@ 3 - there are 2 gameplay vids there, are you blind?
Looks pretty good, not as good as SSFIV but better than MvC3
More gameplay, including health bars and such, plus an interview with His Trollness himself:
I had a dream about this in 5th grade once.
as for the first video, Kazuya says that to Jin, his son, who have a mutual hate for each other. that soldier is most likely one of Jin's. Kazuya's father (or Jin's grandfather) is also part of the feud, but he'll probably come up later with like, Akuma or Gouken for added epicness.
i guess this is kinda like the 50% finished version of SF4 back in the day...because it looks kinda stiff and weird...yeah staraight up weird.
i hope it will become more fluid and they reduce all those effects a little...it seems like they're doing EX moves permanently
anyways i won't hate, i am a bit disappointed but it's ok
Kuma and Zangief better both be in this. It'll be Zangief's ultimate lifelong dream, to actually wrestle a bear in a fighting game.
Fei Long VS Law would be so freaking epic, not just VS but having them on the same team is a bruce lee overdose.
Been waiting all day for the announcements. It looks great. Any gameplay video coming soon?
Any word on III and further SSFIV announcements?
@ 36
Oh damn! Ignore me. The page didn't load! This is awesome.
Still, III?
Definitely looking good so far just don't lose steam keep those character reveals and gameplay trailers coming.
So does this mean there will be no Tekken X Street Fighter? From the looks of this, they are just putting the mechanics of both games into Street Fighter X Tekken.
Chun Li has crazy skinny legs. Ryu can charge his fireball to make it an 'ex' one? Didn't seem to use meter.
Dino stage seems kinda random to me. Just so they can make an Alex (Tekken) cameo? Or is it a nod to the Dino Crisis series? Would be weird since it has nothing to do with Street Fighter as far as I know.
Anyway, can't wait. Can't wait to see it evolve.
Oh hell yes for this. Hopefully I can team up Hwoarang and Elf or Steve and Dudley , Yoshimitsu v Vega anyone or Bryan v Sagat. This looks fast and more like the middle ground between marvel and traditional sf in terms of pace and comboability. If only Arc could announce a new Guilty Gear I will be in fighting game heaven for years to come.The artwork here is so much better than in SSF4 just hope there is some semblance of balance and the fact that the fireballs aren't that much of a problem makes me happy.
"His Trollness"??? I lol'd!!!! Well, the game looks good. Fast paced, lots of "custom combos" and less projectile oriented, will appeal to Capcom fanbase and to Namco fanbase at the same time.
About the clips, I know it's only an exibition and that we still don't know whaddahell will come up when two players fight to beat each other, but I'm HIGH! Kazuya with Lasers is tha man! hahahhaa
Anyone noticed they only showed cast from their respective franchises grouped together? Does that mean you cannot pick one tekken and one SF character? Just wondering
I'm calling it now ...
Rival Schools-style pre-set character matches. With tagging like that and the way they're revealed it's more than likely.
I wonder if there'd be like a four player mode where each person takes control of a seperate character.
Like it starts normal then you switch out and someone else is your tag character. < clarification
Looks like they perfected that Hakan-glaze since everyone has it in their EX now.
I think all the charge characters are now Hado-style. Kinda-like how they meant to normalize Supers in III.
I say this because Guile and Chun come in with charge moves they couldn't have been charging.
Alex and Hugo vs King and Marduk just give me the opportunity to witness this and I promise you will get my money Capcom.
@ #30
I agree, it seems off visually compared to the initial video they had last year. The HUD is too busy- wish it had a cleaner look and the animation did look stiff- not sure why cause im sure they just imported the SF4 animations for the capcom cast. Still wondering why theyre fighting in Jurassic PArk...
Also youre right that, its far too early to hate. Still stoked and hopeful- day one for sure!
@54 If Hakan is gonna be included in this, do you think he'd get EVEN OILER?!
So much juggling in the air, very much so like Tekken. But it's designed in a SF engine. It also seems like they're going to bring back ultras (shown in the announcement trailer) and supers (shown in this trailer). Yes, for people who thinks ultras are a scruby way for a comeback, you're going to have to deal with it in this game also. Tough luck.
It's cool Abel was popular enough to be in this game. I was only expecting the regular SF II cast from both Capcom.
I hope they add in popular fan choices for characters that didn't make it into AE.
Very solid info @
http://www.destructoid.com/preview-st...
Some juicy bits :
- Street Fighter x Tekken takes on the traditional Capcom 8-direction, six-button combat controls in a 2D space. It's a tag-based game, one that's smiler to Tekken's tag system -- the losing team is whoever has a single fighter knocked out first.
- One example is Kazuya's "Demon's Wrath" combat chain, which has been brought over faithfully to Street Fighter x Tekken. When I say "faithfully," I mean it -- the button layout for the combo is identical.
- there are six buttons players can work with as opposed to the established four of Tekken. The good news is that by using the leftmost four buttons of the Street Fighter layout (that's light punch, medium punch, light kick, and medium kick), you can pull off many of the combos you're familiar with.
The idea, says Ono, is to make a game that's immediately familiar to fans of both games. He even says that if Tekken fans want to completely ignore the right most attacks (the heavy punch and the heavy kick), they can and still have what he calls a "satisfying experience."
- One example was the ability to "charge" Ryu's Hadouken. You pull of the standard fireball motion and instead of tapping the button, you hold it. The longer you hold it, the more powerful the blast upon release. Hold it indefinitely, and you've got your "super" built up, it will automatically launch into your most powerful attack. Similar "charge" attacks were found with other Street Fighter character (Ken's hurricane kick for example), as well as in some on the Tekken side of things.
- "[For] the Street Fighter side of things," explains Ono about the character selection process, "what we didn't want to do is limit it to Street Fighter IV, because that's very easy, they're a very similar style."
What he says is that they have their "eyes cast on a much wider range, on the entire Street Fighter universe." We may even see some familiar, yet somewhat forgotten face: "There's certain characters that haven't appeared in a while or at all, and the people have been requesting them for years. We're going to do our best to get as many of those characters in, as well."
- Ono also tells us that Namco will have almost no input in the game at all. He says there's a "distinct line drawn in the sand, over which neither party will cross."
"There's absolutely no information shared," he says. "The first Namco will see of the trailer, maybe they'll see it at 1UP or Destructoid after the fact. We don't share that stuff with them."
"They also don't share anything that they're doing on their version of the game," he explains. "It was deliberately structured that way so that we couldn't have too many cooks spoiling the soup."
This is looking to be very, very good..
This is great info, I won't deny but...
Where's the trailer for the new Third Strike? Anyone? Anyone?...
The combos are kinda like Tekken, but the gravity seems a bit too intense. Reminds me a bit more of third strike/marvel juggling to be honest.
@72
Thanks for info, man. I guess I assumed that a game that should be out later this year was going to be previewed at Captivate 2011. Sucks that the opportunity was slept on. At least we have SFxT, but that's a long wait. It would have been cool to have some kind of debrief of what's coming for SFIII:3S Online Edition (unless this is some clue that it will be delayed).
Straight Bollocks.
You know it's pretty evident that Devil Kazuya is hinted in the trailer...I mean, his wings are shown as shadows right before he does his eye laser.
In contrast...when you look @2:01 of that same trailer...does it look like Ryu has wings from the way the water is forming?
Angel Ryu?
@77
Yeah, I was really looking forward to some 3S news. Especially after the picture posted on Ono's Twitter, but I guess I should know better by now.
I've got my fingers crossed for news at E3. Even if it does show up then it only means we're gonna have to wait til the end of the year for it to be done (hopefully).
I'll go back to my Dreamcast copy and Agetec stick for now.
The video at UK Gamespot has Ken doing Guren Senpukyaku with no cinematic, and the video here has Ryu doing shin shoryuken with no cinematic - I'm thinking that those aren't supers, but that Ultras now don't go into cinematics. The earliest gameplay footage showed cinematics for a super-type move involving BOTH characters - I think THAT is what is going to have a cinematic, and ultras are going to be like supers with no cinematic.
This looks potentially incredible, but it appears that there is a ton of work to be done before its ready. Animation is a bit choppy and frame rate is low. I expect they'll shoot for a holiday release, but I'd rather them get it perfect than sell it early.
I'm glad they are helping out you PC gamers for all their games now. I mean thats reason enough to support them already.
SF X tekken looks great and just like when vanilla sf4 was released it needs a little polish which is cool. Remember people didn't like sf4 in the beginning either. Anyway yes Finally my karin and rolento will get to bust some heads by what that interview said.
Said no 3s online wasn't at captivate but who cares right now. I know im getting 3s for sure but I want to know more and see more about this game.
I think I have an heart attack from watching the awesomeness...
I REALLY want that theme song. Its got me pumped up.
@84
When Ono announced it last year he said not to expect this title anytime soon, he said they would aim for 2012.
Woh...King grabs Ryu out of his air tatsu = AWESOME!
http://www.gametrailers.com/video/cap...
Take a look at 01:05
Am I the only one who cracked up at how Ryu looks when he runs in after Ken's Tatsumaki in the gameplay video?
This game is looking totally badass ^^ I'm praying our very own "prince of beauty" gets in, should do... he is an iconic original after all!
OOOOOMMMMMMGGGGGGGG!!!!! THIS IZ THE KING OF FIGHTERS!!!!THE BEST 2 FIGHTING FRANCHISE..IVE PLAYED EVERY SINGLE TEKKEN..AND EVERY FREAKIN STREET FIGHTER..THIZ IZ MY FRIGGIN AWARD!!!! WHEN THIS GAME COMES OUT I WILL ABANDON EVERY THING IN LIFE EXCEPT THIZ...I LOVE CAPCOM....AND NAMCO..NOW GIVE ME SOULCALIBUR CROSS DARKSTALKERS..AND I WILL TRULY SAY LIFE AZ A GAMER IS BEST BEYOND ANY AND EVERYTHING..LOL(my two cents)
If you're not hype for this, I don't know what's wrong with you. Those are some juicy videos. Nice to see the gameplay/graphics are starting to differentiate themselves from SSF4 too.
Hoping to see English voice acting soon. I don't think they're that far into voice acting in general, anyway. The Tekken characters (save Nina) sound the same. The SF characters sound like their normal Japanese actors.
@#66
Nice find, bro! I like the idea of bringing back some forgotten SF characters. I hope Namco brings in some forgotten Tekken characters for their version!
So if you charge an Ex move, it becomes a Super? Hopefully EX has the same properties as those found in SSF4 because EX are the Trumpcards of SF. But here it seems like they can be done indefinitely.:(
According to Gamespot, the game is less projectile oriented which makes me wonder how they will handle Vega and Gen. I'm pretty worried.
Looks pretty good. It's interesting that they have Bob on the Tekken side. Didn't realize he was so popular. Then again Haven't played a Tekken game since Tekken 2.
Wonder how they are going to implement Lei in this with his different styles.
1st Impression: Lots of juggles and the speed seems good. The combat looks at bit stiff and Nina's face is a bit strange. It's still in development though.
OH MY GOD!!! all this crazy good info at once, almost made me go #2, ha ha. ok. where do i start? i love the new trademark for this title, which is water instead of ink. still coulda kept ink. or maybe ink for sf, water for tek. aits all good tho.
love the new characters although i hoped to see heihachi make the roster. he'll still make it. i noticed that a lotta sf based moves look somehow flashier, more fleshed out.
did you see the speed at which abels roundhouse throw took. it was waaay slower than ssf4, and he was doing it in EX form too. speaking if which, the EX flshes have a little bit of a rainbowy color to them. i like it. its ok.
i love ryu's new moves, espacially the one where he switches up his shoryu into a metsu without activating ultra. that means u can do it anytime. great. also that kick he send you across the room makes the bounce nicely. i love it. and that roll shoould help getting outta wakeup trouble. tho, why didnt the show any other sf char new moves? do all char have a front roll, cuz in tekken EVERYone does. this makes me think maybe the others have it too.
i love it that its TAG TEAM now. yayyy. i'll be teamin up alright. that effective juggle system looks graet too.
wonder what's in store for the future. man if the world ends b4 i get to play this, imma be pi$$ed.
Am I the only one who feels like this game is lacking something? It seems far too similar to SF4 for my taste, and it's really hard to capture the Tekken style in this sort of gameplay. I'm not hating on the idea or the game itself, but with SSF4:AE just around the corner and 3S:Online in the near future, it seems like we may all have our plates filled with Street Fighter games. In my opinion, I'll probably buy SSF4:AE instead of this game, and wait for the Tekken X StreetFighter on the Tekken engine so I can actually feel like I'm playing a different game and not a variation of the same thing with new characters... who at this point seem a bit weaker.
Ryu and Jin
Gouken and Haihatchi
Akuma and Jinpatchi
Ken and hwoarang
Guile/abel and Brian/dragonov
el Fuerte and King
Zangief and Marduk
Fei Long and Law
Dudley and steve Fox
Ken and Paul Phoenix
cammy and Nina
mecha zangief (should play a little diff) and gunjack
looks like there adding in alot of juggles. Hopefully this game will be alot more agressive then sf4, ie no crouch techs, more/faster overheads etc.
For the cast im expecting all the original world warriors to be in(just missing blanka,dhalsim,zangief and honda) along with the 4 bosses(u know u need some bison in there).
One thing that would be really cool, but prob REALLY hard to do. would be to have 2 vs 2 online mode, as in 2 players per team. I think something like that would set this game apart from anythign capcom has done in the past.
chosenst
is it THAT hard to grasp? look at the trailers and tell me that don't work out good. it DOES. now, if you dont like it that you. cuz everyone has their tastes. and keep in mind after ALLLL you have seen and heard so far, the game is still in development. i was AMAZED by the info i got today from sfxt. but that don't mean they cant suprise me any further. ever listened to that fameous Meatl Gear Solid 1 intro? check it out. and pay close attention to the title
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6miaTf...
sad to say, but what happened with sf4 once super rolled around, thats whats going to happen once sfxt moves into the scene. dont get me wrong. there are still sf4 vanilla players online, maybe its the hardcore, maybe its the cheapskates cuz sf4 is what $8 last time i checked in a store. see parents get their kids the cheaper and olders stuff for b-days. i seen it. my girls couzin got dbz budokai2 for last christmas. anyway, but the majority of the scene moved on.
@122
There is nothing I said that should give you the impression of me not "grasping" anything. The game looks very similar to SF4 and if you disagree with me then you should probably have your eyes checked. I'm not talking about the mechanics, I'm talking about the aesthetics of this game; the actual artwork and character design seem like the same characters we've been using the past 3 years.
Either way, there will be crowds of people like you who are hyped about this game and will buy it immediately; and that is not a bad thing. I'm sure this game will be one of the more popular fighters in recent years but I'm also sure there will be quite a few people who will pass on this based on the collection of fighting games they have racked up over recent months. (MvC3, SSF4, SSF4:AE, 3S:Online, etc.)
Like I said in my previous post, I'll be more anxious to see Tekken x Street Fighter which is essence the same concept but on a different game engine. I'm in no rush to buy a 4th game in an 18 month period that all play on the same game engine. That's the equivalent of buying four versions of COD which I know the fighting game community is such big fans of.
lol did anyone hear Guiles suggestive sonic boom?
He sounds too suave. Lol
1. The health bar is DEFINETLY temporary. It looks horrible and it's hard to see your health in between the useless glowing bars.
2. I think this could be the definitive fighting game. It looks easier to control. Has everyones favorite fighters in one place and looks like fireball spam and Tekken Juggles have both been turned down to a happy medium. I seriously can't wait to see the final thing and play some Marduk/Rolento.
Ps. Marduk is SO the new Hakan. But that's cool cause I play Hakan.

The training stage confirmed
http://www.gametrailers.com/video/cap...
Not sure if that counts but since it's one of three stages, it's worth mentioning.
lets see as far as SF tag partners go Ryu/Ken,Guile/Abel,and i know 4 a fact Chun lis partner is Cammy wouldnt know any other or better tag partner 4 her than Cammy both arguabliy if not are the strongest female fighters on the SF side i just can't wait to see my favorite Thunder Thighed warrior and my second favorite letahl striking Blonde Arrow reak total HAVOC n the next trailer this trailer alone is to much hype 4 me to handle its fixing to turn into a WAR ZONE!
Please have Dudley so my Marduk and Dudley team can be complete.
It's also great to see that Capcom is going to have Evil Ryu in everything now. I guess he's getting the Frank West treatment.

i for one am glad the sf4 style of fighting is making a comeback in sfxt. in fact i've really gotten into sf ever since 4 hit the streets. i been at it the ever 1st day. dude seeing the trailers made me love it the moment i laid my eyes on it. i even walked 9 miles to the nearest store for it (yes, i do drive. it was a pretty day tho) why? because of how it is. it's pretty much the only style i favor besides tekken. if sfxt came out looking like MVC3 i wouldn't even bother pursuing this any further than i already have. sure i played MK, sf (2d), tekken and stuff but nowhere near to as competitively as this. and i didnt even say im disagreeening with you, im just wondering. if you feel this is getting old, why do you stick around?
I'm speechless. i'll probably play this game for the rest of my life.
For this game I want to see Cammy (SSF2), Fei Long (SSF2), Juri (SSF4), Alex (SF3), Elena (SF3), Hugo(SF3), Rolento (SFA), Karin (SFA), Cody (SFA), Guy (SFA), Geki (SF1) and Lee (SF1) in Capcom side. I know than Geki and Lee has little to no change of getting in this game, but if Capcom give them a new fighting style like they did with other SF1 characters in their transition to SFA and SF4, they can be pretty awesome additions to SF fanbase.
From Tekken, with have a lot of interesting characters to choose, personally I would like to see Jun or Azuka Kazama (not both), Heihachi, Paul, Marshall Law, Kuma, Jin, Zafina, Ling Xiaoyu, Lili and the new chick from TTT2 (don't know the name).
This is going to be a really good game, and it is fine that it will be release on 2012, because we have enough fighting games to deal with this year.
@19 YES. bob is cool, but I freaking LOVE rufus! he needs to be in here! I miss you in marvel 3, big guy(you too, juggy) T-T. also, whats the song from the trailer called?
4 player tag mode I promise this will be the big surprise for online and offline.
@143: I was thinking the same thing. You can't open a trailer with Ryu's face under a foot... Come on!
Anyway, Capcom's cinematics are so cheesey. I think the game play looks phenomenal. I can't wait to see it all nice and polished. I am really looking forward to this.
Man Juri has 2 be in this game!! For all of our (and Hwoarang's) sake! F**k Viper! Even though I hate MVC3, juri should have had that slot and no one can deny that at this point. So when she get's revealed, it'll have to wait until after Juri is in. Can't wait for this cheese to hit shelves in capcom's favorite month of the year next year!
There is now way kazuya is more powerful than Ryu.
and Ryu always needs help?? Thats only Kazuya men...
Cmon ryu spam that hadou!! Shoryouken when he jumps in.
DUDE!!! an awesome 2vs2 fighting game that is just the perfect balance form me, not too slow like sf4 and not too freaking quick to enjoy like mvc3, i just love this, i cant wait for it to be released! so freaking hyped!
now i just hope they release some characters i care about, none so far.
well chun is always awesome but that one was way to obvious.
i hope juri makes it in
It's about time Ryu and Ken team up lol. MvC2 didn't count cause they were trash lol.
Looks hype and Thawk a games artstyle doesn't make the game bad. MvC2 used a bunch of old models and still went down in fighting game history because of the game play. I'll take a game that play beautifully over a "omglookatdeezgraficz" type game.
The best thing for Capcom to do is get the standard world warriors in...plus characters from additional games that can be rivals for Tekken's cast, that would make this fresh and interesting. If they play similar to SF4, people who want new characters really bad would get it all.
This game does look faster and more technical, which I kind of like. I don't know anything about Tekken, how many characters are in the series and how many moves do Tekken characters usually have? I'm definitely hyped for it.
If anyone is wondering why it feels or seems similar to SF4, it's because of money. The close it is, the less they have to spend. They don't have unlimited resources, so they make the most of what they have.
Nina looks amazing....
I'm thinking of maining Nina and King or maybe Nina/Zangief. xD
"What he says is that they have their "eyes cast on a much wider range, on the entire Street Fighter universe." We may even see some familiar, yet somewhat forgotten face: "There's certain characters that haven't appeared in a while or at all, and the people have been requesting them for years. We're going to do our best to get as many of those characters in, as well.""
Is probably the most interesting thing that Ono has said. It opens the doors for a lot of SF characters that didn't make it into AE, despite any polls and the like.
It also opens the door for their inclusion in SSFIV:AE (since the game is using the same engine + adjustments to movesets) *if* CAPCOM ever decide to go back on the "No more adjustments after June" comment with regards to SSFIV:AE.
OOO MY GOSH its gunna be amazing love the trailer good lord thats hot
Capcom needs to do 2v2(as in 4 players in one match) for a online mode. People asked for in for mvc3 but in sfxtekken its alot more doable(atleast i think it is). We need to start asking now while its still in developement.
WE NEED REAL A REAL 2V2 MODE(yes, 4 players lol).
Anyone else notice how Ken keeps getting beat up by fat guys LOL. In the original SF4 vanilla trailer Rufus beat him up and no Bob XD
Karin/Lili vs Sakura/Asuka. WISHFUL THINKING, I hope it turns into reality.
And Bob needs Rufus. Blobs FTW!
Loving the gameplay, can't wait for more character reveals!
Lei and Fei all dei!
Haha, this game's gonna be great. Some of my friends are Street Fighter guys, and some of them are Tekken guys, so this game will take care of everyone.
Hell ya! If Rufus is in the game you know im gonna rock Rufus and Bob!!
I know I'll get flamed for it but honestly my opinion on this game still hasn't changed. It looks BAD the game looks clunky and slow and something about the graphics seem very unappealing. I still have zero hype for this game would have rather seen DS4 or a CvS3 but whatever. Maybe further down the road the game will get its improvements but as of right now I'm far from being impressed that is just my 2 cents.
On a positive note the trailer was cool just wish I could feel the same way about the game itself.
Please oh please put Alex in this game! Also, Gief/Dragunov, Gill/Ogre, Sagat/Bruce.
@57
Chun's spinning bird kick is the same, but that's the only charge move she has. However, Guile's two specials are still charge.
@180
You mean the bursts of light that follow every attack, which exist in every Street Fighter?
@198
Yes please.
Replace ink with water = check. (SF4)
Place 2 worlds in a heated battle with epic music = check. (MvC3)
Show only fragments of gameplay cause it looks clunky = check. (Tekken)
Hate all the juggling I'm seeing. Still gonna play the hell out of the game though cuz every other aspect of it looks so freakin good. I wish a fighting game would pick up where mk1 left off as far as realistic looking characters goes. Sf the movie game was pretty good in that respect too.
There is no excuses if the roster is NOT at 40 or more.. NO EXCUSES.. None
@Temtt
Yeah that was king's reversal. Unlike most of Tekken cast that could reverse, King was a bit limited. He could only reverse kicks. Sounds bad at first but, the difference between his reversal and others is once he gets that leg, you are not going anywhere. Normal reversals could be reversed if done correctly but king's could not be countered. He later got a arm reversal too but, it is limited only to the right arm if I remember correctly.
hurricaneditka16
im sorry to frickle you pickle here buddy, but sf the movie game was garbage in all aspects, through and through.
as EGM said "The game is based off of a crappy movie, which in turn is based off of a great game. It took the best parts of street fighter and injected a heavy digitized dose of jean claude van damme"
now mk the movie, THAT was a success
@200
ya know, that would fit the story better wouldnt it. but i want to see akuma and jin action or oni akuma vs. jinpachi mishima personaly. :P
@185
Don't know if you've ever been in a sports team and had your photo taken mid-game. But one thing you'll notice when you're running with one leg on the ground and the other off, is that one leg will look a lot bigger than the other. Partly due to perspective and also partly due to one leg being more tense than the other.
I doubt the Capcom artists took that much into account, but you can kinda imagine why one thigh is larger than the other, or appears to be anyway.
@213
Like I said in the other thread. Don't lie, you love it. :)
fkin epic am so ready for this game unlike mvc3 -_-
#133 for all the chunli and cammmy fans who keep saying one is the best and the other is the worst ever, they should play namcox capcom and see how wonderful they fifght together. Also in the ssf4 anime of them against Juri and on the ssf4 trailer, i luv them both
Because of that trailer ill be picking Ryu and Ken team often lol. I just love that side step kick from third strike.
I forgot badass they were together, i have been blinded from playing SF4 and seeing them getting picked so much.
OH YEAH Bob will Beat Rufus down anyday! And i wanna beat Zangief with King because Zangief stole King's signature move lol.
all this water kinda makes me wanna take a piss...
Hit you so hard you turn into liquid.
