Capcom Europe said today on their Twitter account that:
MvsC3 is out, done and dusted, no further announcements planned.
Many fans are thinking this means no more DLC announcements, or anything of that nature, but it seems odd that Capcom would release one costume pack for the game with outfits for only 6 of the 38 fighters.
Also, there's supposedly more Shadow Mode DLC packs on the way, one is rumored to let you fight against well known names from the community. Plus, Event Mode is said to go up to 50 things you can try out as well, and if that's true, it's currently not even at the half-way mark.
Previously, Seth Killian told GamesRadar that there are few characters at the top of his list he hopes are added into Marvel vs. Capcom 3, post release. Also, the company is aware that people want spectator mode for the game, and it's high up there for something they're exploring.
These things seem an odd contrast to the, "no further announcements," statement, so hopefully someone from Capcom can jump in and clarify. Unless plans have changed, it sounded like there was more stuff in the works for Marvel vs. Capcom 3.

Everything regarding this game feels like a comedy of errors. Just giant mistakes from the get-go. From leaked character lists to this news today, MVC3 kinda strikes me one giant screw-up. Every aspect of this game seems to have been mishandled.
Maybe I'm reading into it too much, but jeez, Capcom...deep-sixing this game is intense.
The most disappointing thing for me about yesterday, aside from the fact that Street Fighter x Tekken looks the same as SSF4 on the same damn engine, is that they didn't release a single piece of new regarding MVC3. Ya I know they had plenty of info come out yesterday and lots of previews... but really, you can't even release a costume pack or make an announcement about working on new characters in the coming weeks. It's the last game CapCom put out yet they gave it the least bit of attention on one of their most important days. Thanks CapCom.
mvc3 is done its ok game notin to big but street fighter x tekken looks more fun and less bulls**t and now ssf4 arcade edtion fk yea lets go
@Mascotray You're wrong, you didn't read close enough. You're taking the word of a FORUM MODERATOR over someone who works for Capcom.
@CapcomEuro: The embarrassing sibling... ¬¬ Correct your tweets to 'no more SSFIV planned' - there WILL be more MVC3 content coming soon..
@Unity_lianac not as far as i'm aware.
( No. This isn't happening. No.
No.
No.
No.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooo!
This game has ARTHUR in it! Capcom, give me some requested DLC chars like Frank West
*sobs uncontrollably)
even tho the tweet is an error, capcom still created a flop called mvc3..it hasnt even gone 1million copies, people have been selling their copies, so many used copies are being sold which means no profit going to capcom and MARVEL....i stressed out marvel for a reason...when u are making a game that involves two companies with major licences for that matter..u put twice the effort..mvc3 dev team did not..such a fan oriented and supported game, should not have 36 xters, mvc is an over the top title with 50 xters n above..instead making cheap n useless event modes, shadow modes to make cheap money for playing computer A.I..thats just lame..really. promised a robust storyline, what did we get..X-23 get Galacticus off my porch.endings..lol..better no endings but 60 xters..even if most are just clones of mvc 2 selves..but hey...i still play it once in a 4weeks..Title is just weak, SSf4 A.E will push it into d shadows once its out, Mk 9 too is gonna do that...hope they save it as soon as possible..
To all of the whiners that are going on about how MvC3 was a screw-up and that it's going to be pushed into the shadows or whatever...
No. Just no. MvC3 is here and it's here to TU4AR.
Both SSFIV: AE and MvC3 are fantastic games that appeal to different members of the community.
SF is a technical fighter while MvC3 is an over-the-top execution/combo oriented game.
I have little to no doubt more is coming fro MvC3, it is just as sure as the idea of AE coming to consoles imo.
Amazing how a simple error can cause all this. Sure SSF4 is done once AE comes out but I'll still play it.
@26 its not about whining, i love fighting games, good reviews or not, will give it a try, but truth is, never promise what u cant give, besides i'm looking at it from a developers point in terms of production, read the reviews...then u will understand what i mean...there is something missing, i love the game dont get me wrong, but fighting games succeed on fan service this days...Sf4 did that...ono added sf2, sf3, sf alpha xters and created a mainstream success...smart move...had a friend who hated sf4, makoto shows up in ssf4 and BAM! he got it without thinking...i want the game to succeed cos it gives room for more products in the future...Truth is the game still feels empty ...why do u think they keep adding events and all dat stuff...SF4 has survived without all that! they know they made a mistake, hence all the weak modes...one love to the community..yall buy the game! Sf4 is technical u can master a xter for yrs true!..but mvc u want to keep mixing it up, u can easily get tired of xters like that,Justin wong and co , have been changing xters lately>>>in Sf4 he has been using Rufus as a main for almost 2yrs...see the difference...long fix, quick fix...lol...still a great game...
the ONLY thing that really, really ruins the fun for me is the MvC3 online...since i don't have a big community here to play people face 2 face my only option is the online and for gods sake it's almost unplayable...not combo wise..i can still do those but the problem is you can't block right...sometimes i play few games and tell my brother or whoever joins me look now he's gonna "etc. etc." and exactly that's what happens but i can't block it anyways
really bad i hope they fix it
but the game itself and playing it offline is super fun
fawaz: "I still don't understand why they hired Seth in first place. Don't like saying that, but he's almost useless"
How could you possibly know what his exact duties have been within the company, or that he's been "useless" at them? If you're a Capcom employee claiming this, get verified and do it like a man. Otherwise, don't waste everyone's time.
As for the news story: the game hasn't exactly been a resounding success, so don't be surprised if the publicity turns elsewhere. But I think there were a few things in the pipeline already, so don't assume this means you won't get anything at all.
@32 Well he's the "Special Games Advisor" isn't he? But doesn't seem he's done much stuff other than being at conventions and tourneys. Oh yes, he probably "advised" the character Seth for SFIV. Lol. I don't question his understanding of games, but whatever Capcom has done since they hired him and some other jerks, speaks for itself.

Although it is hard to believe, I put more faith in the actual company than some moderator on the capcom forum.
@2 cause u said it first thanks for the error correct
I wouldn't be surprised if they announced more ssf4ae dlc content. As for mvc3 alot of people are selling that game or trading it in. Dont see how long mvc3 would last with dlcs. But its still early, only time will tell. AE's on the horizon and mk9, just dont see mvc3 doing so well, With just costume packs and other modes, its downfall is not having a bigger roster and spectator mode. Even glitchs will piss off the hardcore gamer. Ranked matchs are a mess and waste of time in my opinion. Dont think i played a fighting game with so much bugs and horribly glitchs. And tell me why do you have easy mode and normal. I still dont get it, combos are not that hard, why put easy mode. Just visit challenge mode for a few. No tournament mode, people seem not to play that in ssf4 anyways. Or replay modes. Its a long hard road for mvc3 if they wanna hang with the big boys in the fighting games community.
I have to warn you that I am a troll- I like to make my opinion ring out as a fact, because I'm ignorant like that and such... SF is so infinitely better than MVC3 because the cover art is better.. *FACT* jus sayin :)
Other news sites have reported this as well so I think it should stay up.
As far as MVC3 goes, I said it from day one, the Tatsunoko team just isn't the best team for this project. I know it woud seem a waste to not use your other fighting game team, but they just don't get the basics like good block controls, making light attacks useful and combos without forcing your opponent to lie on the ground for a whole minute waiting to get attacked. This is not fun.
Anybody else just wished they did what we wanted and added 30 more characters to MVC2 with new backgrounds and music? If Mega Man can stay 8bit, wouldn't MVC3 have worked as a love letter to the old-Arcades everyone remembers from their hometowns?
@HighonPCP
OMG you are so right about that. I've lost too many matches because of lousy delayed blocking and even a few because of laggy dropped combos. I just broke my headset last night because of that. You can not afford to drop combos on here, that sh!t gets you killed.
So it is, it isn't, so what. Couldn't care less. MvC was a sellout cash-cow that didn't do what it needed to. Take a look at all of the opinions here on this news post alone. That many haters don't mean that they're not good enough to play MvC3, that many haters means that there's something farking wrong with the game.
See, in my OPINION, a good fighting game is about give and take. Move and countermove. Reading the opponent and executing against them. With that said, MvC3 isn't close to resembling a fighting game - it's designed for a player to keep another player FROM fighting, to keep them in unrecoverable states for as long as possible. This causes all of the fun to get sucked right out of the game in an instant, because once someone has you, that's it. Kiss the round goodbye. There's no fight, just one-sided assbeatings. And that gets really boring after awhile, whether you're on the giving, receiving or spectator end.
It was one thing where the "broken-ness" of MvC2 made the game fun, gave it a life and its own subculture. Sure, you only had about 8 characters you'd ever dream of taking in a tournament (and 5 of those really mattered), but that left 48 other characters to play and have fun with. You couldn't pull infinites with everyone, and to do so with a character that could, you'd need to show a high level of skill in playing this game in the first place. It seems that they wanted to keep the spirit of MvC2 alive with MvC3, but they did it backwards. They made a game out of 100% shenanigans. It's balanced by making everyone a badass, and while that works to a certain degree, I still haven't seen another fighting game where pressing forward and a heavy attack of any kind repeatedly can practically guarantee success...except for this one. I wonder why that is.
Also, say what you want about Capcom milking SF4/SSF4 for every thin dime with costume packs...not only does that practice make its return here, but Capcom has the SHEER AUDACITY to ask you to pay a dollar to play a series of CPU opponents...and there's more than one pack of them. I can't wait to add up the total cost of the "extras" after everything is said and done. I mean, I remember being able to do that ten years ago, on Sega Dreamcast, in SFA3 Saikyo Dojo Mode...and that s--t was AS CHEAP AS FREE. You don't need to ask for a dollar to play the f'ing computer, I don't care what the AI is modeled after or how difficult it is. I don't give a damn about what title you get, either. Playing online is a chore in the first place, so who wants to show off some killer title when your combos won't come off right anyway...but, that brings me back to the point of the game being keeping one side looking like a total bitch for about 40 seconds at a time, so...
In closing, I hope most of us here enjoy SSF4:AE and the upcoming SFxT, because I'm sure going to need them to get this bad taste of MvC3 out of my mouth - it's like spending a decade on fire, only to have the person who used to be your best friend quench it by pissing on you, and that's after they took a good long look at both the water hose and the nearby pool before making that decision. Hopefully they learn a few things from this little exercise, and not spend any more time shining turds in the vain hopes that everyone will not notice the rank-ass smell coming off of that curious golden brick.
Oh, and Capcom: if you want to make more fighting games, get Ono to make them. He evidently knows how this particular art works, because Niitsuma sure as hell doesn't seem to.
Oh, and EventHubs...I love you for letting people speak their minds about these things here. Keep that up, you're necessary.
Seth, you made a Crap Game you better Fix it. hell if this title were not MVC3 your ass would be out of a job.
