@MALDA
You know 3S plays more like a 3D fighter than a 2D one right? Tekken, Virtua Fighter, and Soul Caliber all have parries. They are all focused on mid and short ranged pokes, mixup dependent, ext... They just don't have "supers" and meter. Don't get me wrong I love 3S (even though I suck at it), but it doesn't play like a traditional 2D fighter.
Damn that was impressive. I haven't seen even RX with those type of set-ups.
To argue against the 3S fanboys, yeah it's an incredible game because you see something like what Kuroda does, you know what's going on and it's amazing because you also know only a handful of Japanese players can pull it off. It took nearly a decade for Kuroda to pull off something like that.
Whereas newer fighting games such as SSFIV, you see Ricky Ortiz divekicking and Daigo cr. mk opponents to death, you know what's going on, and it's not so amazing because it's something that you feel can be replicated.
In conclusion, the 3S fanboys can go shave their anus hairs.
Wardog, you know Urien is a totally mediocre character without Aegis Reflector right? Not only is it the most creative super move ever made, it is also the move that defines the character.
Kuroda needs to stop it. He can't be good with everyone otherwise all the other Japanese greats are gonna look bad.
No one dickrode Justin when it came to 3s. Anyone who knew anything about 3s knew that the US couldn't even and still can't sniff Japan's jock in that game. "Let's go Justin!" is a joke chant for someone who's getting beat in Japan because he was 100% free all the times he went. Also, RX, Sugiyama, MOV, Kuroda, J, Boss, and Kokujin are all > Daigo.
Parries in Tekken and VF are nowhere near as good or frequently used as they are in 3s. 3s also has no reliance on sidestepping/sidewalking, mid hitting pokes, high/low crushes, or throw mix-up. 3s plays a lot more like a 2d fighter than a 3d fighter. They share similarities, but are farther apart than you say.
This is sweet and all, and Kuroda is definitely the 3S GOAT, but there's honestly nothing here that I haven't already seen from RX.
RX is the best Urien player of all time. His mastery of the character and the 3S charge system is unparalleled. Aegis setups that look 100% tool assisted.

+1000000000000000
RX is the reason I picked 3S. And yeah, the tool assisted Urien plays more like RX lol. Still couldn't the godly triple Shoulder Rush + EX, but RX is a god in Urien. Kuroda's awesome in Q, can't believe that he's kicking so much ass with that character.
Fujiwara is definitely my pick for best Dudley. Not only is hear near flawless on point, but he uses SA1 90% of the time.
He destroyed Kokujin in the battle for rightful owner of fierce punch pink, and he's totally mindf**ked RX before. Definitely one of the best and insanely fun to watch 3S players ever.
Oh, and don't get me wrong about Kuroda. Saying I've seen this and much more from RX isn't an insult. Not many people (if any) are going to out-shine RX's Urien. Kuroda blows my mind with his Akuma, and although I do enjoy TM's more aggressive style, it was Kuroda that showed me Q.
Can't wait for 3SO!
Kuroda double parried...that right there is beast...
and the fact Kuroda can pick up a character and damn near outshine another top player who mains that character is epic.
RX without a doubt, is the best Urien ever....but Kuroda doesn't even main Urien....
The fact Kuroda picks Ken (SA II) Akuma (SA II?or is it III?) and Q, and beasts with them is amazing...
We've seen Kuroda make a fool out of a lot of players.
and Fujiwara is just a mad man, you don't perfect RX and not be called god like. His Dudley over came Urien, which in my own opinion, is a bad matchup for Dudley since Urien has those tricks.
When these videos cover Kuroda with his skill with Urien. Dang! That's amazing. Now I'm looking forward to 3SO.

they update practically every week.
You need to watch more videos of Kokujin playing 3s then. Kokujin is far and away the best Dudley player. Just because there are videos of Fujiwara beasting on Kokujin doesn't mean he is actually better.
@Shwaffles
Actually parrying all began with Namco's WeaponLord, a 2D fighter on the Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo.
They're not hating on him, they're talking about how people associate all of 3s with one video of him making a chump out of Justin Wong. If you think 3s, almost every casual fan/person who has never played the game will think of that video, and guess who's in that video? Daigo is. Hopefully, the re-re-release of the game will give people a chance to understand what kind of game it really is outside of one unbelievable moment.
Probably the most rewarding sf in terms of skill. I love this game, can't wait for 3so. Dudley and Oro ftw!
@32 You know, the funny thing about that video of Justin and Daigo is that it really was nothing new or special. I've done that in my scrubby days and it's not hard at all. To be honest when you analyze the video real hard, Justin made a bad move. He assumed Daigo wasnt smart or fast enough to parry a random Super Combo. That is why he lost that match. It wasn't even the final match either, and Daigo still beat him.
What was more interesting was the matches before that. Both Daigo and Justin were taunting eachother during the fight after a knockdown. I thought that was more entertaining than the full parry.
So yeah nothing special, but if it was Justin playing Ibuki and Daigo parried her air super, then I might be excited.
Not dissing I still like both players as professionals. Oh and nice to see Ryu fighting instead of Ken in this vid.
Ibuki's super art 1 is extremely easy to parry as long as you get the initial parry. You can literally just mash forward on the stick and get a full parry. The actual difficulty of parrying Chun's SA2 isn't really high if it's telegraphed like how Justin did it, but it was in a huge tournament with a lot of pressure. There's no doubt, that it was a huge miscalculation by Justin, but it's still the defining moment of the series for casual American fans or people who have only heard of the game and never played.
If I was Daigo and I got an untechable knockdown, I'd taunt too. 30% more combo damage is pretty nice.
Daigo has won SBO ONE TIME. Lots of teams have won the tournament, and Daigo won that SBO with Nuki as his teammate. If you're basing who is the best 3s player based on SBO wins, MOV is far and away the best.
who the hell said anything about who is the best 3s player?? can you read?? i said every 3s fan always hates on daigo for no flipping reason, he has done nothing to offend you. and if he is so crap at 3s, why has he won the biggest 3s event in sbo??? with all the gdlike players? it was also 2on2, not 3on3 where u have your team mates to save you. he won the 2 matches in the final, nuki got destroyed. i'd like to see kurado go win sbo in ssf4, he would get slaughtered
Nuki didn't get destroyed. He beat the best Dudley player on the planet and then lost to KO. Watch the video again.
Daigo is a great player, but he is nowhere near any of the other great players when it comes to 3s. He can destroy in ST, A3 and A2, and in SF4, just not in 3. Most people actually don't know that because they know nothing about 3s. Kudos to you for knowing it.
MALDA
the 1st fanboy to incite hate in this discussion.
Darkyellow
my thing isnt whether daigo is/was top or not. my thing is i like 3s, and anytime i go to read something 3s, daigo's name is always, and i mean ALWAYS mentioned in a negative way. what has the guy done to deserve this? when cant i read comments on 3s without having to read people feeling resentful towards daigo. the guy, for a all around 2d gamer has earned all the praise he gets. the stupid parry does not define him, but its sure good enough reason to hate him? who knows
watching a good urien only reminds me of this
http://youtu.be/lLFx8uY6GwY
@49 maybe that's were the hate comes from because he wasn't as hardcore into 3s as the rest and still managed to defeat some of these more dedicated 3s players but this is only a theory.
Waiting for someone to take this out of context...
Don't be mad #48, it's for comedic reasons.
Thumbs down for not taking it lightly Chum

That's the whole point. If you watch Kuroda's DVDs, he uses all characters very "fundamentally" because he's abusing his knowledge of the overall mechanics more so than anything else. RX outshines Kuroda because he specializes in that character, but Kuroda is scary because of his understanding of 3rd Strike. It's apples and oranges, really. Make them do a mirror match any there is no guarantee who would win.
3s... more please ;D
