• The Replay Channel has been enhanced. My Channel now enables you to send your favorite replay data to other players.
• The Elite Channel will let people view plays of players with a PP total of 3,000 or more.
• A Replay Follower will be available, allowing you to track well known players. You can find them via a search.
• Support for additional alternative costumes.
• Character balancing tweaks from the Arcade Edition release.
• The titles you pick are now shown in game, along with BP (Battle Points) and PP (Player Points).
• Versus Battles against regular SSFIV players will also be supported, Capcom states "Get out there and duke it out with the version you like best!"

I really hoped for more characters than the four we knew about. I don't really have an interest in playing as any of the four, as I refuse to tier whore or play shoto characters.

Sorry, Marvel 3 is easier than most fighters, but to say it takes absolutely no skill to beat someone who has skill themselves is asinine.
But whatever you say, I respect SSF4 for being a good game, and I respect the people who play it -- I find it a tad annoying and a little frustrating that people segment the community out and try to look down on folks just because they invest in a different game.
Well, that's good for the SSFIV players, I guess. And while the AE DLC still doesn't make the game any more appealing for me to play, it will at least make the game more fun to watch, as the 4 AE characters are the only things interesting to me about this game other than Desk and Excellent Adventures.
Now if only ArcSys would get on the ball and formally announce their BBCS2 DLC already. It's already on portable consoles; the arcades don't have the exclusivity anymore. What's the holdup for home console?

This means you can keep your current main's if they are better in the previous version and still pick the buffed up characters in the next one.

And it is funny that they take the meter building out Rose ( a mid tier character with few agressive options),and nerf her ultra almost making it useless, yet they let yun and yang build meter like it is nothing and give every tool imaginable to them in this version.
Sorry Ono op characters dont make the game better, quite the contrary most players like variety, they like seeing Gamerbee winning with Adon or Luffy winning with Rose.

Once more I have to say you can't compare a VS game to a SF game, some players are more dedicated to one or the other, they do not and have never cancelled each other out. People who dislike Marvel 3 probably don't have fun with it, that's cool don't rain on others parades if they enjoy the game though. I can't wait for AE dlc, but I can't also wait for what's in store for Marvel's future as well.

Well it's good news that it's a DLC and not another disc. I kinda don't want another disc for the same freaking game haha. However, it decreases the chance of having more characters added to the current revealed roster. I'm not ruling it out completely. However, DLC usually means there aren't enough additions or memory to warrant an additional disc. We'll just have to wait and see.

My take is that you can play against SSF4 users with Yun, Yang, Oni and Evil Ryu, but for all the other characters, you gotta stick with the SSF4 version.

You realize by saying you haven't touched SSFIV in months because you just want a stronger Makoto and new characters you are backing up the stereotypes of a Marvel player needing OP characters so they can beat players to stroke their ego and be loud and obnoxious?
SSFIV is a great mental game that, if you know what your looking for isn't slow at all. It may not have constant explosions like Marvel but if that's what you need your missing out on the best part of the fighting genre, the constant strategy.

IF you bought all the gear to play JUST hockey you would be out hundreds of dollars in the least and you still wouldn't get to fight Gretzky. To answer your question I would buy this if it was just balancing. This is the greatest scene of any video game and I would buy any update for any of their games they put out, not because I'm a Capcom whore, but because I love the game and I always want to stay up-to-date.

I forgot to add that means Daigo can switch between Super's Ryu and Yun in tourneys. Or jwong between Rufus and Yang depending what's the match up like. In Tokido's case, he'll play Super's Akuma rather than AE's Akuma since ultra 2 and other buffs are not that big of a deal. Gief players will probably play Super's version because of his change for his EX green hands. Super's Cammy will be the preferred choice b/c of her tiger knee dive kick. I can go on but he know what I'm talking about.

eagle can be played from different SFA3 ports and CVS2,
Rolento, Karin, Maki would rather be a better choice compare to him from gameplay and would really fit from SF4 mechanics
and since they add more 4 male characters into the game and its now becoming a total sausage fest on the roster, so might as well add Elena from SF3S

Well, I think capcom didn't mean this with that whole "choose your SSF4 version" thing.
In fact, I think that when you start the game, you will have the choose between SSF4 or AE. Just like when you start Starcraft with broodwar and it gives you the choice to play the classic version or the expansion. The whole balancing thing would be irrelevent if you could play old and updated characters.
This also confirm that the DLC will cost something as capcom makes SSF4 still playable without it.
Also, this won't kill MvC3 because capcom is going to do what they love to do: ask Ono to troll us for 6 months with tweets and pictures of blanka.

People, it's written "versus battles against regular SSFIV PLAYERS", not "versus battles against regular SSFIV CHARACTERS".
It's not ST's scheme again. It's gonna be like SF2 Turbo for SNES: before playing, you pick the game you want (World Warrior or Hyper Fighting).
In other words, you're still gonna be able to run chocolate SSFIV and play it online with your buddies that didn't buy the DLC pack (yet).

Squid, as I interpret it... Everyone has to download the AE update (similar to that of the costume packs) to play online; with new characters bought or not.

While Capcom makes a lot of money as a company the people who work on those things aren't they have to be paid. B. It's like asking for ST back in the day to be free. A more worthwhile complaint would be why wasn't SSF4 released as it's going to be when DLC comes out.
I find it funny that people who complain about "rehashed characters" forgot about Yun and Yang, which are two completely different and unique characters all on their own. Anyone who disagrees or starts comparing them to Rufus or Gen obviously never played 3rd Strike.

I think you will be able to play against Super-only players. They don't want to force you to buy AE but having you pick between AE and Super characters is a great middle ground that doesn't punish people that don't upgrade.

Sounds pretty lame with the AE vs Super, it should have just been it own seperate game instead of mixing it together and after getting 10 characters in Super, 4 feels abit of a let down considering who we are getting, I would have much prefered to get at least two other completely different characters like say R.Mika and Skullomania just be right obscure.

i think the character tweaks are going to be applied across the board on all versions os Super, reguardless if you buy the DLC or not).

Very interesting. I bet Arcades were promised free updates with the machines so it'll be interesting if they get character unlocks first and if they'll have the super/AE cross-over feature added in soon. Plus, I think that since the machines are online-able they should let the replay channel work in the arcades as well and be viewable on 360 and PS3. Too greedy?

I think a lot of the problems is with Sony and Microsoft not wanting to play nice more than Capcom not wanting to give fans the extra support.
Let's hope the arcade owners get what they paid for because their all nice people who deserve to get the most out of their $3000 dollar investment just as much, and probably more, than we do with our $15 investment.

I don't think that's a worthwhile complain either. It's like complaining because vanilla SF4 wasn't released with all the features and content of AE. Nobody would be willing to wait that long for a game and it makes absolutely no sense to delay a game indefinitely just because you can always add more content to it.

The way it will be is you will either pick V1.0 or V1.1 before you go into character select screen most likely. Just like some other fighting games or like some rts games I've played.

Very interesting, I wonder how this feature will work, ie will an AE guy be able to face-off against a regular guy from SSF4, for instance ?

Entire teams are dedicated to run away and turtling.
Peoples main strategy from the get go is to throw as many objects on screen as possible so you can't get in.
If you are fighting dark phoenix a lot of people decide to just run away the entire match. Literally like 60 seconds worth of running.(I know it usually fails but it's a very popular tactic)
It's just hypocritical to call one game out for turtling when the other is just as bad if not worse.
I can't wait for the AE DLC! Between WWE All Stars and SSFIV AE, I'll be in fighting game heaven this summer!

Oh yeah, I hope all of the DLC alt costumes produced over the last2 years will be included in the AE upgrade, as part of the purchase. That would give the AE DLC a much bigger bang for the buck! :)
@235 What does returning to the scene have to do with what people think of the game? True fighting game fans will try any new fighting game, doesn't mean they like it or will continue playing it. There are very few ST players who still play SSF4/AE. Please tell me ONE ST player that thinks SSF4/AE is a good game (hint: Valle doesn't actually like it).
The fact is that most top players who play SSF4/AE don't like the game. And looking at what Tokido has said, Japan doesn't like AE.

I'm pretty sure that "Go out and fight with version you like best!" means you can choose not to pay for Yun, Yang, E Ryu and Oni, but you'll still get the rebalance patch and so SSF4AE players (who payed for new characters, titles, follower options etc) will be able to fight against SSF4 players (who didn't pay but still got rebalances).
Just to get this out of the way, "Go out and fight which version you like best!" means at the beginning of the game, you choose which version of SSF4 you wanna play. You pick AE, you'll be playing AE with Yun, Yang, Evil Ryu, Oni, and the rebalancing. You pick SSF4, you'll be playing the game that's already out, without a rebalancing patch. That means no AE Ryu vs. SSF4 Ryu. No Yun vs. SSF4 Ryu. No AE vs. SSF4. It's just one or the other. No mixture of the two.

really looks good and i will play but mvc3 is just so fun the amount of things u can come up with its like a fighters paradise to me atleast its super over the top crazy frustrating fun my kind of fighter but i think when this comes out ill give mvc3 a rest and get back in the streets

I'll wait for God knows how long, until the price drops when they have everything available for one AE DLC package.
I'm not supporting Capcom and their "wallet raping" tatics having you buy every single piece of DLC when it's first announced and not it's even fully completed yet. I learned my lesson with "MvC3".
Honestly, I think this is going to kill Super even more than MvC3 did.
If the game is intentionally unbalanced as Ono says (and for once, I believe him), there's no point having tournaments for it, and without tournaments, a fighting game is...pretty screwed.
I thought those European Reportings were for disc based games. Which would prolly be the pc version and or something similar to what Capcom did with resident evil 5 gold edition. Release both dlc and disc versions. Also, I would think the DLC would come much earlier than the disc version. I'm thinking the dlc is gonna be here much sooner than June. The video did say "available now". Ad those acheivements were made 6 months ago.
And for all those people who want even more characters..........you will never be happy! People complained about vanilla not having enough and Capcom listened and gave us 10 characters, stages and mini games. Now people wanna complain about paying for the dlc? Come on, name another company that listens to their community and gives them what they want almost every time? Besides rockband!

I think the way it's going to work is the DLC will be one big expansion pack for around 1600 points and comes with update and at the main menu you choose if you wanna boot SSF4 or SSF4AE the people who don't buy the DLC will not get the AE balance changes and people who update can either choose what version they wanna boot up at the main menu this is my opinion on how i think it will work.
