Updated: Official patch notes were added into this story.• Fixed bug where a cross counter and X-factor activation would cause Ryu to float if using the B or Y assists.
• Fixed bug involving snapping out Zero during the activation of his Shadow Clone, which was disabling control.
• Fixed bug involving the hit time for Captain America's Shield Slash against Ryu, Amaterasu, and Hulk, which was allowing an unintended combo.
• Fixed bug for displaying more than 128 victories in a game lobby.
• Fixed bug involving Haggar blocking an attack in the air, immediately after using the Hoodlum Launcher.
• Fixed bug for displaying consecutive victories over 99 in Player Match.
• Fixed bug that allowed an infinite combo by Amaterasu against Taskmaster (Standing), Amaterasu (Standing or Ducking), Zero (Standing), and Shuma-Gorath (Ducking). Bug fix involved Amaterasu's Solar Flare attack (x5) and Power Slash combo.
• Fixed bug where Spencer's Bionic Maneuvers would cause Viewtiful Joe and Arthur to be stuck in the ground, when used as part of a combo with Haggar's Rapid Fire Fist.
• Fixed bug where Spencer's Bionic Maneuvers would cause the damage to display incorrectly, when used in a combo with Haggar's Steel Pipe and Rapid Fire Fist.
Earlier, it was reported that Amaterasu and Captain America's infinites were removed, and that Zero's Shadow Clone automatically disappears when he performs a snapback. The latter of which was shown in this video by UnrealEnTiTy0. You can see the Amaterasu infinite no longer works in this clip, created by kingdhoward and pointed out by Boba.
Easy all of the glitches desk discovered will be patched..
Cmon capcom hire the guy for god sake.
Don't understand why people keep saying "Capcom hire desk". First off Desk doesn't want to work for Capcom, and second they have already contacted him and been informed he is not interested. You trolls need to stop posting that stupid request because it doesn't mean a damn thing. Even if they hired him another person would be finding glitches in a different game.
I been f*ckin wit capcom for a good long time now...like 15 years...and they way they been treating marvel is outta line.......how do u give patches that the consumer must figure out what they are for?????.......is this supposed to be part of the game....finding out what they patched 3 days later???? i love this game no matter the amount of hate it recieves and ill still play the sh*t out of it everyday...but g*ddamn capcom...act like u give a f*ck and let us know what your doing with the game I waited impatiently for 10 years to comeout......are new costumes and dlc chars just gonna show up on xbox live without a notice?????? Someone help me make sense of this... >:|
Ya, to an extent I agree with #8. It seems pretty odd to release patch's without a log or notes to inform people of what is being fixed. To be honest I've never played a game before that didn't have a change log or patch notes after any sort of update.
i rarely comment on here because im not a complainer but........we haven't heard about any dlc chars and event modes just show up as well as the worthless shadow battles that pop up with out notice............i wonder if this is their marketing strategy to not say sh*t and have us find this stuff...i guess its good tho cuz maybe tomorrow new dlc chars will b up.......lol
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UVWYZv... <- Here is my video showing proof that Captain America's Shield Slash loop/infinite and Zero Sogenmu Snapback Glitch is fixed.
Captain America infinite... Fixed?! Whaaaaaaaat?! I just spent the entire week trying to get the timing down for it!!
ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHSOIJV;J,RSIJR[ORJOEJ,JISRJOV!!!
I really dislike that Capcom releases patches without letting their customers know what is going on. Capcom, take notes on Blizzard please.
#14 I really don't give a sh!t how I look to trolls like you. Nerds on every post say something about "capcom hiring desk" and this story has nothing to do with it. Do me a favor and don't even respond youngster, no one is interested in seeing your "butt hurt" responses... we got over that in middle school.
Actually, most of the glitches were already known of. Capcom had planned to patch them at a later time.
Also, shout outs to fixing that broken ass Captain American glitch. The dude is lame as hell and has 1 combo that is an infinite. Ever since Justin tried to use him we got scrubs everywhere who don't want to learn anything but how to start one combo and make sure it kills your character since they can't play anything else.
Doesn't seem like this patch will be anything like the one that brought about the Sentinel nerf, amongst other various changes. If I'm not mistaken they released one big patch which actually had some fixes in it that we could quantify. Aside from that, they released a patch specifically to fix the Spencer glitch that Desk made so popular and now it seems they're releasing this patch just to fix the remaining Spencer glitch victims and the Zero snap back glitch. I doubt we'll see anything aside from those 2 major fixes which really didn't affect anyone besides the people who were playing against Desk for that 1 day. I'm not going to say it is a waste of time but I would be much more interested in hearing about some DLC for this game.. especially after being ignored all week after Captivate while you announce breaking news story after breaking news story for games that you didn't just release to the public.
I'm not sure if they will remove the DHC glitch -- it's been integrated so firmly into tournament play by this point it's better off as an accidental feature now
(WOOOOO FRANK WEST UNLOCKED OH YEAH
*Wakes up*)
They nerfed desk's glitch supers OMG
But seriously no one really complained about these just the fact capcom got embarrassed by Desk glitch videos more than likely and before anyone does this he was really the only one I've seen who can pull it off it was banned in tourney (supposedly) to discourage people from the Zero glitch and no one really uses capt to begin with.
#35 I would hope they keep the DHC glitch intact it's a genuine strategy at this point to build a team that has one. Considering the amount of zoning out that can happen what's better than tagging the guy zoning you out dhc glitching and killing his character, I love it.
Did anyone tried to do Capt's infinite by jumping? Didn't someone stated Capt needed to jump and use shield slash to continue the infinite on some characters?
I believed the first time they patched when they said that was the plan from day one. now you're gonna have people not wanting to share things like dhc glitch and 'save it for a major'
"I'm not sure if they will remove the DHC glitch -- it's been integrated so firmly into tournament play by this point it's better off as an accidental feature now"
What? No. A couple months of tournament players abusing an imbalance in the game does not make it "integrated firmly" into gameplay whatsoever. Even if it did how does that actually make it "better off" as an accidental feature? It imbalances the game and makes no sense, and it's not as if it's particularly fun or requires strategic use. It just gives Sentinel players another brain-dead easy 100% from anything too. The fighting game community needs to get over this completely illogical set of assumptions about bugs.
Bugs are as stated. BUGS. ERRORS in the game. They are not supposed to be there to begin with. This is why I don't understand why people say MvC2 is so much better. The game is a unbalanced bug fest! Capcom didn't have the options to fix the game like they do know, and so, people just took advantage over glitches and bugs. Now that they have the technology to patch their games, and fix said bugs, they are catering to scrubs? How is that catering to scrubs? Do you think if MvC2 was brought out in this day of age, that they would allow the game to have all those bug/glitches in it? IMO take advantage of a glitch/bug, no matter how hard it is too pull off, is stupid
Infinites are not supposed to be in the game PERIOD. Apperantly when capcom, listening and actually paying attention to the community when people post bugs and glitches, tries to fix said bugs/glitches is making the game more scrub friendly?
Man I wonder how MvC2 would actually look like without all the bugs/glitches and some actual character balance... Oh wait, thats MvC3
i made fun of you Chosenst. get over it. that has no equivalent to me being a scrub, a youngster, little, immature, a troll w.e. i must be a troll if you're getting so upset, and even though that wasn't my intention, im laughing about it now.
what im trying to get at is: get off your high horse "bro". i made a comment, and you automatically assumed things without knowing a damn thing.
i dont wanna waste anyones bandwidth anymore so ill get on topic,
previously, when dlc wasn't even possible, glitches stayed in game and that was that. you had to live with it. whats the point of fixing EVERY LITTLE glitch in the game? including infinites.. it comes with the territory. that was a staple of mvc2 gameplay.. lets cry some more
Ya just stop posting scrub, you're a waste of my time and nothing you're saying even makes sense. Take your college degree and go be an immature troll somewhere else. Glad it took you like 4 posts to finally talk about the topic that was being discussed here.
Thats the thing. IT WASN'T POSSIBLE. But now, with the technology we have, it IS POSSIBLE to fix glitches. For example, You think capcom wanted the Zero Snapback glitch in the game? I'm sure marn could easily pull off that glitch, if he decided to use it in tournies and started winning every tourny because of it, its okay right? Because it comes with the territory?
@57 thats the thing initial R, first its the zero glitch thats found, then its another, and another , and another, at some point, I believe you just gotta accept it and run with it. marvel 2 had tons and tons of these, and its still a classic. no matter how much patches capcom comes out with, you'll never have a completely perfect game. that being said though, the mvc3 release is still "new" so updates wouldn't be a bad thing... I just don't believe it should be so heavily depended on
@dhcwhat
I kno what you're sayin on the mvc2 tip, but still, MSS ran rampant because of that. On a game that looks as good as mvc3, do we really wanna start seein the same broken characters over and over?
yeah why not patch Captain Americas infinite, even though he has NOTHING else going for him. Phoenix doesnt have a infinite, so that obviously means she needs no adjusting whatsoever.
Thats just fckin retarted, the infinite didn't even close to break captain America, should have let him be. I honestly don't think this team knows what the fck they are doing with their own game.
So many people want capcom to hire desk but does he want to work for them? I mean like if he did work for them, he really wouldn't have any glitch videos and there fun to watch. He does have some sick combos though but imagine capcom discovering all of them with desk, he wouldn't have much to show us.
WOW chosenst, dhcwhat1 said only one thing & you went absolute apesh!t. If anyone's the scrub here it's you buddy.
Anyway thank god they're removing infinites & gamebreakers, nice to see Capcoms support the game.
My lord, people like throwing Desk's handle around...
I am sorta surprised they removed Ammy's infinite on account of Seth mentioning she had one before the game even released. I wonder how long it was planned on being patched..
And as for the DHC Glitch...as annoying as it is to see it done one you and watching a fully healed character go down in one go, I think it's sort of a legitimate reset tactic. If capcom leaves it, it won't ruin the experience for me personally, though I know a few people won't agree.
Welp, there goes Captain America.
R.I.P.
'Good work, Soldier.'
*sigh*
I usually try to defend MvC3, since it's such a fun game to play, but god damnit Capcom, you're making this hard for me.
Random updates without even telling us what has changed? Really?
That's just unprofessional, no matter how you look at it.
Capcom better stop with these shenanigans.
lol @ people complaining about capcom fixing the game.
That is all.
Capcom's on top of their s**t. Hopefully patch notes will become their standard from now on.
They only thing keeping Capt going sigh as for Zero that combo was impractical and only good for trolling hard to do in a tourney an supposedly it wasn't even allowed plus you have to be on point with it for it to work anyway and most opponents won't let you do it didn't get the need o patch those since I haven't seen people complain about those two.
thank u more of a balance but it throws of what ive learned with cap and zero well not so much zero but cap yeah
wow, this game isnt even 4 months old and we already had 2 "bug" patchs. It just shows that this game was just rushed out the door without any kind of testing.
now if they somehow find a way to make the online better i'm totally happy with this game
it's hard blocking BS zero jump dash H, dash around mash H and hit you can't block that sh*t properly online
if it's a good zero no problem but when i lose because i can't block it properly because of lag n stuff i get SALTY
and no i'm not pulling a dsp here, everyone who plays online should know what im talkin about
who am i kidding? next post:
learn to block scrub......yeah suck my deeeeeeck :D
@83
yea, i dont know how people can try to bs themselves. I have seen it too many times, anything that involves a teleport has a 2/4 chance of hitting even though i smelled it a mile away and im blocking before he even reappears.
But that still doesnt explain why i cant join/invite people to my games.
@82
enjoy retardation.
also, @82
or it could have something to do with the game having a decently sized cast, 3 characters on EACH team, each with three different assist types, DHCs, ETC... plus many many different systems under all of this... so yeah, they obviously didn't playtest it because there have been a few bad bugs found. some, granted, seem obvious.. but our testing audience is the world, theirs is a small secretive team.
@82 and @87
we didnt get a new glitch/bug/infinite video every few days for sf4 did we?? and what did they patch in sf4 other then fei longs loop? it doesnt matter how many systems are in the game, if they wanted that much depht that means they needed to push it back and FIX IT not drop the game and hot fix it every week.
chickenwings
why does it matter if the gltiches it's a matter of if they fixed them because they weren't all game breaking and the few that were got removed soon after discovery, plus this isn't like SF4 we don't have DHCs in SF4 we don't have X-factor in SF4, we don't have snap backs, and the last game that did have most of game was broken and unbalanced
^stop crying, be happy that they're patching the game regularly and fixing the glitches.
Also mvc3 ssf4 are different games... Deal with it!
I am really disappointed in this community. People feel they need an exploit to make a character strong. Many folks here don't want to work hard to make a character stronger or play to a character to their natural strength and as soon as an exploit is fix they think it's the end of the character.
If you just pick up the character, and really try to learn the in's and out's of a character you can bring the best out of them. Stop listening to these so called pros that automatically cast judgment on these characters as bad and letting them control the community like this. Nothing in this game is ever gonna be absolute.
Not hating I just feel this community is better than that. I just want the community to step their game up thats all.
@91 93
nobodies complaining. I honestly dont care what they patch or change. Its just dum that there r&d team failed so hard. Watch the next patch nerf the tron assist, and maybe against x factor dark phoenix.
Load up a game of Mvc3 and look closely at the lifebars, in each characters lifebar there is now a black outline of what looks like a smaller bar in it....this definately wasn't there pre-patch....what is it? Something leftover from an earlier build???
@chickenwings
You're complaining about the product being rushed out when the thing is the R&D department doesn't play it as much as we have, with the characters we have in their current states you got to remember one letter of code can throw something out of whack that no one counted on. these are in every fighting game and one. The Bug team only have to make sure things work over 99% of the time that 1% just is discovered and quickly spread over places like Youtube, that's why MVC2 glitches are STILL being discovered because we didn't have a place like youtube to post this. With the Youtube revolution people like Desk have appeared, 10 years ago we might have not even known about Desk and barely heard of these glitches
No-one in the game needs to be nerfed, the only thing that does is X-factor, anything in level 3 wins by a simple magic series, it's pretty dumb. Make x-factor have the same damage boost as level 1 always, then everything would be fine.
Oh, and remove the stupid DHC glitch too. A guaranteed kill on any character with two meters is not right. Too many people whoring the glitch online.
@110
seriously, ur telling me that we played the game more since feb then capcom has in the whole development of the game? Cmon now. They rushed it out the door. Look at the dhc glitch, ur telling me NOBODY at capcom figured couldnt have found that one? they screwed up, thats it. Hopefully sfxtekken will get it right.
@113
Seriously dude... get a clue. You obviously have no idea whatsoever about a game's design, testing, and production. Even extensive testing cannot find every bug. Developers also have massive deadlines they must follow set by the PRODUCERS. (you know the people who only care abut the money it brings in, not the quality of the game itself).
And yes, seriously, we have been playing the game more since february when you consider over 800 thousand sales have been made on the game. So that's 800 THOUSAND people playing the game vs a small testing team from capcom (or any other game developer for that matter)
That's simple math even you can probably figure out.
chickenwings
over 100,000 copies were sold
if 100,000 people played for even 1 hour that means the game was played 100,000 hours that's 400+ days worth that's over a year of playing.......so yes I'm pretty sure we've played it longer than it's been in official development started(2008 is when they mention they started). Which DHC one? the Spencer Haggar one? because let's go through numbers, there's 38 characters that's a little over 110 DHC combos you can do, can you imagine programming that and they all have 110 as well as the original programing for Bionic Maneuvers(the one that gets people stuck) that's a lot of code you're looking at and no it's not a simple "Y" here and "N" Here mainly cause the animation for the impact animation(when your guy hits a ground it's a special animation only for Spencer's Hyper). The thing is they're fixing it.
I litterally am very dismayed right now. For some obscure reason my bread n butter with captain america has been removed. It had nothing to do with the infinite, it was just a nice combo i found online with 4 shield slashes;
c.L, s.M, c.H, H shield slash, j.M, j.M, u+j.H, M shield slash, j.M, d+j.H, M shield slash, c.H, H shield slash, s.H, L charging star (x1 or 2), hyper charging star.
Really nice combo, builds a meter and then uses it. Cant believe it's removed. Last shield slash they air recover before the shield hits on the way back. Uber weak.
Lol, so everyone that bought the game is desk and sits there looking for bugs all day. Ur average player bought the game and just mashs buttons, not everyone is a professional(if u can even call it that). One of the first things they confirmed were that infinites were impossible yet i see infinites in the game. Give it up, capcom screwed up, fact it.
Its not like it matter anyway, there patching the game on a weekly basis to the point where the game will look like a whole new iteration.
Just turned on MvC3. There's 23 MB patch for the PS3.
dunno what the big deal is with the patches...they did this with tvc UAS with a disk release. They removed some of the infinites and exploits. Made the game even more balanced :) Also people whining about the Tron assist should take a look at hsien ko with her level 1 armour assist and ask yourself which one needs nerfing more :P
@InitialR Since when newer versions of games are called patches? I mean, SSF4 is totally a different game from SF4. It added a lot of new content and improved over its predecessor in almost every single aspect. You can't expect any video game company to give you that amount of new content for free.
Believe me, I'm the first one to complain about disc locked 'DLC' and all that crap but calling SSF4 "just a huge patch for SF4" is completely inaccurate.
InitalR doesn't know the difference between a patch and a new version of a game....lulz

and still no spectator mode, priceless...
Chun-Li here with another report in Marvel vs Capcom 3.
It has been two months since the portal connecting the Capcom and Marvel Universes has been open, and things have really got serious between both of them.
Overnight, an unknown force only known as the "CapCops" sweeped the streets. A same occurrence happened the 22nd of March, when one of the "Big Three", Sentinel, has caught by the "CapCops" force. No one knows what this force is, but when it comes, things drastically change.
This was the same Sentinel who was interviewed during a brutal Akuma Infinite. We caught up with Sentinel since then, and he had this to say:
"SENSORS ARE NORMAL. SYSTEMS ARE UNDER CONTROL. DAMAGE OUTPUT HAS NOT CHANGED. SENSORS INDICATE SYSTEM REACHES CRITICAL DAMAGE MORE RAPIDLY. REPORT LOG INDICATES THAT WAS ONLY CONFIGURATION CHANGED. WHO WOULD DO SUCH A THING? SPINNY KICK TORTURE WAS ONLY ANNOYANCE. HEALTH REDUCTION WILL PAIN FOR A LIFETIME."
We saw our dear Sentinel fly off rather low to the ground, as if he had feelings of being sad. As we looked on, we spotted Akuma trying to practice his (used to be) Infinite, not since he was caught by the "CapCops" force. He refused an interview.
We caught up with Amaterasu and Zero, and it seems they were more than willing to talk about their experience with their changes.
Zero had this to say:
"First, I was accused of 'snapbacking my opponents to oblivion', (which was an HONEST mistake) and now my Sougenmu just ENDS when I snapback at all now? Where is the logic? Is this my 'punishment'? This can't be happening! There's no reason for me to go on!"
("HOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWLLLLLLLLLLL!")
"Oh, Ammy said that she misses her Infinite against me. It's okay tho, I'm not mad." *Pat pat*
We left them on that note, although we could have sworn we heard Zero shout something as soon as we were a block away. Our cameraman stated he heard "What am I fighting for?"
This just in!
Just to claify, any sightings of Jill Valentine riding in on Hulk has been reported as false. I repeat, ANY sighting of Jill riding Hulk is FALSE.
For the last story of this report, we met up with the one, the only, Captain America. As many are aware, he had one heck of an infinite with his shield slash, but that was taken away by the "CapCop" force as well.
"Soldier...if the battlefield has taught me anything, it was that you should never take anything for granted. One minute you are here, the next you're not. For as long as I'm standing, I will continue to fight. Do you see this A on my forehead? DO YOU THINK THIS 'A' STANDS FOR FRANCE? NO! I fight for the Red, the White, and the Blue! As long as I have my shield, I have nothing to fear! The CapCops can take away my Infinite, but they cannot take away my spirit!"
A tear-jerking speech, indeed. Defeat is an unknown condition of battle to Captain America, and he bid us farewell after his interview.
That is all for this report, Chun-Li signing off!
Breaking news!
It seems we have a clear picture of what the "CapCops" force is! Our very own Peter Parker sent in this picture-
*Crash*
What the-
Who is here?
...Deadpool?!
"Hey, Officer Deadpool here! Just to clarify, any report of Jill riding me is TRUE! 100% TRUE! She mounted me and I told her she pressed the wrong button. Hah...get it? GET IT!?! She didn't, and I ended up with a twisted neck. Don't worry, she'll be back..they always come back."
...Chun-Li, hers, back. It was a hoax, now back to your regular programming...
Ok Chicken, you are now just an official idiot. I'm not even going to explain what's wrong with your last comment because you're apparently too retarded to understand anyways with your one-track close-mindedness.
Was this patch announced previously? There hasn't exactly been a lot of time between this patch and the last.
