If you haven't heard already, the Xbox 360 version of Street Fighter 3 Online Edition was made available around 2:30 a.m. PDT this morning. It costs 1,200 Microsoft points and the download filesize is 702.29 MB.Hmm,
I`ve been playing SF3OE for a few hours now, and the online has been absolutely shi.t
I just played a match were I should have KO`d a player, and it even said KO, but the match continued. I then hit them again, and it said KO, but the match continued. I finally hit them again and got a final KO.
Has anyone else been having such problems online?
@SHOGUN
In case you HD quality and no lag in your monitor.
I wonder why? GGPO works great on my PC, so I wonder what could be the cause of this.. I am one to believe display issues. Then again this has happening on both platforms. Interesting.. We need some hard numbers for people using Boob tube to compare or something..
man this sucks online sucks here in the us but the guys playing online on the NSB stream http://ja.twitch.tv/nsbtv seem not to be experiencing any issues...
Same as Shogun. Im one of the lucky few who's 360 hasnt red ringed.
Will the new players from SF4 even touch this game? Let's see if these newb scrubs will dare complain about Yun and Chun.
I'm a 3S noob and I told my friend (who mains Chun in just about every SF game) I was gonna play Twelve. He laughed in my face.
TIME TO TRAIN
@20 Shortcuts work well if you make them a habit. Certain characters are ridiculous with shortcuts.
@19 I heard Chun is arguably the best character in the game and Yun is scarier than in AE. True?
Downloaded this at 3 a.m. this morning. Haven't really got a chance to play it just yet, cause I'm just now getting back home, but I'm sure it'll be a blast unlocking content.
I kinda feel bad for people who got into street fighter with SFIV series. 3S is a much faster paced game, and there are hardly any links. I feel they'll have it the hardest, and probably won't understand a lot of stuff going on.
GL to those guys on c.forward hit confirms. I think 3S is the fastest paced SF to date. I'm gonna trolololol at all of them who try to pick up Yun. He's so different than his SFIV counterpart
fkin fanboys no the 360 not the best one its the same crap it all about is your connetion's is good the game will tell you. so far no lag for me on psn now ima go check out my 360
Im having some button mapping issues, one of the six buttons will not work, I tested a regular pad and everything works fine but when I plug in my arcade stick one button will not work be it the short or forward. The button works fine ("a" and "b" works in guide menu to enter and to back out) out of game play but when Im playing it twacks out on me. Im using a madcatz pad which is dual modded into my stick. Im assuming its the model that i have isnt properly supported with the game. If thats the case, update please.
Had this it came out. I can tell you the net play is complete garbage. In fact, I think the PC GGPO might was better.
What a let down. All that waiting for really crappy lag issues. Most players I played had the yellow dot. If its like SF4 I assume that means decent to good connectivity. The screen often feels choppy, ppl flash around like a slideshow often.
Theres also a GGPO delay setting set to 2 by default. Anyone know if there is an optimal GGPO delay setting? What's this based off? More lag more delay?
@23 when i was younger i would go to the arcades and play 3rd strike but not alot, i can say i spammed since i was a little kid, i kinda grew up on that, but sf4 is when i started playing it serious and trying to understand the game, luckily i have that sense so it shouldnt be a big problem, just a big learning curve
Third Strike requires discipline and training, those scrubs will complain and when they realize no one cares, they'll run back to SF4. I myself started with SF4, but I expect to learn the game thoroughly and to learn the little intricacies of the system. That's what makes a fighting game and its engine so awesome.
If all you do is cry for changes and don't learn the inner workings of the system, you're only inhibiting your growth as a player. Eventually, I'll have UMvC3/SFxT/AE 2012/Third Strike OE. I plan on learning all the games properly. These players don't need adjustments in the game, they need to learn how to adapt and grow their skill.
I have a 70" LED HDTV and have no issues.
What's the concern?
Soon, noobs will realize what real network problems really are.
Uh it's identical for me on 360 and PS3. Fanboys overhyping their preferred version / imagining differences? Probably.
I completed one online match. There are some visual and audio bugs, like the opponent getting hit for a split second, then instantly you see him blocking instead, but I felt no lags for this one match. I'm already halfway pleased.
XBOX 360
Offline (VGA): A little input lag, feels weird.
Online: not played yet.
PS3
Offline (VGA): Feel the same as the Dreamcast version. No noticeable input lag.
Online (VGA): I felt no difference then offline. But my ping was green.
All game configuration set as default.
IS THIS A F*CKING JOKE ???
GUYS.
Set your 360 to any 4:3 resolution (you know the very same 4:3 aspect ration the game was CREATED in.)
start a game.
LET YOU BRAIN MELT.
YES.
SFIV/SSFIV/SSFIVAE were 4:3 fullscreen, GET THIS : SFIII3sOE when set the 360 in 4:3 has HUGE BLACK BARS on each of the 4SIDES OF THE SCREEN.
WAY TO GO CAPCOM. YOU BETTER GET YOUR SH*T TOGETHER AND PATCH IT.
@46 Aluppoj
wait, wait, wait
Because some people take the pis.s out of others for shi.tty consoles they own, they fail at being decent human beings???
Ahahah, your standards must be really low!
Enjoy having a "decent" life, douchebag!
I don't have the 360 version of 3SOE yet and I have minimal 3S arcade experience, so this isn't about 3S specifically, but if you are not playing fighting games on a tube TV then, IMO, you don't really care about whether the game lags or not. Seriously. Set up a small tube TV next to your HDTV - you can even watch sports while you play or allow your roommate or girlfriend watch something so you don't hog the dang television. It's a really simple thing. There may or may not be lag with 3SOE through a CRT, but until you try that (I got a huge tube TV for $35 on Craigslist and some people actually give them away if you are willing to lug it out of their home), please just stop talking about lag.
@49
Yeah, I think downing people every chance you get is a big time Fail! Maybe your Mommy bought you your system, but some people went out and spent hard earned money on theirs!
Imagine if you pulled up in your NEW car and I was standing their waiting to tell you what a piece of $hit it was!?! Or how much better my car was! You'd probably feel great right? What a Fu<kin downer.
And the fact that you don't see a problem with LIVE members going Tee Hee Hee tells me you are part of society's problems.
Do you also laugh at homeless people? What a tool.
Someone who understands GGPO should talk about it a little. I am not one of the Rabid Fans that was begging for GGPO because I don't know a thing about it.
It sounds like it simply masks Lag by skipping frames of animation? Tbh that doesn't sound very good. It sounds like you'd end up watching a slide show if the match was laggy. How is that better than slow down?
no input lag here, the game played great online! Capcom once again has done a great job. = )
@Kenshiro, (cool name btw)
I agree, too bad though. We're all gamers regardless of the system we bought.
I happen to be a PS3 owner twice over. While I love and prefer PS3, I'm aware that X-Box is also a very nice system.
I don't feel a need to Bash X-Box or it's owners because of the Hardware they chose to purchase.
@56
thats what it does. People think that its magic and will overcome there crap walmart wireless connection, it wont. sf4 had good netcode, as long as u had a big connect(that also includes not having 4 different things pulling from ur router while playing) and the other player isnt on the other side of the planet ur fine.
Alright, I've spent decent time with the XBL version of the game, and have had 0 bad experiences with the netcode so far. I've always seemed to be one of the seemingly lucky few who has had an overall good experience with Capcom's netcode-ability across games, though, so take that for what one will.
In other news, the game is flipping great. It's even better now that I've matured and have more experience from when i had the Dreamcast version.
Damn really 90% of ya started with sfiv?! Either I'm old(I started playing sf since 2 on the snes when I was 8 in 93) or you guys are living under a rock. 3rd strike is an amazing game but takes patience. A co-worker today told he DL the demo and said it was crap I was WTF are you smoking?!
Btw the 360 d*ckriders are in full effect on here I see. Seems to me like the psn and live version are the same exact thing.
i wish they added an option to disable buttons..i keep hitting lb and lt accidentally..i dont need a 3 button move anyway, smh. they should of done the control setup like ssf4 where u can set 'no function' back button is annoying i hit it like 8 times already..
@68
button plugs are a relatively cheap investment and have worked great for me and my stick. I highly recommend them.
Also with the whole lag talk, I experienced slight lag through HDMI on PS3, but went to my SDTV and it was perfectly fine. Also, after putting GGPO delay to 0 and playing my friend across town, I really actually like this port and am glad I picked it up.
Just bought it for 360 and I wish I would of put that 15 dollars in my gas tank. The fact that this game is focused around Online play makes it inexcusable. Nothing but laggy games so far. At first I thought it was me running on wireless, so I plugged in an ethernet cord and it is still exactly the same. Also, I have work in a bit and I most definitely can't squeeze games in like I could with Marvel or SF4 as it takes forever to search for lobbies.
LMAO @ Aluppoj Coming in here to see how things were going over on the Xbox and then feeling salty and upset!!! When some say its better than PS3 HAHAHHA I am the Dark Phoenix so ask not for pity of the Dark Phoenix there is none here!
I'm not feeling input delay on the 360 version. Online or off.
