Makaveli2004 and sf4maniac did the favor of writing up the information for the next GodsGarden tournament. For those who don't know, GodsGarden 4 is a 16-man SSF4 AE event based in the arcades that features a long lineup of great Japanese players.Sako playing Yang now? I guess it's not quite Yun and the nerfs to Cammy make it somewhat understandable. Would have liked to see him stick to Ibuki though.
WOWOWOWOWOWOW, this will be the best God's Garden yet! And I'm stoked it starts next weekend. I want Poongko make the cut. Hopefully some other players get in there too like Bullcat, Wildcat, Kindevu or someone who plays a lesser-used character. Don't know why YHC-Mochi is still playing Sim though.
I forgot, is God's Garden character locked?
@Shotosaurus. The fans voted for him to use Yang. Sako stated in an interview with Famitsu(pre-EVO2011) that the only reason he's not using Cammy is because the timing of the combos has changed a lot and did not want to re-train the timing of new links. He mostly uses Yang in endless battles and training modes. He never plays ranking. Fun fact: in that same interview, it was explained that Daigo was the one who invited (Daigo had the privilege to personally invite some players to attend the tourney) him to attend Godsgarden online. This is how he came back to the pro scene. For many people who don't know, Sako is not a fan of tournament scene and prefer to play casually like Kumite (which he did on Wednesday night pre-Revelations). He prefers the format of playing continually in a serie of matches.
@Samurai
Sako mained Chun Li in Vanilla then went switched to Ibuki/Cammy/Rose in SSF4. Now it's Yang. Sako does not have the drive or the ambition to be #1. If it wasn't for Daigo's invitational for Godsgarden online, we might have never gotten to see him much.
@nyoro
Fuudo (Fei Long)
MCZ|Daigo (Yun)
when will people understand that evo in us is like weekly tourney in japan(from a skill perspective of course)
funfact if i were you ill watch the Kazunoko vs fuudo,this match is funny as hell..
OMG somebody scream broken already two Yuns(three? w/Momochi) and two Yangs and the tournament hasn't even really begun. XD
But srsly mad hype about this. Gotta root for Tokido who I can't believe I'm saying this but I think is the underdog against everyone except Uryo, Nemo, and maybe YHC. My opinion.
niiice btw Check out my Guy videohttp://youtu.be/40pWckqNTdg
@ makaveli2004
Indeed, you're right. I forgot about his Chun-Li, I remember it now. I'm sure he's gonna destroy people with his Yang. It's a bit strange to see him play with Yang, he always mained female characters. Personally I liked his Cammy & Ibuki the best.
Man, I wish I had like only 50% of his skill.
Right now the two gladiators in the arena are Poonko and Daigo. While Fuudo sits and watches the fight like a god. Whoever lives in this fight is up to fuudo!
@MR_47, you are very right to think so. GOdsgarden online is his type of format. Sako explained in his interview with Famitsu that is why he prefers Endless so he can keep playing with the same player over and over whereas Daigo plays mostly ranked for the random factor of playing against people with different strategies(which is better suited for toruneys). When Daigo was interviewed late last year in Kuwait, he did give props to Sako as being the only player that was scary to him. They both respect each other and Sako praises Daigo as being the prototype of an almost perfect player balancing defense, attack and aggressiveness. Anyhow, 4 of the so-called gods of 2D fighting would be attending: Daigo, Tokido, Sako, Haitani. (Nuki doesn't play SSF4AE)
With all that being said, it is not a guarantee win for any players.
Let's root for an underdog, shall we?
I'm not surprised to hear the Sako tidbits. Sako doesn't approach the game remotely like Daigo or Mago or Wolfkrone. He barely plays, time wise, compared to them. In an interview with Tokido and Mago, all three were asked how much they play. Tokido and Mago basically said, "As much as I can - gaming is a huge part of my life." Sako said he plays about an hour per day.
If Sako cared and sacrificed the way some of those other guys do, he would be much better than he is now, and quite possibly the undisputed champ. But that's his choice, and I totally repect that. I mean, he looks like he's well into his 30s, and he's married.
For what it's worth, I also much prefer to play long sets at the arcade or online or whatever. Playing someone for five minutes in a tournament really can't compare. Tournaments are awesome, too, but it's a very different thing.
@Poe22222, since AE came out, Sako said in the Famitsu interview that he plays it around 5-6 hours a day. He spends an addition 1-2 hours playing shooting and action games. source:http://www.hitcombo.com/1news/interview-de-sako-suite/ (it's translated in French though)
winning EVO does wonders lol. no way in a million years would they vote fuudo's fei to attend GGs over mago's in japan. like #8 said, im not too interested in these characters, only akuma sakura and sagat. no ken abel ibuki etc.. could be dry, but the hype will help im sure
i also find it hard to believe sako only plays 1 hour a day. where does he have time to hit training mode? his execution is too good, with too many characters for that to be true.
Holy God Momochi had to go through a 300-person bracket???
man thats the Momochi im talking about.
@NvhA #36: Youtube search Sako Yang, and you will see that Sako is sick with Yang. Still those crazy combo, crazy pressure, but more solid and less rush down and vortex type.
I main Cammy in Vanila because i watched Sako's cammy video. And as soon as I heard that sako main yang in AE, I went for Yang. Lulz
Looks about right, but where's Neurosis or Shiro?
