I know what you mean. It's hard to believe that in 2008 the fighting genre was almost entirely dead. When I heard SF4 was announced, I literally didn't believe it. I was like "It's just a rumor. They've been doing this for 10 years."
But yeah. I don't care about Nemesis at all. I'm just waiting for the Dr. Strange video to be added.
I'm liking both characters.

@8: A number of the characters that did get included WERE high on the now-infamous fan poll.
They've straight-up stated Venom wasn't approved by Marvel for even possibly being selected. I seriously doubt Carnage was even in the running for maybe being approved if Venom wasn't.

I would rather have Dr. Strange than Venom or Carnage. So speak for yourself, just because you want a character doesn't mean everyone does.
Those polls were UNOFFICIAL, they never meant anything. And anyways 7/12 new characters were high up on the polls LOL. Also the top voted character only had like 2000 votes. out of the 2 million people that buy the game. so those polls don't really reflect anything.

You are a victim of early 90's cartoon nostalgia. It often affects 20-something year old men who have no interests beyond remembering things from their childhood and claiming that everything else sucks. To rectify it, all you need to do is read some comics about characters who are not familiar to you.

if you look closely to that nemesis vid, watch his health, he takes 2 hit of damage from kikosho before he reaches chun li. So chances are it has 3 hits of armor on it. Dooms projectile does like 11~ hits in about a second so it eats up the armor pretty fast before nemesis can move. Safe to say anyone with a ironman/doom projectile assist can probably walk all over nemesis.
Dr. Strange looks OP as hell. Hmm.... Not sure if like.
Don't get me wrong he looks fun as hell to play and they did great as far as his moves go and stuff, BUT and this is a big BUT they need to either tone down his damage or his stamina a little bit. Please no more Dante/Wolv/Phoenix it'd make the game a lot more fun to play.
Firebrand is my favorite new character so far. Still got a lot more to go of course :)
@h4mx0r well Dooms beam does a minimum of 4 HITS. In the trailer the Kikosho hits 3 times so I am guessing that it will take 4 hits to knock him out of the super.
That level 3 command grab looks like it has a good amount of range.
Oh and in my last comment I meant to say or nerf his stamina even further, I'm aware its already low but it needs to be below 800k because of the crazy amount of moves and mix-up potential he seems to have. A projectile counter hyper... Really? So basically you have to constantly be afraid of having any form of keepaway game against him because he can just counter it. Not only that but he can't be chipped out by beam hypers, oh yeah and I forgot to mention the instant teleports and projectile potential. Too much at his disposal, way too much, he needs to have disgustingly low hp, like 700k.

Im not a victim of this nostalgia you speak of, and neither are the THOUSANDS of voters who put VENOM #1 on the Marvel list.

Oh I don't know that for a fact, I just watched a Maximillian breakdown of his character and he said it looked around 800k, trust his opinion I guess. On top of that I'd hope Nemesis would do at least 650k damage for his basic combos considering his obvious speed and mixup handicaps. (He brings Strange down to about 15% in one of the gameplay videos, thats why I bring that up.)
That leads me to assume hes somewhere around 800k.
And you people cryed about Phoenix well get a load of Dr. Strange whiners the river of tears will continue to fill my pool

If he ends up being this way then thats fine, I'll work around it, but I hope they see this preemptively so that we DON'T have another Phoenix.

MvC is always rushed and never play tested before release... I have a feeling that this may be another payed beta, X-factor doesn't even look fixed
Dr. Strange looks extremely powerful. Beam counter, Level 3 that looks like it can travel, and all sorts of tricks and setups that not many characters will probably know how to deal with. Definitely gonna be using him as a character when the game comes out. I like offense, and he looks like he can set things up and take advantage.
it seems like everyone whines all the time, wheres this character or this one is too strong lord people just play it because its fun my favorite capcom character will never be in it and i have just learned to live with it all the characters in the game are awsome and all capable of annialating characters with practice but back on topic both look awesome i really am excited about there choices granted marvel are kinda being a**holes about there pics but still there choices are still sweet to me maybe not as many others but i want rocket raccoon hes awesome
dude Nemesis has crazy reach on the normals and Doctor Strange looks ready to rock and roll with all sorts of mystic trickery, very impressive stuff. Now...... Vergil gameplay next please thank you ^^
I'm going to rock people with Nemesis once I learn the engine. :) I absolutely love him.
Also, Dr. Strange looks crazy. He definitely has tools akin to Phoenix and he even seems strong enough to possible take on the mighty dark phoenix. I think he requires more timing and set-ups, but lord does he look dangerous.
I refuse to use Dr. Strange.

Nemesis looks awesome though! I like Tank Characters like Sent. and Hulk.
I think in a way Dr.Doom is a dark phoenix counter. The only reason I say this is because his super that counters all projectiles: did i mention the counter is a instant bean and invincibility while using it? Well when phoenix goes dark phoenix all her attacks shoot projectile. Can you see where I'm going with this?

Basically an unofficial forum poll that a lot of people are taking as gospel. I'll admit, I would love to have seen X and Gambit in among others, but these tallies are pretty low considering how many units this game moved.
Has anyone seen the streams,Dr. Strange has some strengths but far from broken. Setting those glyps will be difficult to make him effective, they only seem to be good for zoning and setting traps. As for projectiles. Keep in mind his Projectile may counter all projectiles but he can only shoot straight.
It does'nt take a rocket scientist to see you need to shoot your projectile at specific angles to make sure your not caught in the returning blast. A little practice can help figure that out when the game comes out.
As for the teleports, just treat them as you would others and keep moving and don't allow yourself to be in one place.
Both characters look awesome. Also to the people crying about Venom or Gambit, go scream at Marvel. It's their property.

First of all i didn't say it sounded gay I said the name nemmy is really gay. How can it sound gay if know said anything? Yeah and I'm considered 12 because I made that comment. -_- do me a favor and hop off the nuts.
I don't see why the Marvel dropped the ax on Venom. I would of loved to see Flash Thompson's Venom come in with different moves than MvC1/2 and get them back through either rage or form change to convey Flash losing control of the symbiote. But hell, Marvel wanted these characters so I guess that is that. I'm sure if they talked to Bendis we would of had Spider-Woman and Ms. Marvel in the game.
Why does Strange look like he is about to sneeze in his win portrait? They should do something about that.
But, he looks like a bad ass. Nemesis is cool, too. Dem tentacles.
I'm really looking forward to playing Dr. Strange, he was actually one of my fav Marvel characters when I used to collect comic books. I'm no expert or anything but just from looking at his move set and power level, he might become a tournament standard. Looking forward to trying out different combos with the floating orbs and bouncing fireball. Strange/Deadpool/Strider for me
