I read through the balance changes doc and I am fine some of the changes but taking away some of Yun's tools to make certain combos work is retarded...clip 3:07 is an example of what I am speaking of.
Capcom already restricted his dive kicks but yet leave Rufu's alone and they decreased his damage output but making drastic changes like the example I outlined is retarded.

@12 Well maybe because Capcom is not as bad or greedy as people make them out to be. Maybe it's a thank you to the fans for all their support we've given them through out the years.
A more technical reason is to notify fans and would be fans that if you haven't bought SSFIV AE now is the time to do it now that there is a free balance update.

I'm assuming caruga is asking that it can do the grounded damage off a low hit juggle, which I believe is not possible. Also disappointing they did not show ACTUAL Dan changes, I want to see cl. hk > cl. mp dammit! Curious what HP KRK FADC EX Air Danku > Haoh Gadouken damage looks like with the buff to airborne Air EX Danku hits now...
@42 I agree with you as far as wanting to see those Dan changes, man. Seeing Dan build meter with his taunt seems cool, but landing that is easier said than done, considering he recovery from it is bad. That's just asking for your opponent to punish you for free, whether the taunt hits or is blocked...at least that's how i'm seeing it. :/

I like how they put Rose with her U2, like "ok remember in ssf4 when it was a good ultra, then it became useless by comparison in AE? I don't think this patch will change much for lower tier characters which is sad cause T.Hawk, Dan, Hakan and Rose wont really have much better of a chance than they do now. I don't get why Capcom relegates characters into irrelevance with such gusto.
I don't know about Gen, Gouken and Elf, I never used Them so i hope they have gotten better. Watching Gen vs Fei matches is always so painful, that old man puts in 1000 times more work but if he eats a couple mindless rekkas and a flame kick fadc into chicken wing it's over -_-;
When will Crapcom patch the freaking easy and begginer mode shortcuts and commands.Thats what this begginers mode easy operation ass game needs. Instead they release Ver 2012 which is nothing more but the same exact game. These noobs on here actually think all this crap changes the outcome of a match. You are overexaggerating on pretty much all points. Notice how pros aren't complaining about things like shortcuts. They simply implement the ones they like into their playstyle. You adapt to the game. So who cares if someone can play street fighter, yet has trouble with execution in another game like KOF. You assume that every person that plays SF4 would even want to bother with KOF or go play HDR. Lowering the execution level shouldnt affect you one bit if you doing the motions correctly, so why do you care how a newbie plays? Get off your high horse.
And people don't assume buffs to their character is going to change everything and make them a winner. It's just fun to know your new options. What gets me is why people like you scoff at people paying attention to this sort of stuff, yet you have no qualms about wasting your time with a unwanted monologue about it.
Aya XIII is hella fun I'm enjoying the game and it feels great to not have to put up with game imbalances.
Bosses are pretty easy actually, mid boss reacts to your attacks so you just get close to him and press light attack until he puts up a shield, then it's free combo time. End boss is even easier, after an air attack he'll attempt to reversal with normals all the time, just frame trap him with sweep or standing normal after a jump attack for a counter hit.

He's not even bad in AE2k12 , didn't get nerfed as much as Yun or Yang did . Even Uryo puts him in the top tier still . You shouldn't really worry about not seeing Fei's at tournaments , he will still be played .
@56 And who the f*ck are you to be telling people they suck at fighting games if they like SF4? How about this? I play SF4, HD Remix, 3rd Strike OE, MvC2, UMvC3, KOFXIII, and MK9. I can adjust from one game to another flawlessly. I never played KOF before, and decided to start with XIII. You know what I did? I went to training mode, picked 3 characters I thought looked cool, and just pressed each of the buttons to get a feel of moves. If I didn't like that character, I went back to the character select screen and picked a different one, and so on and so on until I found the characters I liked. It felt weird at first, yeah, but as I tinkered around in training mode, I got used it. It's not hard. Unless you're an idiot and immediately go online completely unaware of how the system works, it takes almost no effort adjusting to another fighting game.
Also, are mashers REALLY that much of a problem for you? Honestly? Perhaps you're salty about the fact that you got beat by yet another Ryu who mashed DP on wakeup, in which case, it's your own damn fault. Go online and face someone who really knows the game and tell me how many times you get away with mashing in the match. If you're falling for the same predictable mashing every time, you're not that f*cking good. Get off your high horse, step your game up and stop whining.

I honestly think some people just look at the list of buffs and nerfs as a set of plus and minuses, and not even think about what they are reading and how they would affect a character. So they just see Fei has many nerfs and they assume they actually make the character less playable.
@60 hitenryu, yeah random ass rekkas, fuudo is a pro but if you asked him honestly if he threw out random rekkas during the fights with Xiang would he would say "oh no, never"? He can get away with it so why not send out a couple random ones? How many people can punish that first one? So yeas, RANDOM ASS REKKAS, did I say all the time? Please elaborate on how Rose got enough? granted she has more going for her than a couple other characters and i am thankful for what she did get, but honestly? You can jab her out of U2, EX spiral, air jab/short her out of all soul throws besides EX soul throw, if her combos don't start from a lucky jump in or cross up she has 1 frame links to rely on (or the tried and true crouching mp into spiral/spark). I don't use Vega (claw) so I can't speak for him. Do you use Rose? By your comment I would say not, if you do only sparingly then if at all.

I play SF2, SF3 and SSF4. And I'm a local badass in all three! Adjusting to the difference in input is NOTHING!
And I honestly think SF4's success had a lot to do with the control scheme.
The "casual" players I knew back in the SF2 days couldn't even perform basic moves! Giving these noobs the ability to perform special moves didn't suddenly make them a threat, but at least they had some fun!
@69 Most Feis throw out "random" Rekkas because the first two are safe on block, it does chip, and if you hit with them, you can do the whole chain. It's like a special poke. It's like if you complained about Bison for poking you with standing forward and calling it random ass kicks.

Okay, i'm hardly saying Rose is one of the best in the game, but she really isn't that bad. Characters are supposed to be at a disadvantage on knockdown. Only in SF4 did they open up the reversal window to make it easier for someone to reversal out, and even that is a risk. Sure, Rose would be better with a SRK, but she doesn't need one. She has incredible footsies, the ability to nullify projectiles, and one of the best throws in the game.
The only thing i'll give you is that her combos are mostly one-frame links which is frustrating, but she's not alone in that regard.
I think you missed the point of the trailer showing her U2. Yes, she can be jabbed out on startup...so obviously you don't use it for that purpose. That trailer showed a very easy and damaging combo into ultra. It requires meter, but it's an option, and not everyone has the important ability to combo into ultra. Plus, she can still use it on a whim to add some trickiness to dealing with her up close. Louffy is very good at that if you need an example.

You know what it boils down to? A lot of people know how to play street fighter at a novice or perhaps an intermediate level. Intermediate being that they know how to properly execute moves when needed, and they know the basic gameplan of a character.
A big thing that I feel separates a lot of players is that they know what people do when they play, and they watch many pros play, but they dont know the WHY behind what's going on. When you don't know the 'why', much of the reasoning behind tiers, buffs, and nerfs will not be truly understood. Just like that Rose example above with U2. An average person's first reaction to U2 between now and back in Super is "omg this ultra is useless because it's not a get outta jail free card on wakeup" and completely overlooking its other uses, just like now in 2012 it's already been shown that it has combo potential.
People complaining about Fei Long nerfs obviously don't know what his gameplan is, and why he is even strong. Aside from his damage, his only real nerf is his second rekka being unsafe, so you can just delay into a second rekka and still be safe. That's exactly why Mago's reaction to seeing his nerfs was "That's it?" It's not hard to confirm off just one rekka, so even that nerf isn't killing his gameplan.

I wasn't complaining I was saying I hope Gen got better in my post in 52 but 60 was acting like I was asking a nun to do the forbidden dance or something. In the Fuudo v Xiang fights Gen put in so much work but a couple random rekkas and an fadc combo or whatever later it was over. So I wasn't saying I hated Fei, or his rekkas, and I think you meant it would be like complaining about Dictator's short knee press since standing forward doesn't chip or lead to a 3 hit combo.

I never said she was was the worst I'm just saying she and other characters lack options and theses buffs don't change that fact. Also, yeah she can nullify projectiles but unless you're psychic or on the other side of the screen you're gonna eat some fireballs and even at the other end of the screen some projectiles are impossible to reflect/absorb. Also her footsies are good but some of her normals are like focus candy. Her roundhouse attacks except close rh come to mind. And yeah her throw is 2nd best after Dhalsim so I can't complain about it. You're right that some characters can't combo into any of their ultras, but those characters do more damage than she does and without having to use meter (for some).
The only thing I want for Rose is either give her some options, some combo ability that isn't meter based, OR a little more damage. Any 1 of those would be fine alone.
#77 People really shouldn't be complaining about nerfs that much to begin with. Characters that received nerfs are still going to be usable characters. It seems obvious that the game’s balance will evolve as players improve and make new discoveries, but some people still act like these things are set in stone and a character is doomed to be low tier. Players who complained about Iceman on week one of MvC2 probably feel mighty silly right now, and even Cable, who dominated that game completely for months on end, is now relegated to the bottom of the top tier. Abel and C. Viper began climbing the ranks in the latter days of vanilla Street Fighter IV, and knowing what we know now, there’s a good chance Cammy was much more competitive than anyone realized at the time. This illustrates a hazard of begging for balance changes – the game gets “fixed” before you even know what needs fixing.
Oh well. Any hidden potency in terms of characters AE had is gone with the wind.
. All they had to do was keep those nerfed in super buffed and go back to SSF4 with the twins intact. Oh well I cant keep being hipster about it. SSF4 AE "crybaby" edition here we gooo!!

Firstly Feis damage has severly been nerfed, his comeback potential is gone down the drain, its not like he can combo into any of his ultras.
Secondly Chicken Wing is useless now its hail mary move now, its like throwing out a random ultra.
Rekkas are pretty ass now they barely chip now so once you get life lead on Fei just turtle him since its not like hes a huge a mixup heavy character all he has for mix ups is jumping mp for ambiguous cross up.

Tenshin is not reliable like the twins its the slowest command grab in the game, all he has is jmp hes one of the most straight foward character in the, this is the main reason he loses to charge characters lke balrog and guile, since he can't mixup well, only people saying hes still really good are people who dont play fei to understand him its easy to say hes gonna be top 5.

I Agree with #91. In the eyes of someone who hasnt played as him or has problems with him hes a mixup master. I main him and to me he seems pretty straight forward. I mean all you have to do is get a life lead or dont and stand right outside of HP rekka motion and start to empty jump. Tenshin can be jabbed out easily. the second rekka was pretty unsafe to begin with thats why we spaced it a lot. Now Im afraid of even spacing it.
HP chicken wing is almost completely useless. nerfed bad in dmg and lost invincibility, LK and MK ones cant have a combo follow up after it cept MK under a counter.
umm like 90 said he has no setups for ultra. and the "setups" it has do crap dmg so its only used to finnish off the guy . Hes almost as dead as bruce lee and ppl who lost against him will still lose against him and realize this update didnt give them the "very easy" mode they were hoping for. This update has added a ton of new options and combos. Nay sayers gtfo and Stfu already. Perfect example of the typical eventscrub is akumous. He's on psn and uses Akuma adon and yun. All this retard does is blindly throw specials and hide in the corner. I swear to god I've played him in ranked matches and after every fight hr sends hate mail my way. It's RETARDS like him that ruin a good game. Oh and if you beat his weak ass Akuma he attempts to counter pick lol like adon and mashed full screen Jaguar kicks!

And to whoever said they should have just kept the old characters from Super and just stuck the twins in there.....Super was not the friggin bees knees of balance like some of you make it out to be. AE has a strong top tier, but the other characters were closer to each other in potential than they were in Super. It's like everyone forgot that Super had a pretty hardcore top tier too.

@102 Im not saying he'll be strong and Im not saying he wont be. But some of the things done to him were uncalled for while they buffed chars like ibuki. I mean ibuki? wth?.
In terms of balance vanilla wasnt perfect, SSF4 wasnt perfect, and neither was AE, but ppl were happier back in SSf4.
And the mere fact that there are some of us calling out those that constantly kept whining to CC because they couldnt beat X character shows there's some hope left in this community.
@91 and 94. I love how you assume i haven't played as fei long. I used him in super to get shining c achievement and it was piss easy. Punish with rekkas, doesn't havent any terrible match ups like 80% of the cast and has ridiculous damage output to say how fast he can move. You know it's true, even Mago admits that Fei is still broken!
