xShonuffx has won the first Marvel vs. Capcom 3 guide competition here on EventHubs with this Thor submission and takes home the $50 prize for April.Thor is a mobile powerhouse Tank who is able to deal an insane amount of damage with short and simple combos. He is perfect for players who want a no-nonsense, straight to the point damage dealer. He is a grappler and is able to do his command grab both on the ground and in the air. He is able to fly which is rare for a grappler. He even has an 8 - way dash rivaling even that of some of the faster 8 way dash characters. As of after the Sentinel Patch he has the highest health in the game. His Hypers all do good damage and can be set up for nice DHC set ups. even as a back up or anchor, Thor is a great addition to anyone's team.
Lastly, big shout outs go to Zombiebrian for not only coming up with this idea, but also contributing to the prize package.
thor guide is nice. glad to see the prize going to Shonuff hes a good dude.
So can people put ones now? Can I put up a M.O.D.O.K. or is it too soon?
Shout out to xShonuffx and congrats on the win. You've done Thor proud; I hope he'll shine more with the help of your guide.
@12 lol actually just for the frame data, and numbers yes but much of the statagies and tips is just through experience and web searching and a lot of Thor gameplay.
@11 I hope so, since after the guide i've been playing Thor more than my main team, he is a lot of fun when you use him right. You just got to get use to him. It will probably be awhile but I think sooner or later someone will unlock his hidden potential, a lot has been unlocked so far.
Congrats! Hope you guys keep doing this, it's a great way to get the regulars around here more involved.
(And here I thought Thor couldn't win anything :P
All jokes aside, might read this - need a 3rd when I return to MVC3)
Congrats. He pulled off an amazing guide. It was very well done.
I didn't forget anything, the way I wrote it is fine. And no, I'm not wrong, they are brackets in the UK. Just like we spell 'tire' tyre, 'color' colour and so on.
If you are going to attempt to be a smartass and call someone out on their spelling, you might want to make sure yours is perfect first. 'Parentheses' is the correct pluralisation of parenthesis. Oh, and before you make a bigger idiot of yourself, we spell 'pluralisation' with an 's', not a 'z'.
@24
What? When did I ever critique your spelling? You were using the wrong words, and you left some out. Learn the English language, idiot. Also you accidentally spelled pluralization 'pluralisation'. Why don't you proof read your comments next time? Also I'm glad you admitted that they are, in fact, called parenthesis.
Thank you Remster! Can you believe how idiotic comment 25 is?
"Oh, and before you make a bigger idiot of yourself, we spell 'pluralisation' with an 's', not a 'z'."
His response:
"Also you accidentally spelled pluralization 'pluralisation'."
Unbelievable.
Yes, I just picked up a UK dictionary and, shockingly, it's spelt 'pluralisation'. Guess what? It also includes TYRE, COLOUR, and NEIGHBOUR. What am I trying to explain to you is that we in the UK spell some words differently than people in the US. Not incorrectly, DIFFERENTLY. We also have different words to describe the same things. We call 'diapers' nappies, 'gas' petrol, and 'parentheses' brackets.
This is the last I will post on this topic, regardless of how retarded your future responses are. Accept you are wrong, learn from it, and think twice before you correct anyone else.
(Uh......whoops? I use parenthesis like thought bubbles, if there's no parenthesis then Hakan is saying it. Didn't think it would cause such a fuss o-0
Mainly because there's no italicization for comments.)
I wish SRK's mega guide has nearly as much information as this. Is there any chance that they will integrate your guide into theirs?
These comments are hilarious. Congrats to xShonuffx though.
@50Sent #19 I wasn't gonna say anything until I seen your rant about grammar with other people. I appreciate the feedback but could you be a bit more respectful when doing so? No body is perfect and the guide can be changed at anytime to make it better but simply dissing me and my educational background which you know nothing about is'nt gonna help me, the guide or the community improve and get better.
I am aware the paragraph is clearly in roughdraft mode and that is because the guide is not completly finished, even though I won the contest. I have more stuff to contribute but due to school and life, some things have to take a backseat. Still I appreciate Catalyst for the reward and I plan to keep it up to date the best I can.
Not trying to be funny, but I think it's just petty to disrespect people for something that could have been a positive critical feedback but instead was trolling at it's best (or worst).
As for everyone else, thanks for your feedback and respect, I do appreciate it.
@39 Thats a great compliment because i've seen the mega guide and thought it was pretty good. I think one of the problems with guides like these is that if a character is not remotley popular at first, the lack of content and contribution suffers. Thats why we find more stuff on Magneto, Doom, and other characters because these are the characters that get played the most so by nature the community just starts to find things. The latest information (Not confirmed) I found out from the SRK forums is that Mighty Strike may has armor properties but im still testing that out. To me it just seems like it just has a lot of active frames and a big hit box.
congratulations.
