My boy Cody and I have been in the lab all day with the new tweaks giving it a day of practice before I go online tomorrow. I believe I speak for all Cody players when I say Thanks for the buffs Capcom!!!
Good yun but he only do rush like crazy to vega, you know.. he dont have any reversal, anyway, I dont know why that vega uses ex st on that combo, he could save the meter using a normal ST, and use the meter in more usefull staff...
Also, I love the last vid with dalshim saying "WTH you can ultra cancel from super too or what???"
HAHAHA when Cody did his Ultra then PoongKo did his it was funny. it looked like Cody was running towards Seth LOL. balance changes look great. i feel sorry for the twins and Fei. yes call me crazy i know, but i think they shouldve just buffed everyone else and leave those 3 alone. just my two cents though. im sure no one will agree. still 2012 looks great.
anyone know what Rufus' EX Galactic Tornado does now? i heard you can cancel out of it faster, but i tried it and i got nothing.
@14
ok thnx for the clarification. i will check it out.
Guy seems viable, as a Guy main that dabbles with Gen i will have to look more into detail on their changes(been to busy with work to keep up on 2012 changes) but Guy and Gen are two of the coolest characters in the game that are very underused and underestimated. maybe i just dont care enough about winning, i just like to have fun and surprise people with close matches with these two characters...hope to see more top level Guy/Gen players enter the tourny scene in 2012
and Tokido is still ridiculous,Poongko makes Yun look broken still, Mochi's sim is still more than impressive, but that honda...whoa... and i wish i could play a decent Cody....finally i still <3 Blanka gimmicks.
nuff said for one post. mash on all, have fun and quit hating.
@11
In the patch notes it mentions that Rufus' EX galactic tornado can now be FADC'd for additional frame advantage, allowing him to follow up for an extended combo.
@11 Hey, I agree with what you said about the twins and Fei a.k.a. '3-Headed Hong Kong Monsters' lol. Many people didn't realised that those 3 were hard to play with compared to the rest of the top tier characters from other versions of SF4. Although they did get nerfed pretty hard (apart from Fei), I think they are ok as long as you play smart with them. AE ver. 2012 is pretty good.
That Guy match was so bloody frustrating to watch, as a Guy main. Reason being, all of Guy's buffs are rendered absolutely irrelevent because Capcom failed to address the fact that Guy cannot do a bloody thing when the person you're playing uses a low profile move like the shoto cr. mk. Watching Tokido throwing out cr. mk over and over to stuff or avoid whatever Guy threw out in the second round had my blood boiling. Your offensive options with Guy are halved once your opponent knows to spam low profile moves. mk bsk whiffs. crossup mk whiffs. jumping d.mp whiffs. neckbreaker whiffs. I cannot believe Capcom didn't address this. Absolute morons.
Poongko: I'm sticking to Seth
Kazunoko: *sigh* Yun got nerfed gotta switch OOHHH Poongko's Seth killed Daigo's Yun *grin*
Poongko: *sigh* the BEST Yun player switched to my character OOHHH dirty! Picks Yun.
@21: I kinda agree with you, but the same thing applies to characters with a strong antiair normal (Guile, Dhalsim and Sakura immediately spring to mind). The solution is to STAY ON THE GROUND! 90% of players do not know how what to do against the Guy matchup. They are easy wins because they will fall for the ambiguous crossup and rushdown game over and over again. But for those players who DO know how to defend against Guy, you just have to adapt your play style and stop jumping, flipping and run-overheading. And yes, Guy does lose out to Akuma in terms of his footsie game. Akuma's standing HK and his insane walk speed make him a nightmare. There's a few option selects to help you out for punishing his teleport and both air + ground fireballs. Instant EX air grab catches ambigous demon flip pressure or at the very least gets you the hell outta there if he crosses over.
Also @21: You can use LK tatsu because it's low invincible from startup and has a low hitbox. I think at least 1, maybe 2 hits will connect. It's not much, but it's something at least! There's also the new lowered hitbox jumping HK, which will score you a counterhit. But you have to be careful with both the spacing and timing... a good Akuma player will buffer raging demon to catch you as you land if you abuse this too often.
@23: you're right, I'll have to spend some time testing out the increased hitbox on his jumping HK. the increased range on U2 should also help against Akuma's standing HK, on block at least. I used to use lk bsk in Super when it had throw invulnerability, not sure if it still does. I'll have to watch some more NOX videos and level up!
@25: I don't see how you could use U2 in that situation, unless Akuma goes for a counter hit setup after the block stun. That's the shame about U2, it starts up too slowly but I guess giving it a 0 frame startup would make him feel more like a grappler and people would complain all day about him becoming OP. Also, I really don't see what the hype is about with this NOX guy. I've played him a number of times and don't specifically remember losing even once to him. But then I ONLY play Guy so maybe I just do better than him in mirror matches. I didn't even know his name until Daigo mentioned him and now I see it everywhere!
@26: I thought Akuma's standing HK leaves him at -2 on block? Correct me if I'm wrong.
Do you play on PSN by the way? my tag is dantemundus, not been playing recently but I use a number of different characters. Guy's my main, would be cool you.
Last sentence should have read 'would be cool to play you,
Wow Poongko leveled up!
