General Skirmish, a poster on the NeoEmpire forums (link has NSFW language), was nearly stabbed, but his Mad Catz Tournament Edition FightStick actually ended up deflecting the knife of the would be mugger and he avoided serious injury. Here's part of the story.
I was heading over to Kyzer and Rev's yard today. Because Kyzer's stick is being repaired by Giga D and Rev's stick is missing in action. So I offer to lend them my TE which I hardly ever use because I built myself a nice new stick.
At about 30 yards away from Kyzer's house there was this bridge that is really poorly lit and narrow I had my phone out as I was using the GPS to locate Kyzer's house as I [have] only ever been there once before. While trying to go up the bridge some [punk] on a BMX said, "Stop" and I slowed down on my bike. (Which is kinda stupid since I usually don't slow down for anybody) ...

This story seems a little fishy. Why would a guy on foot try to mug a guy on a bike? Why would a guy on a bike stop cause some dude told him to? Why is your phone potentially worth your life? Why would you ask to be stabbed? Why would someone stab you through your bag?
@ 9,16 and 17. It's worth pointing out that the victims of Black muggings are often Black themselves. These seemingly random acts of violence are an act of malice often used against those from similar backgrounds( young, male and black). So lets not contribute to the hysteria and fear perpetuated by the Mass media.
Secondly statistics like those presented can't be taken at face value as a mode of damnation. Mainly because they ignore every other social statistic i.e the disproportionate numbers of Black boys permanently removed from education. No education, no job, no hope, no future; it's also worth pointing out that it's a minority in terms of numbers who are responsible for the majority of violent crimes.dude
Anyhow dude you forget the first rule when someone you don't know asks you stop. You don't unless they know your name and a phone is never worth fighting for. You were lucky this time, go safe.

I don't know why some of think this story is fake; why would anyone make something like this up? Plus, my uncle got robbed at the ATM the other day and he was inside his car. A black man walk up to the front of his car and then to the driver side. At first he was smiling so my uncle thought he was probably going to ask for change. Out of nowhere he pulled out a gun and told my uncle to give him the cash. My uncle did as he said and as soon as he got the money, he fled. My uncle didn't follow him either because he had a gun. My uncle called up the cops on his cell and drove to a nearby plaza.

you absolutely right on that. i got robbed at gunpoint by 4 guys probably 15 minutes after midnight of april 1st goin to the 2nd about 4 years back. stuff like that changes a person life.
luckily my direct deposit kicked in that night, so i couldnt cash my check in at wal-mart, so i only lost my phone and 10 bucks i already had on me.
It's sad anyone would try to prove this story wrong. Come on, does he need to post his police report also to prove the cops were called? Does he need to post a picture of his wounded hand? Jesus Christ people, what are you guys? Defense attorneys?
