Tip from Jason24cf and Rafael2487.
Psh, an 8 year old prodigy.
Random hits with Hulk, mashing Heavy, and very simple combos.
Should have made my little brother attend EvO, he'd of gotten into top 48 too. xD
people need to understand one thing, noah isnt a prodigy his an average player, he didnt do brilliant performances, all he did was getting random hits with hulk an sentinel an proceed to do basic combos, the only reason people give him credit is cause his 8 years old, thats not enough reason to overrated a player, his average, he do well but is nothing especial at all, its cool an good that the kid play but dont overrated him for been 8 years old
Yeah cause you all made top 48 out of 1500+ people. People need to understand that he is an above average skill level player and stop being but hurt that an 8 year old is better than you. He may not be on Combofiend level but hes still good, remind me again how much farther mike ross got using hulk.
ill just add this Interview Daigo Tokido Wrapup

That interviewer, I swear I recognise him from somewhere. Wasn't he on TV a few years back?
@5
Why the hell do you care so much? On every single post mentioning Noah there always seems to be someone here to remind us that he isn't prodigal. Honestly, why do you care? Why do you feel the need to put down a little kid and people that just want to support him? Some people on Eventhubs are honestly pathetic.
Someone putting down an 8 year old...bitter and twisted. :/
I love how people flame on Wong for making excuses but nothing about daigo!?
"He's a sponsored player! He better be preparing and doing his homework!"
From the interview pre poongko, I'm most worried about poongko, I've never played him.
Post poongko a$$ beating. Uh Seth is very rare character I don't ever play him.
Uh I couldn't concentrate cuz all the USA cheering, I train for that but I wasn't prepared. Huh?
Way to punk out daigo the kinda beast umehara. Lmao.
someone talk to viscant?? you dont have to like his team (or his vest) but his marvel video helps the community.

Daigo choked in the finals. If i were him i would have picked Ryu vs Poongko or Guile . Poongko frenetic play just mesmerized his offensive Yun .
Has for Latif . Just choking . The guy was so free vs Fuugo. Mago made bad mistake . Like picking sagat or U2 that he never used anyway lol .
I feel like Daigo was more dominating with Ryu than he is with Yun and agree he should have switched after that first game. Although I'm sure Poongko knows that matchup just the same if not better.
Did anybody interview Spooky at EVO? I'd Like to get his thoughts on the event, while at the event.
@ SHOGUN
I was wondering if Daigo was letting the world think he was just playing Yun, while secretly keeping his Ryu up to date, or maybe another character we'd never seen him use.
Surely Daigo had to know of Poongko's performance at Shadaloo Showdown. Perhaps he was too headstrong at showing his Yun would succeed where the rest had fail.
Oh well.
Yeah that's true. Shiro didn't switch back either in that match with juicebox Abel. Probably felt like they put all this time in with this new character that they had to continue on even if at risk of being defeated. But still go with what your comfortable with. Playing Ryu would have forced him to play more methodical, but yeah oh well. Poongko and Latif are beasts in their own right.
I think you guys are overlooking a great big thing with Noah and that's the mindf*** factor. It's similar to playing against a Dan player, the whole match you're thinking to yourself "I don't want to lose to an 8-year-old, I don't want to lose to an 8-year-old..." and then... guess what, you've lost to an 8-year-old because you took your head out of the game.
@#18
keeping his ryu upto date doesnt mean anything if he didnt bother to use him. Secret weapon should be used as a last resort, there is no next time until next evo. From now until the next evo people are gonna give daigo more crap than he was already given by his peers.
Him switching to Yun was supposed to be a sign of him being the best and picking the best... and he going to play at his peak, so people wont have room to doubt him and talk trash about him anymore(something of this caliber was mentioned in a previous interview with him about his switch to yun). And then this happens, although he still placed very well, people arent going to view it that way if he aint #1. Too high on the pedestal and people awaiting the downfall.
#4 and #5 are unbelievable.
Why do you guys feel the need to put down about an 8 year old? He made top 48 at EVO, knew basic BnB combos for his characters, and knew how to play the game well enough to get farther than a lot of people that were over 2 to 3 times his age. So why do people like you two have to pop in to leave negative comments about a kid that shows incredible promise and talent?
Yes, his style of play was simple, yes, he didn't do the best combos possible, but he managed to get wins at EVO and advance farther than over a thousand other people. But no, apparently him being called a prodigy is some sort of insult to people like you, the kind of people that sit at home and feel it's necessary to negatively critique a child. Seriously, get off your high horses and quit being idiots. Is it really that much of a bother to people like you to just be happy for Noah? No one is asking you to shower him with praise, but there's no reason to drop comments about how "he's really not that good" or "he was just being random durr hurr". Noah is 8, leave the pointless armchair conquistador act for someone else.
He's being referred to as a prodigy because of the mass amount of potential he shows at his age. If he can do well enough to get top 48 at the world's largest and most important fighting game tournament at 8 years old, imagine what he can do as he gets older, as his reactions and knowledge of the game improves, and he steps up his game to new levels.
Lol @ angry posts from angry bitter ppl that will never be pro level. Eight year old or Daigo, just keep hatin...
I'd also like to add that Daigo used his best character, and tried his best to win! Justin claimed to pick a character that he basically didn't know how to use! Big difference!
Daigo basically says "Poongko was a beast, and I wasn't prepared!"
Justin basically says "Mike only won because I picked Yun"!
Again... Big difference!
Where is this Justin interview yall are talking about?
Poongko used to play Ryu, he and Daigo played in a tournament with a Ryu mirror. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ynmpwR...
So I think Poongko would know how Daigo would use Ryu and knows how to counter attack him but we can't tell until Daigo use Ryu against his Seth.
And Seth Killian was telling why Daigo used Yun, Daigo was not tier w#0ring but rather he chose a charter that suited his play style back when he was younger and dominating. Unfortunately Daigo came up short.
@25
It was a old interview from a tournament match he lost to Mike Ross. It has no relevance in this conversation, as it is the EXACT opposite of what Daigo said!
Daigo response = classy and puts blame/reasons for losing on himself.
J.Wong response = excuse of picking "random John" to discredit M.Ross win.
Not sure why the two post fight interviews are even being compared because they are Totally different.
@#25 I'm guessing there're talking about this interview..
http://myeg.net/article/article_detai...
@#26 I think the main problem was Daigo wasn't prepared for Poongko's high risk play-style. Daigo kept trying to rushdown Poongko instead of baiting him into making mistakes. Will be interesting to see the rematch but who knows when that'll happen. Hopefully before Evo 2012.
Umehara was dropping combos too, A LOT during the finals. I'm pretty sure that if his performance was not like that and more of what he did in NCR9 or ReveLAtions, I am quite sure he would have done better.
Poongko was not scared to be risky and that paid of against Umehara, but that tactic showed the down side against Fuudo, and Fuudo destroyed him by reading him and punishing him. In the end all performances was so good and so much hype. I hope EVO 2012 will be better since it's the last EVO before the world ends :P
And since there's a new patch coming I wonder how it will change the players new way of playing their characters. Adon needs a buff!!! (Especially U2)
I noticed that during the Pre-grand AE final Daigo interview, he was visibly exhausted. He had that swollen eyes look when one is lacking severe amount of sleep. He looked as if he was struggling to stay awake and alert during the conversation with Big Boy Alex. Jet lag and sickness? Possible.
It was noting that Daigo looked much better post tournament, even though he placed 4th, still looked quite happy. Same couldn't be said about Mago, who looked very mad and pissed, and a hint of sadness. Tokido... Well, let's just say he always has that MuderFace on.
@#36
Seems to be the norm for daigo to appear sick looking on the stage, probably investing too much time playing the game and not watching his health.
Alex uses difficult language when talking with Tokido. Probably made Tokido 2nd guess his English speaking abilities I don't like when interviewers talk like that to people who don't speak English as a first language.
Also when he interviewed little 8 year old Noah, WTF was he talking about his "black buddies" at the 1:10 mark?
@ #22
Not really putting anyone down. Especially because of their age.Just calling it how it is. And it’s pure hype because he’s young.I’m sorry but it’s true. And I fail to see how just making an accurate observation on his gameplay was ”negative”. Hell, even you said it was simplistic.
Also, on another note. Things aren’t always all rainbows and sunshine.I’m sorry if it’s somehow morally wrong to simply express my opinion. Not like I’m writting to the poor kid and telling him he sucks, or like I’m ever gonna do anything about it.And not like I unsulted him, like you did in your msg towards us. Then assuming anyone is on their ”high horse” and calling them idiots? And IM the one with negative things to say.... yeah.
If anything people like you are putting this kid on a ”high horse”. So be it ’negative’ or ’posotive’, people are just going to say what they think, get over it.No need to set a bad example and be an ass to people that are just giving their opinion.
I’ll even say it again, with no disrespect whatsoever, pure hype because he’s an 8 year-old. Prodigy? No. Prodigy in the making? Possibbly.
People taking things too seriously, damn.
I WANNA TALK TO DAIGO UMEHURA!
