casuals point of view, people slowly started to lose interest in SF from 2001 and beyond until SF4 was released. Since SF4 was very successful, commercially and in tourneys and that opened up opportunities for Capcom to release games like MVC3, SFxT etc. SF4 basically revived the SF series, whether you like it or not.
having played and almost beating all of tekken 6, i can finally understand gems... please play tekken series to understand gems. I think gems are a great idea, kinda complicated to say on a tourney level but online and friendly matches should be really fun
