I piano the same way as Mike Ross, left to right which most players find unnatural (they usually go LP, then HP, MP, LP, HP)

Gouken has become more defensive in Super, mainly I think because his demon flip mixup was nerfed when the DF->Kick was changed to not hit overhead. In vanilla, he could keep the opponent guessing until the last second whether demon flip was going to hit high or low. In Super, the opponent can just crouch block and be safe from both options. A bad change in my opinion.

That said, Gouken has some of the highest damage BnB combos in the game. His punishes are the stuff of legend. Great character.

Gouken just needs an uppercut instead of the face palm. Then he would definitely be a viable tournament caliber character.

I play Gouken, It's true that an Uppercut could help but you can do a lot of damage with the Ex face palm.
ALso I like the counters.
One of his main problem is that he have no good combo that begin with LP or LK (think about boxer ...)

But when you play it on Xbox, you receive a lot of insult message cause of fireballs spawning :)

Dhalsim's fireballs do not recover quickly and that ex hand slap was clearly a mistake he was still holding down back.

Any gouken player that needs an SRK-type move should probably pick someone else.

the only thing that might be good is if gouken had a lp to Palm link.
