So Xiao Hai (Little Kid) won, Poongko 2nd and Sako 3rd. They were using AE 2011, so Xiao Hai with Yun won over Poongko's Seth.
Afterward, they interviewed Poongko and asked how he felt about losing to Xiao Hai, Poongko replied that he made some execution errors and he felt really horrible about it, but since it's the result of his daily training, he can't complain too much but to try harder next time.
Then they interviewed Sako (they noticed that they forgot to do that). They asked Sako how he felt losing to Xiao Hai and getting third place. Sako said that he felt bad losing, but he wouldn't mind playing more games with Xiao Hai, even if it's AE 2011, in fact he really looks forward to more games with Xiao Hai.
Lastly, they had three beautiful female Chinese models holding the trophies and they took pictures with top 3. Something we need to do more often here.
p.s. on China vs. The International, it was 1 : 7, only 1 victory out of 8 matches, haha.

From what I can remember as an 8 years old boy in a Chinese arcade in 1992, Street Fighter II was always the most popular arcade cabinet, that's way before KOF's dominance. Chinese arcades in the early 90s were so freakin' dirty and ghetto, if anybody's been to Chinatown Fair, ya it was kind of similar, but dirtier.
Wonder how the current scene has changed/evolved in 19 years.

I think Combo is the best technical player in Marvel, but I don't think he's the smartest. I think his team in vanilla was too much of a manual labor team with holes and bad matchups and that's why you saw him play some of the highest level games seen yet, but he couldn't go as far in the big tourneys as players like Justin, Flocker, PR Rog, and Viscant.
Time will tell with Ultimate. I love Hawkeye and think a technical player like Combo has the potential to turn the character into quite possibly the most dangerous thing in the game but I don't know that I'm convinced with Nemesis yet. When I see people play him, I get flashbacks of Day 1 Sentinel in vanilla and how everyone complained that he was broken.

Also, ChrisG is still awesome and had a bad day. It's too early in Ultimate for people to expect domination with new characters especially off-center ones like Firebrand. People saying certain new characters "suck" are setting themselves up for embarrassment.

whats up with these tournaments for street fighter this year? 2009 we had super great tournaments and it was a great start for SF IV coming to the world in general to play. 2010 was even better as we all got to see so many different players come into the scene and make it happen and make the community grow. 2011.... so many turn downs like the EVO deal with all the upsets and everything and so forth and with Socal we have a boring rufus vs rufus match ( you can only guess who wins that one!) with nobody from japan to even make the event interesting at all overall socal was boring this year along with a few other tourneys.
I feel as though Canada cup and GodGarden were the two best tournaments hands down this year hope next years everything is better since this years were pretty dull aside from two of them.

well I think the timeouts made the stream experience much better, far less people shouting about which game they think is better and that the game on stream sucks, or how so and so is a much better player despite never performing better. Plus people can go here and complain about how they got banned for speaking thier mind when in actuallity all they did was make fun of other people and things they enjoy.

Hype tourney was HYPE, but mods punishing everyone for the idiocy of a few is NOT the way you do things. Especially when you're trying to get people interesed in subbing to your stream. Maybe for those that sub you get unlimited chat in so long as you act proper and behave and observe the unspoken rules of NO RACIST/SEXIST/SEXUALCHOICE jokes and or putdowns. To the people on the stream. Alot of the stuff I saw at times disgusted me, so I understand Chindogg's choice to try and do something about it, but he moronically thought it'd be a good idea to punish all in light of the few that were responsible, and then had the balls to BAN anyone when they called him out on it. I love watching Justin's Ironfist. So sick. It's cool to see this character do well early on because it feels like he may have a hard time down the road with such limited options in the air and at a distance.
And with SF4, once he beat Latif, I felt like he had this in the bag, but then iPeru's Fuerte had me doubting. Good Fuerte players in general freak me out. I feel completely lost against them. Even just hearing those noises he makes stress me out, haha.
Great tournament overall. This year has just seen some insane matches. What a way to close it all out.

That Baiter (or Vader) dude was a freaking disgrace man even I would body that dude no lie, and I'm not even like on a pro level I just would not let that piece of crap stand there and call Doom assist like he had that assist button on turbo or something. I've played people like him plenty plenty plenty of times. I would of just been standing there shoot plasma at him every time Doom came out until I got enough for a Nova beam super and DHC into him like I do against every single person that plays like him. That guy really made me sad to see in top 8. Completely embarrassing for anyone who lost to him. He is trash!

justin is the best marvel player, hands down. To win with iron fist in a big achievement.
rufus has been top tier in every version of sf4
ssf4 was boring, no international players = no hype. Marvel doesn't suffer from that problem being that its only played by americans

SCR was pretty meh in terms of hype, imo. AE finals were about as hype as Toronto Championship finals (i.e. not at all), and Marvel wasn't very good either. I can't respect Justin Wong, and therefore can't root for him. If he's really using Iron Fist to crowd-please, which I suspect is partially true, then he doesn't deserve respect. Play to the maximum of your ability and don't intentionally handicap yourself just so you won't get booed. I want to see top players playing to the best of their ability.
Refusing to play Wesker or Phoenix because they're too cheap is so scrubby. Obviously Justin is a stronger player than Viscant, but I respect Viscant much more as a player for doing what he needs to do to win.

first of all everyone STOP COMPLAINING, David and Chen are two of the most well spoken, and intellectual, commentators that actually know in depth details about (U)MVC/SF(AE)('12). i thoroughly enjoy watching streams because of their commentary, and im sure many others do as well. second of all stop complaining about no Japanese/minimal international players being there, most of these players would body you either way so quit whining, and its nice for some less known american players to get some exposure on a well known stage. people need to stop hating and just enjoy high level gameplay, if i wasn't watching you win or lose on stream at SCR, then quit complaining and enter a major or be happy for the players that did enter and did well or at least competed. its sad that trolls and haters are the ones holding back the fighting game community from prospering when a great tournament gets picked apart for stupid reasons that really dont matter. watch and enjoy or click the X in the top right, quit hating, were all here for the same purpose......FIGHTING GAMES ARE FUN TO PLAY/WATCH.

Steve was trying WAY too hard to be funny. It was really annoying. He should just be himself and not try so hard to commentate with over the top stuff like Yipes does. (Yipes pulls it off well, Steve...not so much :\)

Yes, I'm serious. Playing with honor is playing by the rules, which is what everyone who plays fighting games does. Its a necessity by virtue of the game design. Players who took steroids were playing outside the rules and they deserve a certain amount of scorn.
Winning with Phoenix isn't winning with an asterisk, it's just plain winning, and that's all that matters when evaluating a player's skill.
And no, I don't respect someone who plays to the crowd.
