1. Street Fighter characters have only been shown along with other SF characters, when revealing their official partners. For example, Poison with Hugo, Dhalsim with Sagat, etc. The same is true with the Tekken side. It should be safe to say at this point that only Capcom fighters will show up next to each other and the same is true for Namco.
2. The oil/water splotches that have partial images of the fighter to be revealed next have always been on the left side of the screen, next to the other character. To date, they have never been above or below or any where else except on the left side, so this is the main area to look at on the pages that show the official character artwork in the trailers with the oil/water effects.
Now with that out of the way, a couple of readers felt they spotted Elena in the latest trailer. It seems like Capcom is getting a little craftier about hiding their fighters in these clips, but check out the images below and see for yourself.

If a Capoera fighter makes it in this game, I would rather it be someone like Eddie or Christie. They seem like more likable/interesting characters (to me, anyways).
Call me crazy (I've never played 3rd Strike), but is there a genuine reason why everyone likes Elena so much, or is it just because she's 90% naked and uses a fighting style that shows off her ass and crotch a lot?

I think most people like her for the same reason why they like Ibuki, Makoto, or Alex. They were all well designed, memorable characters with great personalities on the 3rd Strike roster. It's the total package, I don't think anyone who hasn't played 3rd Strike would understand the nostalgia that comes with it.

Really, the 3S roster was underrated, IMO. Hell, I hated on it for a good while, wasn't until recent years I looked back and really appreciated it.
Anyhow, I imagine she'd be fun as hell to play. :-)

I've played with elena in 3S because she fought different, had no fireballs but great mix ups. Never played 3S online and don't really care is she is low tier and not great people who loved her in 3S will obviously love her in SFxT so stop hating y'all

IMO it's better to look at the trailer if you want to see something than on those pictures. The mind easier fills the blanks. :P For example I can't see anything on Kumas picture but I see something (no idea what that is unfortunately) in the trailer.

I'm usually one to get excited but I don't think this is Elena. I think we'll get her as DLC one day but I don't think this is her in that shot.
For instance, where people are saying is a "foot" to me looks like another person behind the "reveal". You can see their hands clapping right under "oo"" where someone drew "foot". Does anyone else see that? So whoever it is to be revealed has someone else in their storyline, like how Hakan has his kids and wife behind him in his art.

As much as I would love for it to be Elena (one of my main characters in 3rd Strike), I think #72 has it right. That's almost crystal clear Makoto in the image he shows, as opposed to having to squint to see Elena in the images shown here.
Besides that, I kind of think they're going to pair up new characters with new characters, like they did with Hugo and Poison. Just a hunch, though.

If she's not on the leaked list she won't make it. People see some crazy stuff out of nowhere in these pictures, it's pretty annoying to see people in denial about stuff. Remember when Steve Fox's pic was teased and was pretty obvious yet people who wanted other characters more started to hallucinate some nonsense believing it was the char they wanted when it was clearly Steve Fox. Hell it has happened with every pic, face it if Elena wasn't on the leaked list, she's NOT in.
I see the foot now, proper clear as day. Missing a few toes but there's something that resembles 'bands' around the ankle area. Skin colour of the foot looks darker than Ibuki's skin and there's a lot of white.
Its a good still this guy's captured cause the water drops disappear and reappear pretty fast. Also understand the red line which is meant to predict her possible stance; I would say standing on one hand with feet in the air.
About 60% sure it's Elena, 10% of me says its Makoto. IOf u cantsee anything give it 10 mins you should click on to it. Those obscure trailers we'll be gettin a few weeks will tell a better story...

As one of the people who sent this is (Nice to see my pic Cat, cheers man <3 ) I find it... awfully odd that there's a lot of hate or to some points, denial at some points. Lets review a few things
1 - Confirmed by Ono himself, Elena ALMOST made it into SSFIV. One assumes that her move data may have already been half-programmed, maybe even a render.
2 - In the line of 3s characters, Elena is one of the highest requested for a comeback. In the case of characters like Poison, the community has been proven to have a massive say in what and who gets in
3 - Whoever it is, just have fun along the ride. Capcom like teasing, Ono loves to troll. Relax buddeh!

Yes, I would like to see Akuma, Yun and E.Honda, because I like their playstyle and I don't think they are wasted slots. And people need to stop whining about Yun, I think it is a great character although I never use it online and it is a very fun character to play against with my M.Bison.

Bison, Dudley, Rose, either Haggar or Zangief, Juri and Rufus for the Street Fighter side and Roger (that's the Kangaroo character's name right?), Jack, Heihachi, Xiaoyu, Eddie Gordo (I don't care how he cheap is. People dont want Elena for how she looks, they want her for her interesting fighting style. Shes only been in SF3, and many would like to see her in another fighting game. Plus alot of people want to see how she fairs against Tekkens Eddie(who uses the same style)

Why ask for old characters? Is anyone really psyched to play as Ryu, Ken or Cammy? I can't see how; they won't be much different to how they play on SSF4. Obviously they are musts for the series but doesn't mean it's gonna be great playing them.

You have a good point. But people want Ryu against Kazuya not just Ryu. And they can't put as many SF characters in the game because it's a crossover. So they're gonna prioritize and put the people who need to be in the game first and then put a couple of fresh faces in there. As soon as they make a SF game without Ryu and Ken(which they almost did in SF3) it's gonna be the end of everything.
If we look closely Capcom has been doing major fan service lately. UMvC3, Capcom side is everybody that fans been going online requesting hardcore for. SFxTK new characters on Capcom side is characters that fans have been requesting lately. That leads me to believe/lean towards more that Elena will be Ibuki's partner.

I agree, I'd never take them out of an sf game cause it wouldn't be sf. All I'm saying is does Blanka or Honda or Gief really need to be in this... I just can't imagine their playstyles being too different from SSF4. At most they'll have a tweaked Super and different win animation + Dialogue; it really is nothing, you might as well stick to SSF4.
Now I personally main Vega(claw) but I don't feel he's a must for the game and am willing to have a new face introduced in his absense. If I want to play Vega I'll just play SSF4...
SF3 cast was unfamiliar and new, but it wasn't bad at all. The gameplay and mechanics reward players who know what they're doing, which is why SF3 couldn't survive at a mainstream level. It was just unfamiliar and very not user-friendly. Still, the characters are unique, have back stories, and their movesets fit them well. I like the 3rd Strike cast as much as any, even though the world warrior cast is the staple of the series. Personally, I'd like to see some characters return from the original SF.

the thing that sprung to midn especially on Kuma's to be partner was the water taking shape as well into something what I believe might be Heihachi, with the spiky hair and all. would be the most logical choice since Kuma IS Heihachi's pet bear anyway.
