XUYGX is putting up a $200 cash prize for the first person to win 100 matches on their SSFIV AE stream. It's not clear if it has to be a win streak or not, but its still worth a shot if you have the time. The stream is held only on PSN so XBL players will have to sit this one out unless they own both consoles. Hit the jump to view the stream.
@2 that's cause the competition on XBL is weak bro. PSN is where the real competition resides at. No joke.
Let me help you out there Akro...
Who is Alpha, Catalyst, Nyo
;D
@4 You are either kidding or trolling. Check the XBL leaderboards.
^^ most are on xbl i would know i loss to juicebox lol
XBL definitely has a stronger player base in Japan, but it's not THAT much stronger.
Tokido plays on XBL.. sure.. but -6, the actual #1 Akuma in Japanese arcades, plays on PSN.
There are a number of Grandmaster players that play on PSN, like Dashio, Shiro, ODIN SIN (#2 Cammy), -6, Waike (Grandmaster Juri), Akame Ryu (#1 Ryu), gatikun (Ultimate Master Sagat), Hagejin (#2 Hawk, #3 Gief), Kanbara (#1 Adon) and a whole lot more.
These may not be household names to people here, but they are VERY well known in Japan for being extremely strong.
If you actually follow Japanese tournament results, you actually don't see Daigo/Mago/Tokido/Kazunoko winning a whole lot of tournaments. They win some, but there's a lot of parity in Japan.
Here are the rules posted from their facebook page:
Up Your Game (UYG) Fighting Game Community
UYG $200 100 Win Streak Challenge!
1) Matches are recorded to stream, and reviewed. If it is dictated you are "Boosting" or "Cheating" to win, your streak will be invalid. Legit Wins only.
2) Winners must be registered members of UYG, or belong to the UYG Fan Page on FACEBOOK (give links here)
3) If the stream fails and/or host is kicked, Winner must re-invite host to the stream before continuing streak.
4) If in the event winner loses connection to the internet, and can not continue, the streak is broken, and he/she therefore must start over.
5) Player is paid via paypal, or money order within 5 - 10 business days.
6) If the room is full for an extended amount of time, host may implement a 3 loss rule. If you are a player in the room during this time that has consistently loss attempting to take down the Winner, you may randomly be selected to be temporarily booted from the room.
Lol @ PSN Fanboys attacking XBL for no reason. Just as a counter; XBL has the better internet connection with less lag, has better players (Like every japanese god is @ XBL top) , has less input lag as a console in itself.
Hold dat. Not that I care, I like both systems, just as a counter :)
The reason some top players are on XBL is because XBox is cheaper than PS3. Anyways, its not like you guys are going to run into them. The overall US competition is what I'm talking about. I wish we could do a PSN vs XBOX event. PSN would destroy XBL players. No doubt. Hold Dat.
@16
That is not the top PSN competition, that's just who made it into the lobby.
Lol @ people saying one is better than the other. You could go through 10,000 players and have it come down to two guys.
As mentioned in an above post each system has it's fair share of Pro players, and beyond that I'm sure it's fairly equal (dependent on the individual).
Evo seems to like PS3. I'm sure if it were a laggy piece of crap it wouldn't be the preferred system of the biggest fighting game tournament on the Planet!
But hey, any chance you guys get to yell at eachother right?
Excuse me... I'm going to go play some Metal Gear, GOW, LBP, Infamous and Drakes Fortune real quick.
Lol.
There are great players on both consoles.
And lately there are a few (Japanese) top PSN players like Poongko, It's Showtime (Ken), Uenis (Vega), good-time_01 (Juri) and a few others switched to Xbox or play on both consoles now. And guess what, they are beasting on Xbox just like they did/do on PSN.
It's not like there are noobs on PSN. Players like Poongko, Shiro, FAXGimoto, Youhei, Pikotan, gotokaffy and others can beat the best Xbox players and vice versa.
And I might be wrong about this, but didn't Fuudo say he played on PSN?
Actually there were several threads asking why Evo didnt switch to 360 since its the superior console for fighters (1 less input lag frame) but people dont realize Sony is a sponsor + they wont just dish out 5,000 and buy all new xboxs for no reason.
Its also pretty much fact that XBL players >>> PSN players, not saying I prefer each of the consoles, its just pretty much all the gods are @ xbl lol. No argument
Btw this is like impossible. I checked jays stream, and the record holder is 86 winstreaks from some pros. Its possible obv. just gonn take long
its all person prefference. btw, im typing this on my ps3 right now : )
It's not impossible. It all depends on what players are in the room. Put Poongko or anyone close to his level in this room with these players and they'll probably take the 100 win streak.
But to be honest, I don't see one of the players who are at the moment in this lobby beat TZSendo04. He's far from the best, but he's a pretty solid Guy.
Here he is against one of PSN's best Fei Long Players:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RfQI-j...
Wtf Daigo sucks hes been getting his ass kicked real bad recently and the xbox 360 does not have better players players nor are they the better fighting game console when i had a chitbox i would constantly beat online opponents weak ass competition even with 360s gigantic uncomfortable controllers you cant compare that crap to ps3 perfect fit controllers and the competion on psn just has way more random serious hardcore street fighter masters/grandmasters nobody gives a crap about any of the socalled top 360 sf players if they faced the guys/gals on psn they would seriously get their ass kicked most of the real good fighters dont give a chit about being on stream.
@ SsjBizzle
Indeed, Poongko plays on both consoles, just like some of the other players I named.
But someone like FAXgimoto plays on PSN, he fights in tournaments. He is without a doubt one of the best Makoto players. I upload some of his PSN fights and Ov3rheadGreg has tournament fights were he beats players like Fuudo, Bullcat and Furansujin.
But you're right, it's a fact that most Xbox top players are more famous than PSN top players. And sometimes it's difficult to know who they are. I mean we all know players like Shiro but he got some strange nickname on PSN so most people wouldn't even know it's him.
TZSendo's got 27 wins as of now, he could get it if there aren't any killers that join the room XD
He's only a quarter of the way there though...the odds are definitely against him :(
Who even plays 100 match in a row, let alone winning...?
Most likely a win streak.
lol, not even Poongko was able to do 100 wins, what chance do we mortals have? I can prob do 25 win streak.
