Tip from MAKAVELI2004.
I was in absolute tears by the commentating.. omfg...
daigo in evo against poongko wasnt the true daigo,and like old englishmen says:he was bu a shadow of himself
Wow, sure is fanboy in here. Hilarious the way the Daigo dickriders are trying to convince us that Daigo's loss to Poongko at EVO somehow "didn't count". Daigo lost. People lose. Everybody loses. Poongko loses. I lose. You lose. It happens. And on that particular day, Poongko was better than Daigo. Don't make excuses for it, just acknowledge that life goes on and that losers can become winners again.
@15
Who's making excuses? Yes, he lost. Who cares? I just find it distasteful how desperate everyone one was to see him lose.
But now he continues to have success regardless. And the Hero of EVO doesn't even Qualify for SBO. That's funny.
Both Daigo and Poongko are great players. Better than I'll ever be. I cheer for both of them because they are two of my favorite international players. I'm no "DickRider", they're both great. But people's attitudes toward Daigo is grotesque.
@ 18 - You came off like a dickrider because you spouted about Daigos "Legacy" and how Poongkos performance at EVO was tiny compared to Daigo... You probably couldn't sound more fanboyish imo. Its just how you said/typed it man. It didn't really have to do about ppls opinion of Daigo at all. The guy that responded to you sounded completely unbiased where you (as I already explained) sounded like a rider.
I wanted to see Daigo lose because I always root for the underdog, Daigo wins too much IMO. Wanted to see someone different win EVO.
Well, maybe the guys d!ck does deserve some riding? He's like the Michael Jordan of our sport right?
Sorry, to me it seem desperate and pathetic when people are so blood thirsty for another human to perform badly. I guess I just felt like sticking up for him.
But he really doesn't need me to say anything. His track record speaks for itself.
Either way, I'm not biased. I don't care if he never wins again. It's just sad that so many people want to downgrade him for finishing 4th in the largest tournament in the world. The same one he just won two consecutive years prior.
Daigo's Street Fighter history includes 10 years of being consistently at the top of nearly every iteration of the game.
I think people need to show a little respect for the guy. He's super humble. He plays. He wins. And he also loses. But you don't see him mouthing off so I have always respected him.
My personal POV (and I was there at Evo) is that Daigo got overwhelmed in a match up that doesn't exist anywhere in the world except for with Poongko. Meaning there's not a Seth out there that comes close for match up experience.
Vs. Latif on the other hand I'm sure he has plenty of experience against Vipers. There I think he choked. But so what? He's human. He also happened to do a full parry against J Wong's Chun at Evo in 2004 in SF3. Who else has done something like that at Evo on this site? *tumbleweed*
diago wasnt playing well at evo no doubt but no one can doubt his dominance
Poongko rules . I rather watch him than diago's boring yun and he brings personality to pro gaming which is needed as well as skills
but playing seth with low health and Poongko's his risky style. he's gonna take osme unexpected losses
And the Daigo dickriding continues. You know how you guys seem like dickriders? It's cause you bring up Daigo's loss to Poongko when Daigo has absolutely nothing to do with this topic.
You guys bring up Daigo's loss to validate yourselves even though, at least on that day, Poongko was better than Daigo.
Deal with it and stop complaining.
You guys do know that Poongko did way better against Fuudo than Latif did? So saying Daigo wasnt himself only against Poongko is a weird thing to say.
And Poongko plays Seth. Hes a gamble character, one random ultra or shoryuken can ruin his entire game. He can be very inconsistant.
@31
I'm mearly responding to a comment that was made by another poster. And not every person who mentioned Daigo is complimenting him. So have you read all of the posts before labeling everyone "DickRider"?
And why are you the Daigo "DickRider" Police? Do you down him/Us daily to validate yourself?
Hey Crispy, don't be Douchy.
Hah, you guys are funny. Not that it really matters since it is casuals but apparently Daigo and Poongko recently faced off at an arcade near Shinjuku station in Japan and Daigo won 22-8.
