Since Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition will be the last entry in the SF4 series, but some fans wondered if Capcom would still patch/update the game if major problems arose. Christian Svensson recently jumped on the Unity Boards to field this question and answer a few others.
Capcom said that this would be the last iteration of SF4, but is it possible to release more characters, modes and costumes in Arcade Edition afterwards? — JiCi
Svensson: I suppose theoretically possible but that's not the plan currently.
Considering Oni and Evil Ryu were only recently released, should a glitch/bug/exploit arise, how will it be handled? — xRELLIKx
Svensson: Obvious exploits we could address as needed. That said, given that the system has been in the arcade for some time, I'm not expecting anything to be broken.
When will we hear more about Street Fighter 3 Third Strike Online Edition? How come it wasn't at Captivate?
The reason it wasn't at Captivate was because they were showing off two other fighting games SFxT and SSF4AE at the time and didn't want it to be a fighting game overload at the event. — TAS
Svensson: It'll have its day in the sun soon enough... and TAS is right that we wanted to make sure it wasn't overshadowed by Street Fighter X Tekken and Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition.
Capcom dont close your doors knowing them it will probably take a decade for them to release a new street fighter
at least make more DLC characters in AE so we can get by...
Take my money, my stuff pls... More Characters...
(Stupid fan boy blinded by onos trolling)
"That's not the plan currently" means that they haven't ruled it out, either. We COULD get more DLC but right now they're not thinking about that, they're focusing on SFxT and 3SOE. Hell, the AE DLC isn't even out for another month and a half and people are asking about the next one. Of course they don't have any plans yet; they play this kind of thing by ear and see how AE does. As they add more and more characters, each new character added represents exponentially more work. When they released SF4, they had to test each character against the 24 other characters. When they released SSF4, each character had to be tested against 34 others. AE meant that each had to be tested against 39 others. And testing isn't just "spend a week playing matches... DONE". It's an exhaustive process where if you don't do enough, you end up with major exploits like in MvC3.
If they ever do make more DLC for AE, it'll probably be, like, TWO characters after months of testing.
■Good too know TAZ still cradles Capcom's ball s**k when it itches.

If you guys think this is the last version of SF4, then I think you guys ate really blinded by the trolling. I vote for an anniversary edition to pit all 3 versions if each character against each other. Fantasy matchups would keep this game alive till 5!
@ 6. We would be, except we, you know, pay for all the crap they manufacture.
(3s isn't popular, i feel for you guys, but SFIII isn't going to be in the spotlight IMO
PS: Has desk got his hands on AE yet? Hehe.)
@1: What's the point of a trailer for a game that's essentially already been released?
Moreover, why are you fanboys so anxious over it? It's going to use the same netcode as SSF4, so...why even bother buying it?
If Capcom is smart, they'll add something to DLC AE. People who have access to AE already may not want to download it if it's the exact port from the arcade. Or it could destroy the arcade scene all over again after people download AE. I think an addition in DLC AE could attract or convince more people to buy it.
How come the site where Capcom news usually comes out first is the same where people ask stupid questions?
"When will we hear more about Street Fighter 3 Third Strike Online Edition? How come it wasn't at Captivate?"
Really? This wasn't answered a week ago?
@6
PC sucks for fighting games but is way better for just about everything else.
I want a Third Strike Online Edition Trailer already.
