Seth Killian spoke with The Noble Eskimo at PAX to talk about some of the down and dirty details concerning Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3. This is written by someone who knows the ins and outs of MvC3, not your typical gaming publication, so the questions are more of the flavor this community is interested in. There's also an audio version of this piece where there are extra notes that weren't transcribed, here's a bit to get you going.
TNE: So how about [Ryu's] rapid hadokens? I hear he has rapid hadokens in this one.
S-kill: Yes, so, he's got two new hadokens... well he's got the new Shinku Hadoken which [happens] in his powered-up mode. If you throw a fireball with Special, it's one little anemic fireball that doesn't look that great, but if you hold down the special button [for a moment], it powers up to a hypersonic fireball that you don't even see, but if it hits, it'll explode on you and you bounce off the wall and can combo after that. If you throw the anemic fireball and just mash special, you'll get a stream of anemic fireballs.
TNE: So would you say Ryu is going to be more of a contender in this one than the last one?
S-kill: For sure. He's got a new special too, a new Shoryuken. If you do a Special Shoryuken, it gives him a powered-up, special Shoryuken which launches and throws up a little almost projectile-thing like Dr. Doom's.
Ryu and these drastic changes sounds weird....I like them though

The Japanese UMvC3 site shows all the characters on the main page. No individual pages for them yet though.
I'm gonna have to check out Wolverine more. I'll probably still b using him on my team 1. But is his barrage is slowed on assist as well i'd certainly go shopping for a new partner

Ryu is technically an obvious little toy, so these drastic,changes are to bring more unique options for ryu to do than the same old, and to make a big difference in choosing Ryu or Akuma
I really like all the changes they've done to Ryu, they practically redefine him as a character in this game and gives him tons of new options. Great way to buff a character, I'd say.

Yeah, they did. It has been gone since the first playable build of UMvC3.
The idea of a screen full of invisible fireballs doesn't really appeal to me .

In that case, you should try reading the interview again.
Only the fully charged-up S fireball is "invisible". And then it's not actually invisible but rather a near-instant hit because it's so fast.
The "anemic" fireballs that you can spam are not.
I wish they would bring back mega-crash i really liked that system.And hopefully they also buff characters that need it, like Spider-man,he needs wall crawls and more web variety.VJoe he has no level 3 hyper,he needs alot of the moves they took out from him from TvC back.and Arthur he needs a little more movement options.Im looking forward to playing this new Ryu.Cant wait for this game to come out.
@24 Mega Crash took out what made the vs series fun. If a player caught you in a combo and built 3 ars of hyper then you get the drop on them they can just reset you and you lose your chacne to come back. IT did'nt fair too well imho.
As for Spiderman he already has a variety of web shooting, he zip line, the air dashes, the web throws and he can now cancel his spider sting into a web ball. Plus his web ball is faster. He really does'nt need more, he has enough tools.
The glitch is gone but the Unscaled OTG Hyper damgage is still in. Taskmaster is still TT!
Omg great ryu buffs. I liked it when I didn't see him allot, thought when I stopped playing AE I was away from ryu but looks like he's gonna be used more now boooooooooooooooo
