This game's bread and butter looks like this for every character, a,b,c two buttons. a,b,c two more buttons. no wonder they can have 68 characters. Same combo for everyone just different animations.

I can buy that Elena is Ibuki's partner, but I dunno if they'll make Panda Kuma's partner since they're the same character. Palette swaps at least with no difference whatsoever. I think there's 3 possible partners for Kuma: Roger (jr), Heihachi and Paul.
I can be wrong though since obviously the teamings don't have to make any sense, like Bob and Julia or Steve and Hwoarang.

You obviously don't pay for the games so you have no reason to be talking about waiting for the "completed" copy because you've caught on to the joke a billion people have told by now. Not to mention it's stupid because it's no different than GOTY editions of other popular games. Also, if there ends up being no additional SFxT, considering they probably only made contracts for these two particular games, I don't think Capcom just has free reign to be using Namco's stuff like THAT. I mean after the ridiculously BOSS CGI trailers, silly character reveal teasers, and now pretty much all the gameplay mechanics are out of the bag I feel like if your a fan of fighting games in general you should be excited about this game coming out. I think despite a majority of the SF side being re-hashed guys from SFIV (should have known that was gonna happen look at mvc2 lol), I think the Tekken side more than makes up for it. If you think about it, this is more like Street Fighter+ FInal FightX Tekken. I have never seen so much Final Fight love in all my life. We have Cody and Guy in SSFIV, Haggar busting it up on MVC3, Poison hitting up SFXT, and not to forget Hugo having an appearance in all three (actually, I think that is U. Andore in MVC3) plus SF3TSOE. Street Fighter has always been about Hugo. Capcom, turn the beat back and gives us Final Fighter.

I'm sorry that sounded a complain about Ibuki, I think it's a very okay character - just not my favourite, I'm not hating or anything. My take with her is that she's just one of the characters they could easily port into this game from SF4, with target combos and all.
I know what you mean by that, and it's a shame we hardly ever get such characters. But still, it's tough to call it Street Fighter without those 3, and regarding Akuma, he's easily one of the most entertaining and representing characters of the franchise.

@42 Sorry man I'm watching this movie in the highest quality from gamespot, slowed it down and have stared for minutes at it frame by frame and the only thing I can see is a hand during ibuki's part. That basically narrows it down to.....everyone in the franchise.
I hope the leaked list is right... not too many TRUE projectile characters, just a few that have a projectile, a few grapplers, a few charge characters, and a huge list of tekken characters that I only know by name or from playing tekken 3 and tekken tag. which is where i gave up on tekken cuz im more of a 2D fighter kinda guy. but there are so many team possibilities and i like what I see from the tekken characters so far, so that will make the game really fresh... for me at least. Hugo and Kuma, those two are a nice addition to the roster. I mained Ibuki in ssf4 so it'll be good to see her in the game, although I'll probably refrain from picking her.
@ 205 diversity equates to a more enjoyable gaming experience, no one wants to replay the same four or five characters repeatedly. Particularly when two or three of those characters have similar moves.
All the fancy editing still can't draw any hype from me.
I wasn't a fan of the tag idea to begin with, but I really don't like the whole basis of the game being centered around tagging as often as possible.
I'd still really like a Skullgirls-esque choice of playing as a single character. But that's not going to happen.

A shame that the sprites for the returning SF cast are almost identical to SF4's and even the character name font on the interface is like SF4's. I pray that they'll at least try to make this game -feel- like it's a fresh new one.
They reused sprites for the CvS games, but at least they are definitely differentiated from past SF titles aesthetically.

Honestly tired of hearing "zomg shotos are broken!" they aren't you just suck. I handle shotos with no problem, I handle charge characters with no problem. Wanna know who I use? Cody Travers. Fireballs? Not a problem, it's called jumping or going through them. DP's? No problem, called expecting and baiting them. Random wake-up ultra? See it coming a mile away, it's called predictability, pay attention to people you fight and you'll see a pattern with similarly skilled players.
Now I want to see Cody and Guy gameplay and they will probably release this game near the end of the 4th quarter next year. I'm expecting Febuary 2012.

I dont know why, but I'm not as hyped for this game as I was when SFIV first came out. Also, is it just me or does this game kinda looks... sluggish? I just hope they dont make all the characters have the same inputs for combos but with different moves like someone mentioned here. Coz that would pretty much suck. If Lars Alexandersson makes it in this game then I might just have to consider buying/playing it though.

I believe that with such a huge fighting game revival going on right now, i'd be nice to see as many different types of fighters. Diversity over anything. It'd be great to bring the real street fighter experience over to match the tekken roster and to play essentially the same character with a veritable who's who of fighters waiting in the roster seems a waste.
Cross Counter is the most revolutionary thing of this fighting games era. Mark my words. A lot of games will use it from now on. Mark my words. CvS3 if it ever exists, it will have this system on it for sure.

Also complaining about the same 3 moves is essentially complaining about their difficulty which really isn't any if you know what to do. I used to complain about charge characters all the time for the same reasons. What do they usually do? Hold down back and profit. But lets all just agree to enjoy this game when it comes out hm?
I made a mistake the quarters are broken down into 3 months. Jan-Mar = 1st quarter, etc. Wasn't saying it to necessarily be a dixk but that's something everyone who's atleast past the age of 10 should be familiar with.
And again, the complaints are mostly regarding the moves. Marvel had the right idea...not everyone is gonna be pleased with a quintet of these tards. 1 to 3 is enough already. Especially if a character is actually left off the roster purposely. Unless anyone really doesn't mind paying for revamped version down the line.

Jeddah678 you're confusing move commands, with lack of originality. The moves aren't the root of the issue, those moves being spread out to 3 or 4 different characters and rosters being monopolized. I'm loving this game more now than I ever have. Guy and Cody don't even have to be introduced for me to get hype!

Not quite the same 263. Ken exclusion from MvC3 didn't seem to ruffle many feathers if any. Ken is in this game to be a viable partner to Ryu and vice versa. Gouki/Akuma is the perennial badass and a compelling villain, he's almost always a lock but if Evil Ryu is a different slot than Ryu we don't need both. Dan could be paired with Sakura (sensei and student) but if Karin is in those rivals could team up.
Ooops less chance of Sean getting in...just don't get overzealous with the shoto-love, especially in a crossover.

Furthermore why did you included Paul in your comparison with the father and son Mishimas? Really the only move Paul has in common with any of the is the Hammer fist--power punch and only then it's a move only Heihachi shares with him.

I played Tekken way back in the day. Tekken 1,2,3 and Tag. If memory serves, way back when... Pual = Ken, Kazuya = Ryu, Hehachi = Akuma.
At least in terms of in game presence. I think they had more move similarities in the Tekken 1 and 2 days also. But have obviously evolved over time.
Anyone hating on Kuma just... sucks.
Kuma is one of the best things to happen to the cast. A joke character? Sure, but one of the best non-serious characters ever.
@ ShoNuff - I'm hoping Lei makes it in too, although I'm a bit worried he won't because of how hard it'd be to simplify his moveset. He's got what, somewhere upwards of 160 moves and like 9+ stances?

...damn, thinking about just how SICK he could be in this system with his stances makes me want hi in this game. Lei vs. Gen... if it doesn't happen in SFxT, I guess there is always TxSF...

Ibuki has an opening and a special entry with Makoto. why would Elena take her place when two more viable capo fighters can fill her spot and more?
My comparison was based mostly on Tekken 1. But I agree that Jin is currently Tekken's Ryu.
But waaaay back in the day Kazuya basically looked like Ryu's alt 1 lol. And his Tatsu went along the ground instead of the air.
Things have changed since then... But IMO Kazuya was the original Ryu clone of Tekken.

Thats exactly what im thinking. Where the hell is the ZANGIEF. We need the rest of the world warriors. Geif, blanka and honda. YES u need them. The world warriors are sf most beloved characters and to have them sit out on such a big cross over would be a crime. On top of that we need some charge characters.
@279 Elena is the only African Martial artist and the only practitioner of an African martial art in Street Fighter. Elena's fighting style is definitely "new to us". I'd prefer two Capoeiras with different styles as well, so Eddy/Christie and Elena would be great.
@chickenwings - eh, I dunno', I'm fine without all of the WW's showing up. I'm not opposed to it, but if they don't I can understand. They're trying to mix it up, get some new blood in there and even put some lesser-used characters in there.
It's hard to say the WW's HAVE to be there when there's so many mainstay characters in the franchise. Someone somewhere is bound to be disappointed because "character X got left out", and I imagine it'd be kinda' boring to just "expect" them all to show up each game.
I doubt all of Tekken's "original 8" (or was it twelve? I dunno, I didn't start playing Tekken until 2 lol) will be present as well, probably just the absolute lead characters and a few obscure ones (or off-the-wall ones like Kuma) to balance the roster.
(As an aside to the point above, I was probably one of two people that was heartbroken when Kunimitsu showed up as a mere background character. I knew her fate was sealed YET AGAIN... why do you hate her Namco, why?!... ahem - moving on.)
We'll see I guess. Personally I'm still holding out hope for Karin and Juri, but Ono's replies to those asking about Juri aren't exactly inspiring confidence that she'll make it...

@263 As much as I don't mind having shoto's, your comparison is ridiculous. Kazuya, Heihachi and Paul have COMPLETELY different fighting styles. Whilst I have no problem with shoto's, comparing them to that is just ignorant. The shoto's are called the shoto's because of their very similar movesets. They have difference's, sure, and the game wouldn't feel the same without Akuma and Ken, but they are very similar.
@290 his not saying paul, kazuya and heihachi are similar, he was actually saying pidgeon holeing the shotos in the same boat, saying they are exactly the same as each other (palette/head swaps) is like stating paul kazuya and heihachi is the same.
Im neither a fan or hater of shoto's, but yeah i'd rather have some more original and diverse designs between players as each year there is atleast one more added, taking one more slot away from a character who could add to the variety personally.
Cross arts look too cool and i like the switch canceling and everything else!
Character selection wise not bad at all! only character(s) i wanna see confirmed are Jin ( so i can use ryu and jin (screams like a girl) for the ultimate badass team ) perhaps makoto along with balrog and dudley ( so one of them can prove who is better then steve if any).
either way no matter what hate people may or may not have for this game, i really do like the abc combo system simply because its not exactly 1005 street fighter and it has tekken style fighting so i dont mind its supposed to be different from other fighters so yea. but overall i like what i see! ( even cross assault thats just crazy!)

But, aside from story, what makes Jin and Kazuya different? Are they both in T6? I don't remember. How are they move sets different? Also how are their devil forms different? Last I seriously played Tekken was III so I'm pretty behind on story and move distinctions.

Guys, I'm sad to say that the arm we saw at 4:09 to 4:11 is Hugo's. It's a darken part of the scene where Hugo clothesline Marduk in their 2:22 cinematic video at 0:52. You can tell it as the background of both video has the same "VS HUGO" sign. Also, if you are quick enough you can pause at 4:09 to see Marduk's head. I mistakenly thought that it was a new character and tipped it to this website. They told me that it was Marduk, which help me conclude that the arm is Hugo's.

theres isnt alot of mainstay characters outside the ww's other the cammy and the four bosses. Get real, the sf3 cast sucks(its one of the reasons the game did so poorly) and outside of that what other characters are there? A few from alpha and the new sf4 characters. The bulk of it is what? the ww's.
There is no "Ryu" clone in Tekken. Are you guys truly that shallow and simple-minded to believe Ryu is the prototype for every single character ever?
Kazuya never sported Ryu's look. He never sported a full gi and Kazuya wears foot-guards with his gloves. Now in Tekken 6 you can give Kazuya a top similar to Ryu's but that's a customization option.

Man, I am SO hyped for this game! Kuma and Raven just look downright sick. :)
Also, the cross-assault looks deadly (and I think could be potentially abused against disadvantageous characters), but seeing Ryu and Ken Hado spam someone back and fourth was funny as heck. Though if some scrub was mashing DP's from both sides, I wouldn't be too pleased. xD
Also, Poison+Hugo mix is brutal. I'm loving the creativity this game will offer. Honestly, I'm wanting Alex/Urien/Elena in this game more so than Zangief. But he is my main, so if he makes, I'll be happy. I still think Hugo+Alex is going to be a sick combo if he slips in.
Also, Sakura+Karin and Dudley+Balrog. :)
