You kidding? He was using Ryu and Ken. I love Poongko as much as the next guy, but what I really want to see is a pro player give up their time to try out the Tekken characters and show what they can do.
God this game is gonna be so sick, well it already is
As much as hate Ryus and Kens online, if it was my very first time playing a game I don't know nothing about, I'd definitely pick characters that I'm a bit familiar with. In this case, any Street Fighter character would do.
@2
Agree. My question is, Is there a Tekken site that shows how the Tekken characters are coming along?
Don't get me wrong, I'm on PS3 right now Greasin' fools up wit Hakan. So i'm a old schooled Capcom fan.
But this is supposed to be SF VS TEKKEN right?
So if Poongko shows up to a Baskin N Robbins and "machines" a oreo blizzard with pineapple. They put it on their front page too right? No!
It's about the Ice-cream...er..Game!
How does King work? Does he still have his link throws? Whats HIS super? He's been out since the beginning of this.
We've seen Ken/Ryu's supers, charged up supers and we've seen the mechanics through those two again and again.
How does Steve work?!?!?! What HIS charge move??!?!
so many godly players here that they dont want to see ryu and ken..
@7 well you can be sure if PoongKO showed up to said baskin robbins, and then beat the reigning fat-ass shake chugging champion of the world in an ice-cream shake chugging contest 4 times in a row, he's gonna be plastered on every ice-cream related front page there is.
@2
...What does his character choice have to do with Poongko testing out the juggle mechanics of the game? Clearly you didn't read #1's comment before going into Complain Mode.
@7
If you had been paying attention at all you'd know that King does have link throws, and his super has been seen since the first week he was revealed. At least take a LITTLE bit of time to look around for your answers before complaining. But what, does that take too much effort?
He's less afraid of trying stuff because he's not getting kicked off when he loses unlike everyone else.
@#12
mvc3/ST people can die in about 2 bnb if they get them off and them games are fine. But atleast you can change your character to try and recoup.
@#16
just cause removing linking doesnt auto make it easier for beginners, Games like darkstalkers and mvc series had the same chaining mechanic(magic series) yet them games can be much more daunting to beginners compared to sf4 series. Plus it is a faster paced game, so having that slow ass linking mess wouldnt bode well, it would ruin the flow doing so. And yes even dhalsim can chain his normals, looks very funny.
The combos seem very MVC like, meaning u dont really have to time your combos.
Dont take my word for it though, but can anyone confirm one frame links are out of SFxT?
Ryu's Cr.LP to Cr.Fierce didnt seem like u need to time it at all because it came out so fast that it was like a chain combo.
@#22
My post above yours mentioned the chaining mechanic :P Thats how it is currently and they dont plan on changing it.
Whats so great about 1 frame links? Even the mvc games had combos that had a tight frame window when going for non standard combos. With that in mind sfxt should have their own different styled tight frame links if you are looking for input challenges, but their isnt any plinking like in sf4 last ive heard.
Yea the magic series priority system is like LP>LK>MP>MK>HP>HK in that order. You can skip ahead forwards in any order, but you arent allow to chain in the reverse order(unless you are able to link if applicable)
So that Clp>Chp just works like it was a target combo.
@23 thats because once ONE characters life bar is drained in this game you lose, not like MvC3 where one character dies, and the next one comes in. The game is designed to force frequent tagouts to keep your characters life bars as high as possible.
The most useful vid yet.
Things I learned
you can use tag like a psuedo fadc so you can be safe but you can continue to apply pressure.
You can come in with jumping attacks
The pace of the game will probably be fast
You can bait with the tag system
I think poongko showed the MECHANICS very well maybe you dont like his character selection but that has nothing to do with the mechanics of the game engine
Mechanics= how a game plays
@15
What was the 1st line in my complaint post? Here, i'll bring it down here for you...
"Agree. My question is, Is there a Tekken site that shows how the Tekken characters are coming along?"
Since you KNOW where this info is, while I CLEARLY and earnestly don't, why not share the info?
Or was it easier to just try to "check" me?
@17
That would make sense....I especially like how you over simplified the solution!
You get 1 point!
But focus for a second....
My simple point was that ALL we KEEP seeing is Ryu/Ken maybe some Kazuya. Well, there was even Steve.
But we SEE it here.
So, you recommend that I shut up, wait months to buy the game THEN "figure out if their moves are intact"?....You know what,
I'm taking that point away
@18
um...yo mamma?
Why do I need to be a fool? Cause I asked a question?
Did I offend you by talking about Baskin Robbins?
I apolgize. I should have said Cold Stone.
Go be mad about something else dude. You heard that Americas Credit rating dropped right?
There, NOW you got a reason to call a total stranger a fool.
please take out the stupid dramatic launch! i dont want to see that thing every 8 seconds.. annoying, tekken tag had a really smooth launch that doesn't kill the pace of the game..
Oh gosh finally, someone who IS NOT afraid to try and test out the new mechanics in this game..
