A new entry in UMvC3 Heroes and Heralds primer series is up on Unity. Today's post details the online campaign, here's a grab from the page.
In a nutshell, the Online mode is a week-long tournament that tallies the overall performance of two factions - Heroes and Heralds, naturally - and then crowns a winner at the end.
After choosing your side, you search for battles with the opposing faction via Quick Match, Create Match or Custom Match. The difference between fights in standard multiplayer and Heroes & Heralds mode is these matches incorporate performance-enhancing Ability Cards, and your battle outcomes are graded individually and as a group; as you play, you earn H&H points for your own ranking, but these points also contribute to your faction's total. At the end of the week, the campaign is over and the faction with the most points is declared the winner. On the losing end? Don't worry - you can switch factions at the beginning of the next week's campaign and try your luck over there.

As expected, the whining has begun.
Seriously, have you ever heard of being GRATEFUL?
@2
Was I whining? I think this mode sounds awesome. I just want to be able to play it with friends is all.
at #4 of co8rse you were >_>
on a serious note i totally agree with you. but since it says there "Create Match" i would assume that you can create your lobby to mess around with friends.
of course the mode is awesome, but its natural for people to want to play the mode offline, or just with friends, or even go to practice to explore the limits of these new modifications.
and of course people are GRATEFUL, but then again seeing as the game is lackluster in content and you have to pay for various costume packs and 2 extra characters... i would say this is nothing much.

Yeah, I know it says Create Match and Custom Match, but those are the same options for Player Matches, which work differently than lobbies. I hope we end up getting the full range of multiplayer for this mode, since I regularly play with 3 friends and it would suck for some of them to have to sit out.
I guess I'll find out in a week anyway.
Butterknife is not whining, he is just curious of how this will actually work. Also does anyone know if this mode is available offline. See alot of fun with friends after couple of beers. I hope it is as i will be disappointed.
Also the mode seems great and all that, but the objective seems a little deluded, don't think anyone will be trying to make heroes or heralds to win, just playing the modes for fun and jokes. But oh well, guess they had to sort of seperate the normal and this mode more.
Sounds good, high anticipation even though some is pestimistic
Wow at people taking comment #1 as whinning...Stop whinning about people whinning because now u idiots are just whinning to be whinning lol
If I remember correctly, They already said that there will be an option to "player match" friends online. Not sure about the offline though.
#1 has a legit point.
But OFCOURSE h8rs have to say he's whining to make themselves feel good.
Ud expect a company to do certain things then it falls flat.
(Wesker/Zero Buff, etc.)
@ #13, Come at me..im here to protect and serve Earth.
Is there an option to overthrow Galactus and embark on a galaxy dominating campaign of your own?

I was disappointed too. You can only play the AI offline apparently, not with friends:(
The thing I really want to know is if there will be a Lobby mode for H&H where you can just mess around against friends. I know that seems like something really obvious they would add, but you never know. You'd think Spectator mode would be an obvious addition too but we didn't get it until the second revision.
