I'm surprised a veteran Street Fighter II player shifted so smoothly into SSF4AE with no problems at all. And he's kicking ass at tournaments after playing it for 1 DAY? I know muscle memory kicks in, but SSF4 is totally different. Maybe all the people at the tournament suck?... Nah...
Still a really great series. And for real, James Chen and Chris G parodies are just too much. XD
@6
SFII's inputs were strict as hell. It would take a ton of effort to wipe out the muscle memory developed from that game. I agree that the day 1 thing is a bit exaggerated, but an old hardcore ST player could probably win a small tourney like that with about a week of practice.
I don't know why but the guy with the long hair reminds me of Chris G.
When are actors going to learn how to act? This sh** is hard to watch. Why didn't anybody show them how to combo something, so they don't look like jackasses when playing on a TE.
Anyone liking this show makes me release how many of you have absolutely no taste at all.
@12 you cant blame him. hes probably tired of seeing tv shows and movies where people play ps1 with n64 controls and just mash buttons meanwhile none of what theyre doing reflects whats happening on the screen. btw i havent seen the video yet im just saying.
Kassem G as Chris G
Announcer as Clockwork
Alex Valle as Alex Valle
Audience as background cheering sprites from Street Fighter 2
@14 When you watch a tournament, do you watch the game or the people who are playing? It's hard to read emotion from people playing in real matches because they are so focused. This web series is about the people so you have to show emotion even if it's cheesy to get the point across that this person is fustrated and mashing and this person is cocky and can play without looking at the screen lol.
This is'nt American Beauty bud, just take it for what it is.
It's funny how people are so judgmental about stuff like this but think stuff that Maximillans vids that comes out is stuff made of Oscar quality, And im not hating, I love his stuff too a lot, but im not so stuck up that I can't enjoy different genres of entertainment.
@16, 22 What did you guys expect this to be? The Sopranos? Mad Men? Boardwalk Empire? This show is very well made for its low budget. It's fun to watch. You guys expect so much out of these webseries. I suppose you hate Maximilian's vids as well? Come on now.
This is a really good series, i'm surprised, they may be pretty bad at street fighter lol, but this series definitely has heart. Budgets don't always make good movies. Anyone playing on that SE and winning, is obviously a lie.
lol did he whisper "im a beat that fckin puzzy up" in the girls ear
@25 I understand that, but there's such a thing as believability and subtlety, both of which the series lacks but has the ability to do better with. These aren't budget problems, these are places that the actors and writers can improve in on their own. If the player is frustrated and button-mashing as a result, that's understandable. But not when everyone is mashing or hitting the commands really hard.
To me, the guy looks like the long haired dude from the music group Infected Mushroom.
Akuma EX Air Fireball = ULTRA COMBO FINISH!
Apparently
Down GOES too STREET fighter, Victorious!!! Is DAN! When he Points at him across the Room reminded me of a movie, where someone points & says YOUU!. I think it was a Van Damn movie prolly the one where he Gets sand thrown in His eyes & He slaps his Hand & Roundhouses him or somethin' lol. That ending was dumb though when He saw the guy he fired there like Come on ..
@41 Yeah that would be Bloodsport, which happens to be shown on the shirt that chick is wearing. People hating on the show obviously don't see it for what it is.
The "I'm Gary" line made me laugh out loud. Also, if people are taking this seriously and getting butthurt about it, just stop. It's clearly not meant to be taken seriously.
Wow @ everyone who's judging the show based on acting quality and gameplay quality. Are you freakin' serious? This isn't something to be taken as seriously as an HBO drama. It's intentionally corny and doesn't focus on the actual gameplay of street fighter, but rather, the aspirations of being the best. They also add some family moments to give the characters some development (I guess?). By no means am I saying this series is Oscar award winning, but it's a okay watch if you understand what the concept behind it is.
Man they are really really bad at Street Fighter.
