Thank God someone did this.
This video needed to be made. Akuma's hurricane kick is easily one of the best moves in the game.
I use Magneto's counter and Viper's Focus Attack for dealing with Akuma. Viper's Focus attack is INSANELY broken. I'm surprised no one talks about it, and the way she absorbs a number of attacks.
After watching this video, I wish that it would have just shown what moves punish instead of entire combos.
I just want to know how to punish the move, leave the rest of the combos to me.
Also, @1
I agree how most of these are 3/4 screen away. Most of the time I'm dealing with this move in my face.
Honestly I think it's lag that makes people think Akuma is as powerful as I hear everyone saying. Unlike shotos in Street Fighter his hitboxes are actually very reasonable and consistent, so you really can punch him where his body is and have it work without some invisible forcefield knocking you out of it. This video demonstrates that well.
I feel like the worst tron bone player ever, I never thought to do the fire.
Punishing tatsu pointblank is easy enough if you block. As the video showed, just push block to 2nd hit and you have a lot of options. Still, I agree, Akuma's tatsu is probably one of the most annoying moves.
Wow what a bad video only newbs do it from that far away lol. The easiest way to punish is push block once the second to last hit so when he spins one more time he will land infront of so u can punish it
Does anyone know how to use playbacks in practice mode?
the ranges arent really realistic, from across screen it isnt hard to deal with. Also it looked the bot was only doing the fierce verison. but above all else lag is a big factor when dealing with alot of stuff in this game. I cant count how many times i can see an obivious teleport and still get hit by it.
There are some moves that beat it straight up like the ones shown in the video, but the problem is when he does it from close range.
To counter this you must use push block in order to have enough time to get out of block stun. Its almost punishable by most moves that start with less than 10 frames and have good range if you manage to be out of block stun during the last active frames of the move. At that time he is falling down and unable to block or start doing tatsu again.
From close range block two hits then push block the last hit.
From medium range (first hit wiffs) block one hit and push block the next hit
From long range, well this is easier to deal with
What happens when the full screen tatsu's stop and the fighting begins?
I hate video's like these not because of the author but because of the stupid people that will use the video as a defense for their broken gahbij.
Like those Sentinel videos that showed how "easy" it was to punish sentinel's FP... as long as he never fought back and only spammed it at full screen with no assists or supers...
Or the one showing Phoenix is not broken b/c you can kill her if you block damage her to death with one super bar AND have 3 more super bars left over to activate your level 3 super before she can block again. See? Simple...
@18
sumed it up right there. This vid would hold more water if we saw him online fighting multi akumas in different situations and countering it(i have yet to see online akumas not spam this move).
Problem with this is that most of these punishes start with the Akuma doing his tatsu from like 3/4 screen away. You need something that can reliably punish tatsus done at close range. Good luck finding it bcuz Akuma's tatsu has the best hitbox in-game imo.
