ArcadiaFighters.net put up how to use turbo and get through some the challenges a lot faster. Note how much the counter goes up on the right hand side when Ryu hits Urien with an EX Fireball.
The next bug makes Gill's stage partially disappear. It's done by initiating a save point, performing Gill's Seraphic Wing and then reloading. Video from Paolomiragli.
VIP2GAMING showed the K.O. sound effect bug where a player is low on life and takes some damage, but not enough to kill them, but the sound effect still plays.
The last video by AncientSlayer7 shows a weird trial bug where Chun-Li's 5th trial was selected, and instead of being Chun coming in, the player took over control of Yun.
There's also a thread on the EventHubs.com forums where people are reporting bugs they've found in game.
I love the Capcom fighting games of old but 3rdstrike is the last game I will buy from Capcom. The net code wasn't fully optimized and it does have a sheer amount of technical issues. I wasted my money...it sucks for online centric players like myself.
wow ,
capcom reminds me of emp .. so many problems
I had one glitch where I was on the Parry Trials with Sean VS Dudley and I exited, then I selected Makoto Trails and the characters that appear where still Sean and Dudley.
Is the invisibility glitch online only? If so, meh. Don't care as long as the frequency isn't too bad.
I'm pretty much positive the KO bug is a result of GGPO rewinding on someone's crappy internet. Not surprised at all.
Everything else is bugs with trial modes and crap tournament players shouldn't care about.
@11 - That doesn't make it right in either situation.
@14 - There was around 15 or so people who signed up for 3S at Summer Jam. Tourney players make up a small percent of the overall players in a game. Just because tourney players may not care, doesn't mean the rest of the players (the majority) won't care either. Capcom really needs to care because their reputation is taking quite a beating this year. Casual fans, who are a rather large section of the market, are taking notice. They are casual by definition and it won't take much for them to reconsider purchasing a Capcom product. Again, you might say who cares, but they are a significant portion of the market and Capcom does care (about their money).
Almost every fighting game I can think of has glitches that's what happens when millions of people play countless hours everyday they find stuff developers dont at least they can be patched now people need to chill like I bought 3SO like it's 3rd day pout and someone already had played like 500 or more matches online lol seriously of course you are gonna find glitches when hundreds of psycho capcom fans start rooting around on the system ( myself included quite a psycho capcom fan ) glitches will always be so just live with it
It's not rooting around on the system when you simply want to play ranked and it doesn't work.
It's not rooting around on the system when people lose their spots in line in an endless battle or have it appear as if they are not even "ready" to fight when they just won the match.
It's also not rooting around on the system when the audio garbles for no apparent reason.
Or when people two people have their characters and color palet switched during a match.
I understand their will be hiccups when a game comes out but 3SO is honestly the worst I've ever experienced.
If I could give my download back and get a refund I would do it in a heartbeat.
The Anniversary Edition performed better ONLINE than this game does. I could actually play ranked on that.
My god you guys, Capcom will fix this, I swear any shot you get you will bitch and bitch and bitch and bitch about Capcom.
It's not bitching. We just want and expect things we pay for to work they way they are intended.
When did it become bitching or whining when you pay money for things that don't work?
If I buy a car and it only turns right and I tell someone about it I guess I'm just a whiny bitch huh?
You got a game that worked correctly 12 years ago. Bringing it out on a console several generations ahead of the one it was originally designed for is bound to cause glitches. Yes, you are a whiny bitch. Go buy a Dreamcast/PS2/Xbox and enjoy playing arcade mode by yourself on sub-par ports. Meanwhile, the non-whiny bitches will enjoy a mostly functioning game which will be patched to a fully functioning one, and still cost less than what I spent on petrol and a sandwich today.
Looks like III strike is ***. lol
That's unfortunate, but I won't buy this game with so many glitches in it. And I'm a new to SF, but fully willing to take my lumps to get good at SFIII. Invisible glitch is just lol.
Arcade Perfect? hmmm
I'm not saying a newly released game won't have bugs, software always does. But these things will ruin your experience, LITERALLY.
Man you guys can sure overreact. You wasted your money because of glitches that could not have been found or expected by internal testing until the game was put in the hands of thousands and thousands of people playing hundreds of thousands of matches? Not only that but it's being fixed? You sound like spoiled children.
Also, here's something you might not have known about software development: It's difficult to add new functionality to old code that wasn't designed to include new functionality. Considering the amount of features they added to this game, I'd be surprised if they didn't find bugs. It's just one of the realities of software development. And remember that another reality of software development are patches and that we're getting them.
@#25
sure it maybe performed better...but why learn a version that isn't even arcade worthy? just calm down dude. it was only 15 bucks. they'll fix it. in the mean time just wait like everyone else.
once its fixed it'll all be good.
oh. one more thing. name me a game thats meant for online that didnt release with bugs.
the ko isnt a glitch thats ggpo's netcode and use of the rollback feature i wrote a whole explanion if u watch that video on youtube and look at the first comment. its vip's video. i guess there alot of ppl that dont know much about ggpo. which leads to the question if u didnt know about the netcode why did so many ppl want it, because some ppl that knew what it was said it was good. he even changed the name of the vid from k.o glitch to ggpo roll back feature. as for the other vids dont know about that one
(But I thought it was Arcade perfect? And SFIII was literally GDLK?)
Well, I'm still perfectly happy with the game, but I must admit that there are a ton of glitches going around. I frequently experience the music cutting out during certain attacks. Not sure what the requirements are, but I play as Hugo and have had this happen with both normals and specials. Still laughing at how "arcade perfect" this turned out to be. (Honestly though, I love glitches. At least until they affect gameplay in an actual way, I'm perfectly fine with some of the minor visual bugs.) Also, is it just me or is X.C.O.P.Y. voice not distorted in 3SO?
@#48
dude i noticed that same thing. and i play hugo as well. i was 6th on the leaderboard for hugo at one time. its prolly alot lower now.
@1 Emulation is hard to code to perfection, just because it's capcom does'nt mean it's no different, the fixes are possible but they take time.
The game might be preserved but it's still running behind netcode and other lines of code that probably need fixing.
Also keep in mind the code for SFIII is ooooooold. Most people don't code 2D like this no more.
Just because it's hard to make or hard to do or old code doesn't mean Capcom gets a free pass for putting out a shoddy product.
We aren't asking for magical things in game that weren't there... The bullet points that Capcom advertised should work. All the added features they promised should work.
I really don't understand the folks here that use the "ITS HARD" "ITS OLD CODE" as if it some how makes having a piece of crap game some how okay.
I paid money. It's not unreasonable to expect the thing I paid money for to work on day 1 let alone a week later.
We have no idea when a patch will come either. They haven't even acknowledged the problems save for S Kill contributing them to "first-day online system jitters".
Seriously, if you are defending shoddy games for any reason you need to have a brain scan.
#39 "It's astonishing how so many people on the internet feel like the world owes them something."
That's what happens when you give nerdy autistic little assburgers (read: Asperger) a platform to voice their opinions.
Almost every gaming forum and comment section on YouTube and various websites are filled with these jerk offs who believe they're important.
Stay bad, kids.
Not enough. Then again, I wonder how many of these problems are GGPO related? I know that the false KO is directly caused by GGPO, but since many of these problems seem to be online only in my experience, I can't help but think there might be a connection for some of this stuff.
@52
Sir , stay broke & homeless in this economy.
This is reality. Your living in fantasy world.
None of these are "Game Breaking" and are just that, bugs. The invisible one can be annoying as an opponent can be attacking low and you'd never know until it was too late. But even so just drop and restart the game?
For those of you QQ'ing about the game being a waste of money, and are fed up with Capcom let me ask you this...how many of you are still playing the game now? Also how many of you have UMvC3 on pre-order?
@56
You give Capcom way to much credit. The whole "you'll buy it anyway" gimmick card is over-played & over-thought.
Its this simple :
If people don't like how a company does business , they don't purchase their products.
Simple as that. (And that goes for everything , not just """video games""".)
As far as the whining (complaining for those older individuals) its a natural , human reaction when something goes wrong , when it should have been right & doesn't meet expectations/"""standards"""...(all of this is not unwarranted negativity being tossed Capcoms way , these past couple years). If i go to BestBuy , buy a Laundry Machine for my clothes & find out the machine doesn't function a short time after , your darn straight im going to go back and complain.(& at least "try" to get my money back , showing the receipt , letting them know the date i purchased the machine & informing them when it stopped functioning.)

Is Aspergers the new buzz word now that being gay is widely accepted in the western world.
I have Aspergers and can assure you that I have never acted like that on the internet or in real life and, if you can believe it, hate those people just as much as the next guy.
Why are people mentioning emulation, I'm sure 3SOE is not emulated it's just the PS2/DC version ported to PS3/360 with additional options + GGPO replacing the Matching Service netcode + New HD UI.
The game isn't arcade perfect offline either. Many players have said they felt lag offline...
If that's true, one can only ponder what hell comes upon them when they do go online, lol.
I'm not actually mad, it's game, and I've got other things in life I can enjoy. But it would be nice if I could get into this some day.
CAPCOM HOW COULD YOU MESS UP THIS MUCH IN A GAME THAT WAS ALREADY COMPLETE!?
I no longer trust you will do ANY game right the 1st time!
