He should have been DQ'd for using Phoenix immediately!
First, Jay has admitted that Phoenix is broken and that his win is almost 100% attributed to her.
Second, if a broken character is in the game and they're not banned, and you're not using them at the highest level, it's your own damn fault if you lose.
Third, if you're pissed about people using an unbanned, unbalanced character, cry more.
Fourth, Jay is above and beyond the best/smartest Phoenix player in the world, so he deserved it.
Not using a top tier character in a tournament if you're good with them is the equivalent of being in the military and charging into battle with a sword (which is badass, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Chu... ).
Another analogy would be a sports team sitting their star player in the playoffs against a weaker team to make it more even.
there are other non-phoenix-top-tier-character and teams that consist of those. top 8 showed it, half phoenix teams, half not. and pheonix is boring to watch, to play and is a missdesign in herself.
there is a difference between "using a good character" and "hoping on the train".
With the arrival of UMvC3, a lot of these "top" players are going to fall off the face of the earth.

It's not in this video, but right before this on the stream, he was detailing Winner's Finals, and Rog had said the same thing to him, though without the *bleepin* part. My favorite was when he apparently said "Get up. Get up." to him, lol.

As much as it is boring to see phoenix to come back and destroy whole teams, if you think Vinscent made it to top 8 from phoenix alone, then you are only kidding yourself. Vinscent is a quality player, things like mentality, execution, gameplan etc weighs way above Phoenix.

WTF?! People complain about Viscant using Phoenix Yet PR Rog's fine for using DANTE AND WOLVERINE?! GTFOoH! They're all f**ked up. Viscant was clearly the better player. He won the his title convincingly. And PR Balrog is still a beast for his performance, as well!

Right because Wolverine is real respectable with a protective tron assist and Dante never ending combos and mix-ups require so much skill when everything can be connected double tapping and quater circling.....Phoenix is the best but not everyone can play her where was PR's Phoenix? Where was Jwongs? I mean they all played Mag, Sent, and Storms in MVC2! respect my azz those five bars and snap outs are a bitch not everyone was willing to take the risk and they lost! and Do I have Pity? hell no! Disagree with the haters. Viscant may not play the game the way you (or me) prefer, but he played it well. Hopefully they rebalance this game well, 20-30 usable characters at the highest level instead of just 10-15 would be nice but maybe TOO ideal haha.

Great player great mind, but it's just a bit weird that one already wins because one wastes its XF early against a Phoenix team.. ah well, that is vanilla mvc3 for you.
Viscant looks like a cool guy and I'm glad he won. Sure, Phoenix is OP and all, but it's no like Viscant was the only one allowed to use her. Besides, if it were that easy to win with Phoenix, then what happened to the other tens or hundreds of Phoenix players that entered EVO? why only two of them (other than Viscant) made top 8? why didn't we see, say, 31 Phoenix teams in the top 32?
Haters gonna hate, but at the end of the day Viscant did what he had to do to get the job done and I respect that. He deserved to win.
