SDTekken's MarkMan was a guest on the Avoiding The Puddle podcast. Did he talk about get recruiting some more members to Team Madcatz? Hori is currently building an army and Madcatz might get left in the dust.
Clearly Mago should be the face of King.
Get it? Anyone?
as soon as i heard the guy say he didnt have enough def options and that it was hard to deal with fireballs in sf4 i stoped listening(good thing i got alot of info before then). If u have problems with it in sf4 dont even try to play sf2.
Hearing that backdashs still have inv frames is disappointing and to hear about the roll ability just turns me off all together. This game needs to be more agressive, that means they need to get rid of the defensive training wheels.
@chickenwings:
SF is a more defensive game to me. It's not as in-your-face as Tekken. The back dashes and rolls are what's in the Captivate build, the final product may not have them, and even if it does...SF x Tekken is its own game with its own mechanics. I'd like to play something different.
@chickenwings
Who do you main? I know where you coming from to a degree but I'd like to get a proper prospective. I don't see an issue with tech roll per se. Sure they diminish the fear of getting knockdown, but if they were tweaked in a way so that they function as a jab range evasive maneuver with no invincible frames, I think it could work similar to how it is now with a slightly higher rate of escaping. This is coming from a Vega mainer who can only imagine how bad it's going to be once the single button dive kick characters hit the scene.
I think a good way to encourage offensive play is to speed up overheads in general and maybe allow them to combo.
Well a good Sagat can do a lot with well fired tiger shots lol.
And I hate when people go ''I stopped listening when he said X''.. the podcast host wasn't even giving the info..Mark was the one talking 95% of the time *sigh*
But damn, a bigger roster than any other fighter on the market (40+?) Also he's wrong about supers lol, supers costs 2 bars, it'll be pointless to use ex if you can use supers for the same price. (At least from vids) Good stuff, A LOT of good info.
@5
what sfs have u played? Zoneing has always been a part of sf games but so has the rushdown. sf2 balrog is a prime example of this(even dhalsim has a crazy rushdown).
@6
To encourage offensive play they dont need to do much.
1)No more option select teching. U MUST STAND TO TECH(like older games)
2)NO dp shortcuts. dp's where never meant to be mashable.
3)stages are shrunk back to alpha/turbo sizes
4)no inv frames on back dashs, they still work to escape throws though.
5)add guard meter
the things i listed arent really a "nerf" to the defender, he just cant rely on the game defending for him.
Ur a vega main so u must watch super turbo vega and cry alittle inside(just like i do when i watch deejay and in way blanka/bison). His mix ups are insanely good in turbo but with sf4s "casual" defensive game u cant do anything with him.
@7
please fight a sagat,guile,ryu in turbo then compare them to sf4. i didnt say the zoneing game was non existant, its still very good but in comparison its alot weaker then it has been before.
Notes please! I have to go to work.
