(leave hsien-ko alone, you're jellin' pretty hard @ my Dark Mistress!)
How many all girl combo vids has there been? And moreover, what's the ratio between that and male character vids?
The answer to those puts your complaint to rest.
Hsien-Ko: truly THE bottom-tier character. Hardly broken at all; in fact she's virtually unusable.
@5
Ahem i use hsien ko on my main team and trust me here golden swing assist can be used to beat the following gimmicks:
.Dark Phenoix Rushdown(but not her keepaway)
.Sentinal and hulk hyper armor
.Zero/Wolverine Rushdown spam
.Beam hypers(if used at close range)
.Doom assist Spam(can kill doom if hit assist and going into full combo)
.Dante teleport spam
Also hsien ko is good in her own right, she has good range on her normals, and can beat arthur in a keepaway game. and if she is stocked with 5 meters(for the hyper armor hyper) and has level 3 x factor, is literally unstopable
actually as soon as they were announced I made up my mind which team I would make. Viper, Ammy, Tron just because I love them all, before I even tried them out. I liked it even more because they were all female haha
I'd agree with 8. There's really no "bottom tier" in this game that I've seen. Only characters that haven't been paid attention to. Look at the Final Round 14 finals. Who would've guessed those two teams would be in the finals? Not me, that's for sure. Going off general reactions, I would've expected Dante, Wesker, Sentinel. It's all about the time and effort you put into the characters in this game and finding the characters that fit your style.
@8 No one is saying Hsien-ko's assist isn't good, but she as a character sucks. And this is coming from someone who actually uses the character on point and not as an assist character. Her problem is her damage is too low for a character that doesn't have good combo potential. Her ground mobility is piss poor. Her keep away isn't strong enough to win matches with and her health is unreasonably low for a character with such bad mobility and damage.
I love Hsien-ko to death that's why I stick with her. But honestly I don't know what Capcom was going for with the way they made her. Even is she had her vampire saviour speed, she'd be substantially better then she is now.
And she can't beat Arthur in a keepaway game if he puts the armor on or even just with a beam assist backing him up.
@11: Not to mention, she wears her dead sister's soul on a piece of paper concealed in her hat.
Major derp.
@11
I play Hsien-ko on point too and I find her damage to be fine. I rarely lose with her and play her in my own way which works for me. Don't want to be rude but maybe you need to change the way you play her to have success. I think every character is cheap in there own way in this game.
@13 First off, I never even mentioned my win lose rate with Hsien-ko so don't assume I'm bad with her and just using her wrong. Regardless if you can win with a character doesn't mean their good it just means you put in the work to make them work. I feel like you have to be a far better player then your opponent to win with Hsien-ko. Unlike Wolverine, Wesker, Dante, and Amatarasu where literally any idiot can pick those characters and body someone they have no business beating. Even if you think I'm someone that just doesn't know how to play the game so be it. But Jwong, who can make any character in this game look godlike straight up said she's the worst character in the game.
There's a reason no top players are using her and the only two notable players that were using her (Clockwork and evil Rashawn), already dropped her.
Now since you have a game wining strategy with her, please share with the community. Because no one else seem to have found it yet.
great vids beautiful combos and who cares if there women or men dude its a game i just see the skill in the character usage and that hisen ko was amazing now if u wanna complain about the chick characters just i have to say too much viper
i think hsien-ko is just unexplored and being conceptualized completely wrong because of how different she is.
complaining about her ground movement, combo damage, etc probably just indicates that you are probably trying to use her like every other character in the game.
for example, when people play zerg in starcraft, often times they dont constantly produce workers during each of their build cycles like protoss or terran do, they are played completely differently where there are times you NEVER produce an army and just build drones, and there are times where you only build an army and make 0 drones.
Basically what im saying is that when the mechanics of a character are completely different or unique theres no reason you should be trying to play something like you play everyone else. Would you say that fuerte should be relying on combos? would you say zangeif should be relying on combos? or what about MODOK who also has really unique mechanics, would you say he should rely on footsies? hell no. Hsien-ko in my opinion hasnt been explored enough yet in terms of mechanics in order to say shes bottom or top tier.
@17 Okay cool, but this game isn't street fighter. It's not deep there's pretty much four ways I've seen people play this game. 1. rely on a characters rushdown and offense to overwhelm 2. go for a mixup approach with instant overheads teleports mixed with cross over assist ect. 3. Keepaway tactics and 4.Baiting and waiting strategies. All the characters have a way of fitting into one of these play styles, even Hsien-ko and Modok. The only difference being the other characters can actually do what their supposed to do well unlike Hsien-ko.
By her moveset alone it's obvious she's supposed to be played at mid screen where her long range normals can be used along with light and medium anki hou. The problem with trying to zone people out with Hsien-ko is the randomness of her anki hou. One thrown bomb will give your opponent a free pass to come in trough what ever wall you managed to build. And her terrible ground mobility doesn't let her capitalize when she manages to get a dizzy. I've played in over 1,500 matches using Hsien-ko so I know good and well how the character works. I've tried playing her in more ways then one. Do I win with her? Yes, Do I lose with her? Of course. But I've played her enough to see where her weaknesses are, and I've pointed them out.
Zangeif doesn't rely on combos because he has the damage to compensate. Modok doesn't play footies because he has formidable zooning. ELF doesn't rely on combos because he has good mixups. Each one of those characters you listed excel at what their supposed to do, Hsien-ko doesn't. Everything Hsien-ko can do there's a character that can do it better, that's why she's the worst.
You can say she's unexplored if you want but I don't believe that, there's no way people haven't tried to figure her out. The thing is what people have figured out with Hsien-ko isn't a game wining strategy. I'm willing to bet we will never see Hsien-ko used outside of assist at high level play.
I swear I heard that before.... Oh yeah, She hulk... Oh wait... She is actually good, people just need to learn how to actually play lei-lei instead of saying she sucks... or you could just wait until somebody like wong comes and play her then copy pasta their combos, like most scrubs do.
@21 Yeah I hear you man, I always loved Hsien-ko and was hoping she'd be really good.
@22 I love when scrubs like your self throw around the term scrub like you're so high and mighty. What do you know about the character? Obviously not a thing since you didn't write anything constructive to disprove my point of why she's bad. There's nothing worse then someone who doesn't even use the character trying to say you need to learn how to play them. I've put in the time with Hsien-ko, more time on her then any other character. There hasn't been one video that showed me something about her that I didn't already know.
And maybe if you took a second to read instead of rushing to start crap. You would have known that Wong has already tried using her, which he then went to say she's the worst character in the game. So since you're so godlike and I'm obviously a scrub why don't you hit training mode with lei-lei and show the world what she can do? Oh that's right you won't because you're nothing but talk that wants to sound like he's a good player over the internet. Stay free and keep using easy mode characters scrub.
I never said I was High and mighty, nor was I directing my comment to you. BUT I have seen great Lei-leis and she is a force to be reckon with. Main Reason: Hyper Armor. Now if I wanted to really learn Lei lei, and was slightly intrested in the character, I WOULD go to the training room and LEARN her to prove to everybody that she is a good chaarcter, but Lei lei doesn't intrest me. If you want to get good with the character, GET GOOD, stop whining "Awwww she is a bad character" Hell no, find a way to make her good, find the team to back up her strenghts and weakness. You apperantly haven't been trying that hard enough bro. I know if I really liked a character, I would learn how to play the character until I know i'm good instead of giving up and saying "she is a bad character".
@24 First off I never gave up on the character. Secondly Hyper Armor only makes her assist good, which I've already touched on that, in a previous comment. Using Hyper armor just for the sake of using it is almost completely useless and here's why. Her MOBILITY sucks! You have five seconds to make use of her armor any character can super jump away from her and you will not catch up to them to take advantage of the armor. Unless you're playing someone that doesn't know how to react to the armor and blindly attack you or decide to block instead of run you won't get any mileage out of it. Third Hsien-ko has to have meter at all times to do consistent damage, without meter she is a joke. That's another reason you can't just equip hyper armor whenever you're in the mood.
Saying a character is bad isn't whining. It's a fighting game some characters are going to be better then others, it's a really simple concept to understand. It just so happens that Hsien-ko drew the short straw. Hsien-ko is a fun character to use with a weird playstlye I give her that. But it doesn't change the fact that she just doesn't fit into this games engine well. But maybe I'm wrong, some guy may randomly show up at a tournament and clean house with her. Even though I don't see it happening I'm willing to eat my own words if it does.
What is it with these people and all-female teams/videos?
