It sounds like a PC version of Super Street Fighter 4 is in the cards. Capcom's Yoshinori Ono left a few messages on Twitter implying there could be a release for it. Why has it taken so long to announce SSF4 on the PC? — pkt
Svensson: We'll talk in a couple days.
Finally, the ESRB has put up a listing for a PC Windows version of Super Street Fighter 4, along side the PS3 and Xbox 360 releases.
The evidence seems very strong that a PC release of Super Street Fighter 4 is planned for the future, but fans will likely have to wait until Tuesday morning for an official annoucement.
Contributions to this story by CrimsonClaw, DarkSamus, Chaide, Andriand, Sp00kyFox and Bluth53.
"Some of the female fighters' outfits are form-fitting and accentuate their breasts and buttocks; before battle, the camera occasionally zooms-out from close-up views of flexed gluteus. One of the fight stages occurs in a distillery with equipment used for brewing and wooden casks labeled 'Scotch-Whisky.' The expletives 'damn' and 'hell' can be heard in the dialogue."
:D
Finally they get ssf4 & it'll probably turn out to be the outdated one how ironic, now where's Blankabeast to say "PC FTWZ!!1" while I play MvC3 & wait for AE & SFxT for CONSOLES.
Finally I can make some new costumes. Hmmn, I hope it gets the AE DLC as well. I'm going to buy it the day it gets released.
and I just gave up and bought an xbox a few months ago! It is alot better than pc so I don't really regret it.
The amount of people that couldn't even run the game at 60fps when I played pc sf4 was ridiculous and there was no way to tell until the game started. You'd have full green bars and then be playing in slow motion because their computer couldn't keep up.
This isn't an official announcement yet, so I wouldn't jump too far ahead about it being or not being Arcade Edition. There is no listing for Arcade Edition for the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 either, on the ESRB's website, and we know that's coming for sure.
On Tuesday, everything will be clear.
Im disappointed with this news. SSF4 should be exclusive for PS3 and Xbox 360.

Thanx for the credit for this story.
8am PST 12th April can't come fast enough for me.
Actually the 12th is my b'day so its looking like I am about to get the dreamiest b'day present I could ever imagine.
*drools all over my keyboard in anticipation*
Oh well I don't need the keyboard to play it anyway as I have 2 PS2 controllers connected to my PC anyway :p
What's the point in having it for PC, besides the mods?
Do any PC players actually place high in tournies? I wouldn't imagine so since there's no copy of SSFIV....
So what's the point?
PC games can't seriously be on this website and haven't had the ability to play the game we've all been playing.... That would be ridiculous....
It would be a waste of money for SSFIV to come out on the PC... Maybe Capcom is think that the revenue generated from the DLC will cover the cost of piracy...
@19
I ain't good enough to place in tournaments but I do have children that love playing Vanilla and who knows how good they could be in the future. Hell, my 7 year old can already finish Tekken Tag without continues at my local arcade (Pity they don't have SSF4)
"PC games can't seriously be on this website and haven't had the ability to play the game we've all been playing.... That would be ridiculous...."
Meet the ridiculous then, as I am exactly in that boat.
Plus I am looking forward to playing the game in SS3D (Stereo Scopic 3D) using my Nvidia 3DVision glasses and in 1080p (Something that PS3 and 360 owners can only dream of)
BRING ON MY B'DAY PRESENT!!!!!!!!
@UP So that means I'm ridiculous too. :D I have waited VERY long for this moment. :3 I kept watching this site so I could be ready when I can finaly get this game and who would have thought... Here it is. :D
But I really hope for a Cross-play... Multi on PC might not recover from it's nearly dead state without it...
I hope Ono gets to the bottom of this on April 12

Are you kidding me right now? I believe I've found something just as annoying as these PC users have been and that is the ignorant desperate fan boys who over think, over analyze, and over load these comments with retarded questions from so long ago that not even Ono remembers posting Sim blazing Chun or whoever the funk is already in game or have been announced. At best, it is a freaking alternate costume we haven't seen before. You people are worse than the brain dead apes who want to wish so badly that Gouken is Oni. -_-
I'm wondering who the brown thing belongs to between Sakura's and Dudley's heads in this pic: http://media.eventhubs.com/images/201...
@31: No, that's to the left of Dudley's head, the thing i'm talking about is to the right and looks like fabric with stitching. It looks a little like one of those things that sits on Gouken's and Honda's backs in their alt costumes, but it's just floating in mid-air.
"What's the point in having it for PC, besides the mods?"
I'm on PSN. Having to go back to playing on there when SSF4 came out after the comparatively good netcode of the PC release was not something I enjoyed.
That's just what Capcom needs, another million Street Fighter IV sales. I kid. TBH the more copies of the game they sell, the more incentive they have to make more DLC. I don't think Capcom would object to a couple more characters a year down the line when they know they can make $5 off each from millions of people.
I doubt they'll get AE, but regardless they can be happy now. I almost completely forgot people play SFIV on the computer though o_o
You know, I have a monster gaming rig that could run this game at 1080p with anti aliasing on, and yet I'm hesitant to consider picking this up after how TERRIBLE the PC port of vanilla 4 was. From the atrociously bad integration of an already bad networking system and DRM (Games for Windows Live) to the fact that someone's machine running poorly on the other end lagged everyone up (and framerate loss always seemed to result in dropped input) graphics alone don't seem to be worth the cost.
This is all in addition to the fact I'd lose my PS3 SSFIV costumes and would have to buy the same game a *third* time. Capcom really shot themselves in the foot with their terrible support of this game on PC.
Finally. Not only that... we can have custom made skins for Guy and the new characters now.
Word.
Its about frickin chicken lickin time SSF4 hits its FULL potential on PC!
Full 1080p looks beautiful on big screens
online worldwide
amazing(and yes some ARE AMAZING) custom skins

@19 Since when are tourney players the only ones that matter? Only a small percentage of the millions who bought SF4 and SSF4 end up going to, let alone placing in tournaments. I respect professional players, but implying Capcom should hold back a release simply because a playerbase isn't skilled enough? That's beyond silly.
Anyway, this is great news for people like myself who simply put, just prefer the PC gaming experience over consoles. I already own the game on the 360 and I'll gladly buy it (and the DLC) again on PC. I know for a fact that I'm not the only one in this boat.
Since most signs are pointing to AE being DLC, I'm seriously hoping that Capcom doesn't skimp out on offering the same content with a potential PC release. Seeing as how AE isn't listed separately on the ESRB site, I'll cross my fingers- but I won't be holding my breath.
And thanks for the credit, Catalyst!
PC players are just going to pirate it anyway so they shouldn't even release it on there.
@#42/BlankaBeast:
It hasn't been confirmed yet. Remember last time. That BS pretty much tore my soul out at the time, chill, everything is a lie until you have it in your hands.
@48 Some will, unfortunately. But there will be plenty more who won't. I recall many times when SF4 was the #1 selling game on Steam (initial release, and generally every time it went on sale). Those weren't pirated copies, were they?
I've always heard the argument "If people can get it for free, why would they bother buying it?" - Well if that was the case, nobody would have bought the console counterparts either, because yes, even they can be pirated.
No need to berate PC gamers because of the vague implication of piracy. It's bad enough when developers treat honest consumers like potential thieves. Now we have to deal with the gaming community doing the same? Nonsense.
YEAH... I am going to lose so many nights... again.
Please be easy on me if you play me. I didn't try the arcade version and it is been a while since vanilla =)
I wonder if Capcom found a way to secure the game against online hacked versions.
PS: I am only decent on keyboard
#49, Yes, I DO remember unfortunately, and you are right .. I always strongly thought it would/should come to PC, but totally underestimated the timeframe.
Either way, if it comes out, I will buy it the 1st day its available and will be kicking a$$ worldwide in full 1080p/Anti-Aliasing
I also encourage other console owners - like post #47 to buy it for PC if the PC can handle it(an ati/amd 4850 runs the game great) just because it really looks awesome on a big screen!
Whats up with the stupid pirating argument again?
You know what? 360 is so stupidly easy to hack, you think nobody has done it?
Even SF4's pirating served very well as some huge publicity. Whats the meat of a fighting game? Online play. The pirating can go far, but to get the full experience you need to buy it.
And its even more sad when people think pirating is "costing them". No, its not. With the Arcade Edition now, they can release the game on PC with a relatively minimal effort, which means low costs, and even if it didn't sold much they would still make a profit out of it.
And I hope it comes out. I don't support consoles. I want SSF4 as everybody knows it on my PC.
Oroku_Saki
see now, thats EXACTLY why they shouldn't release it on PC, just so a clown like you can mess with their ART. boy lemme tell you somethin, if i was ono, and found out you messed with my sh!t, id buy a ticket from japan, fly all the way to your city, sit through the raffic in a cab, stop by wendys's and have a spicy chicken burger with medum fries and a mr. pibb, then go to your house, hit you in your mouth with a 9 iron and go back home.
fuk all of you rat bastrads that hacked into sf4. get a fukin job you in-the-basement-dwelling-33+-year-old-nerdified-virgin-still-living-at-yo-mom

I reckon they'll lob u sssf4 but not AE :( I hope I'm wrong.
It will be regular SSF4 like the 3DS is. Hopefully I'm wrong.
I only looked through the comments to find blanka beast why because he made my day.

Awesome, I been posting here and ...waiting a while... for a long time, glad I made someones day too!

"1080p/Anti-Aliasing "
wait when was this announced?
just wondering because either way I don't care, people graphics don't matter unless you can't tell enemy from ally and ally from background(and Etc). seriously it's like everyone think graphics make the game not the game play or the experience you get from i
^ it doesnt need to be announced, Vanilla has it. It's PC.
Guys, it isn't as complicated as you're making it out to be.
Xbox 360 and PS3 get a free balance patch that turns SSF4 into SSF4: AE minus the new characters.
The PC gets AE minus the new characters.
The new characters will be DLC for every platform, including the PC.
Here is one example of some AWESOME WORK by PC SF4 players, top quality outfit mod pack, only on PC, this is just one of the better ones I can think of, there are LOADS of nice ones out there for most all characters too:
http://fc04.deviantart.net/fs71/i/201...
PC is FTW.
@cvs
Yes there is. In my country console games cost 3-times as much as PC games so every knows it is far better to buy a PC than console. Computer also serves for more purposes AND longer. BUT I don't expect any logical thinking from someone saying that SFIV has high requirements.
@80
My PC was a gift mostly for the purpose of staying in contact with family.
I am unable to afford a console but my PC is a very capable rig with GTX470 GPU, Nvidia 3D vision and a 3D screen.
Why in the hell would I buy a console anyway to downgrade my playing experience??
@85 Not my fault you probably don't know what it's like. It hurts when I could get one thing, and get an insanely GREAT computer for half the money, and go for the one thing. It hurts.
@87 FECK YEAH! (I still won't get it, however. I'd get it if a Geese skin was ever made.)
@91 Right! Consoles get obsolete and you have to buy a new one in order to play its games. And then there's backwards compatibility issues and so many others as well. A PC remains a PC. It only needs hardware upgradation with time. And not to mention that it's multi-purpose ;)
@92 Somebody understands! How many original XBox games can you play on your 360? How many original PS2 games can you play on your PS3? I'm fortunate enough to have gotten a PS3 with Backward Compatibility, but the vast majority of PS3 owners at this point don't have that option.
Computers are computers. Hell I guess consoles are too, but they're not nearly as flexible, upgradable, open or productive. I can play all the games I enjoyed 20 years ago on a PC, and I don't have to worry about my entire collection of games suddenly becoming outdated. If I need to upgrade, I'll spend a fraction of the cost over a new console investment.
Assuming anybody should spend an extra 300 or so dollars just to enjoy one game is ridiculous. Yeah, consoles are where the money is at. But I don't really give the average consumer too much credit in making smart purchases when it comes to digital entertainment these days. Then again, I can also blame developers for holding back on PC releases. SSf4 is the most prime of examples, currently.
I own consoles because of circumstance, so if I have the option I'll stick with my PC any day of the week. Everybody is entitled to their own opinion, but most of these anti PC comments are beyond ignorant.
They have a point on pc I went to El Salvador during the summer and managed to see some ps3's (fat ones) and they cost around 700 and the old ass games that first came out still run you at 60 so eff that. I can understand why people prefer pc and it's not racist it's discrimination there is a difference guys.
Goodie. Now everybody will pirate it again, further proving why Capcom should have never bothered with this in the first place. Bunch of clowns, go buy the game for once to actually support it.
New post on the Unity forums from a mod pretty much confirms it???

Well, over here in the UK its officially Tuesday! A lot of fans are going to be happy today, indeed.

Lol @ the pure retardedness of 94's rant. Nobody in their right mind would pay 300 clams to play one game. Good thing each console has a library of games to choose from. When the PC has exclusive rights to some of these stellar games then your crap will make a bit more sense til then just be happy this game is on the PC now.
Thanks, your worst nightmare Kenshiro.
It would be pointless if they actually release SSFIV and not the AE for PC. That would mean they actually had to take out content when they ported the game from the arcade version, instead of porting it "directly".
I'm glad to see this game coming to PC. PSN is plagued by slow ass load times and bad connections compared to what I experienced with the PC version of vanilla SF4.
Here's hoping they force fixed framerate this time around, so that when you face an opponent with a crappy computer and variable framerate, you won't be playing in 10 frames per sec.
Also, what's with all the idiots being mad because the game will no longer be console exclusive? A larger playerbase is what this game needs if you people want SF and fighting games in general to be regarded by the gobal gaming community competitive "e-sports".
@yes4me I think it's more likely to be pirated on PC so since almost anything can be pirated on PC and pirating is more popular on PC. On a console, people are less likely to do it.
@ 103 I said nobody in their right mind, regardless if that amount of money is expendable to them. That is insane behavior.
Sorry you don't dictate my tastes, I'm happy with the 25 games I have on tap now and there's about 30 more I want. Question whatever you feel will make your points valid.
It's true that an application can be pirated on any platform, but it should be obvious that it's much easier to do on a computer and console users are generally too lazy to go through the process (whatever it may be).
But that doesn't matter, they wouldn't release it on PC if they were worried about people pirating it, because it'll happen regardless. Releasing it through steam is OK, they have a lot of games in their market place.
I wonder why it is so hard for some people to grasp the concept that not everybody owns a console.
SF4 actually sold extremely well for a PC title, it's just that people don't understand the PC game market. The reports of it being the most pirated game of 2009 was actually a GOOD thing. In the PC game market, the number of pirated copies is directly proportional to overall sales, and NOT inversely proportional like you might expect. It's a representation of how popular the game is overall and the games that get pirated the most are also the best sellers.
Anyhow I don't think it is a bad move from Capcom. The transition was at least 50% all done already except fixing some bugs, adding internet, security and so on... If I can play SSF4, I will be happy regarless of AE or not.
now it is 222am PST. 6 hours to wait!!
Whats with the stupidity/ignorance filled in some of these comments like 'Capcom should never released it its gonna get pirated' 'get with the rest of the world and buy a console'
This is a good move for capcom and there are plenty of reasons why anyone can be exited for this news. Hell, I know for a fact that I'm not the only one that owns ssf4 on console and still hyped about a PC release.
beautiful graphics, waaaay better costume mods(for FREE), ease of accecibility from PC, no disc, steam, better online (for me, my PS3 is wireless)
To me, exiting a game and returning to windows kind of breaks the gaming magic. Arcade games need to be played on console. period. But if you have no choice it's a good alternative. I own both a good PC and console but I see no reason at all to buy the PC version. I have absolutely nothing to complain about with the console version. But it's a good move from Capcom. They will make a lot more money than the conversion will cost them.
PC fans you hear that you finally get to say it with me now
SHUT THE F*** UP!
