An article discussing how Street Fighter X Tekken came about and what direction the developers are moving in was put up on the US PlayStation Blog.There are a lot of Tekken characters that are really difficult to get right in this game, but our selection criteria is to pick the most challenging to bring over because it’s more fun for us and I think it will make the game more compelling in the end. One example is Marduk, who is a pretty surprising inclusion. We have some other powerful grapplers in Street Fighter but nobody that moves the way he does. From E3 onwards we’re going to be revealing many more characters and some of them are going to be truly out of left-field.
You might be thinking there’s no way we can include certain characters but you could be second-guessing yourself further down the line. The Tekken universe has some supremely weird characters, including animals and even inanimate objects, and that might strike you as contrary to the Street Fighter aesthetic, but then we’ve had a character whose limbs can stretch and people shooting fireballs from their hands, so the addition of an animal wouldn’t be so out of place and it could make the game really interesting.

I'm thinking that as well. I wouldn't be surprised if we see characters like Karin or Alex for example.
Anyways, if Capcom manages to add Dragunov and Lee, I'll be happy. Like the article mentions, since they managed to include Marduk (who I didn't expect at all), anything is possible.

Only way I'd buy this game is if they put in Yun and Yang, and even then, that's just a maybe. If not, then no chance in hell. Sorry guys, but the gameplay just looks too... stupid to me. Maybe stupid isn't the correct word, but I couldn't think of anything better and stupid is the closest thing to the adjective I was trying to describe that came to mind. Cheesy maybe?

Agreed, but it's not going to be nearly as annoying as MVC3 I don't think. It's a lot more obvious who is going to be in this game then in that one: especially since Ono basically said the roster is so huge, that if you have a favourite character they're probably. And they're revealing in groups, so hopefully that means 10 at a time, and not 2 at a time.
they can add who ever they want, im just hopeing they go in and develop the tekken characters properly. I dont want to see sf characters dominate the game and when i think about it i can already see tekken characters haveing big problems with Zangief,honda and dhalsim(these are WW characters, they have to be in the game). They say that the tekken side is supposed to have that rushdown but after sf4 i have alot of doubts.
I hope they have more than two reveals because Zangief and Kuma were just sorta confirmed.
Here's hoping they improve on the game play and tweak the fighting engine before stacking up the characters. I'd rather play a new game with a few less characters then another version of SSF4 with a few more characters.
And ya, by the looks of it so far it seems like the Tekken characters are going to get destroyed.

LOL @ 10 at a time, yeah sure! how many characters do you think there's gonna be, 100? We're very far away from release date, if they start revealing characters 10 at a time, they're gonna run out of characters pretty fast, burning all the hype in a few months and then you'll have all the little whiny b*tches complaining because there aren't any more character announcements. I'd rather have small, more frequent reveals than a batch of 10 characters every blue moon.
#27 Jerry: This coming from somebody that only wants yun and yang in the game characters that a very small minority if even that asked form ssf4 AE. Not only that but the game has a capcom vs snk feel to it so if you think that's stupid then I guess your stupid.
The gameplay looks different and I bet your one of those people in the beginning that thought sf4 gameplay was stupid before it first came out now you riding its jock just like everyone else.

Even if Capcom wanted to, they can't put him in the game because he is not owned by Namco, thus they do not have the rights to him. I didn't think I had to elaborate on that. He's a character from a manga that made a guest appearance in Tekken 3. He is not a Tekken character. Understood?

For some reason, I think Tekken x SF is gonna be more interesting, so far, the gameplay videos do seem like a weird SSF4 mod. But again, can't tell until the final build and you try it yourself.

That's what I'm assuming as well. They probably want to bring in wacky characters like Dr.B, Roger, Mokojin and Alex. I honestly wouldn't want that if it means they take the spot of ones more deserving imo. I'd like this game to be comparable to CvS2.
I hope this game ends up being very grappler friendly. Capcom really doesn't like grapplers who aren't Zangief and I'm tired of that.
if elena and alex didn't make the ssf4 ae cut, they gotta be in this one. i mean, sup with the 3rd strike chars in capcom games, they get no burn in their other projects really. as for tekken, as long as hworang or baek make it, and of course heihachi..i'll be fine with it ;)

Have you ever played Capcom vs. SNK? This game looks nothing like CvS. If anything, it looks more like Street Fighter The Movie game.
What does it matter what percentage of the community requested the twins? How is that relevant? Are you still bitter they made it in instead of your favorite characters? Even if a small percentage of the community requested them, look at how many people are using them. In the end, it worked out for the better.

NO MORE EXCUSES FOR CAPCOM... There should be more than 40+ characters in the game.... They cant do that, then Capcom aint worth nothing.

dont just ask for blanka, ask for him to be decent in this game. Give him good normals like honda has in ssf4, speed him up overall(ie his jumps shouldnt float much, faster hop, faster ball) and give him csv2 lighting. Thats what we need.
If Bison and Yoshimitsu are not both in the game, I will not buy it.

when was the last time blanka placed at a big tournament(or made it out of pools)?? WHen was he seen as tournament worthy and how many horrible match ups does he have(people figured him out quick)? All u can do with him is sit there and if ur gonna turtle theres ALOT better characters to choose from, ie honda. Blanka is sub par, theres no way around it, look at his frame data and way his options. The only thing hes good for is online and thats because people dont like to fight him. The things i listed are things he had in other games, in hdr the ball is ALOT safer and ALLLOTT faster, yet he doesnt dominate(hes still low tier).
@ 64 Deejay was a kickboxer, a better team of capoeiras would be Christie Montiero/Eddy Gordo and Elena. Now that would be a team I'd pay too play.
I personally would like to duke it out with Adon/Sagat vs Bryan/Bruce, although I doubt they would put in four Thai-/Kick boxers.
Overall, I'm indeed getting the impression all those "requested" fighters will be those that were requested for SSFIV. Rolento, R. Mika and Karin come to mind.
Anyways, the way this game looks to be shaping up, I will definitely keep an eye on it. Can't wait to see how this game develops.
