Here's a look at some of the interesting things happening in the community.
• Yoshinori Ono said that Capcom is planning an official Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition tournament. This will probably be a Japan only thing, though. He also added that Capcom may be planning arcade edition content for the home consoles, if there are enough requests.
• Nagoya Street Battle 17 is taking place tonight, featuring Justin Wong, Ricky Ortiz and Martin "Marn" Phan. A live stream will be available starting around 7 p.m. PST. Live coverage will be provided here on EventHubs.
• A Fight Club for Marvel vs. Capcom 3 will be held in Chicago today, from 8 to 11 p.m. CST.
• MarkMan mentioned that BitMob is running a contest where they're giving away two of the Chun-Li Tournament Edition FightSticks. It's fairly easy to enter to win these if you're interested.
• SpeedBrkr posted some 8-bit style images of Yun and Yang.
Agree with ARXIN. there has been many topics and conversations among fan sites and if they have any inclination of reading them would sse that many people want this to happen.
Really clueless on their part if they don't see this.
So to quote #1 - REQUEST my ASS?!?! Just do it.
If Capcom really needs requests for this then they can have mine. It's an odd thing to ask for at this point.
Capcom just do it already so i can start kickin a$$ wit makoto
This is why CAPCOM will have a home version of SSFIV Arcade Edition. Here's the deal:
Ono had stated in the past its really expensive to nerf and buff characters, let alone add new characters with a whole new set of moves.
As much as everyone here likes Arcades, they are only real big in Japan (I live in NYC and can only find one arcade in chinatown)
therefore
Capcom is not going to waste tons of money on new content just to have it be used in Japanese tournaments, or in rare to find 25cents Arcade quarter machines.
So, basically, Ono doesnt need any requests, he and Capcom know we want it, and it would be a terrible business failure to NOT give us a home version.
Requests my ASS
All I care about is that I'll be playing it on my PC for christmas. Shame on CAPCOM that I'll have to download an emulator to play it, but they brought it upon themselves.
Whoever had the brilliant decision to release it for arcades while holding back a PC version should be fired. They just lost over a million sales that way.
Maybe it's the Japanese way? the way of the ignorant squirrel!
They know we want it (or else SSF4 wouldn't sell more than they expected :P).
But if they can release it at the same time as the AE then i'd happily pay.
Only thing I need to know now = are there more characters coming or not.
Btw is anyone getting sick of Ono's 'request if you really want it!'-crap?
His clownlike behavior is getting annoying, capcom wants money..we got money..now,help me to help you.
(Need to request it? Fine. Put the Hakan buffs in the final build and I'll buy it. Put Alex/R.Mika in and I'll buy it faster.)
I am very optimistic that we will get these characters via DLC..... now the crappy part.I have a hunch it wont be until April of Next year or so. The arcade machine gets launched in Dec. right? They wont release the dlc until atleast April cuz whats the point of having them exclusive to the arcade machine? Would anyone go to the arcade when they can purchase it online at home? Probably not. I foresee Capcom dragging this out for awhile, just to keep our interests high. I dont care as long as they put in Elena tho !!!!!
@21 Yea , it would make sense seeing how the arcade scene has died down quite considerably in the states. Heres to hoping that we can get them much sooner than I originally thought. Elena FTW lol. Plus, lets see some new stages..
Stone Henge
Easter Island
Time Square / Central Park -New York
Sydney Opera House- Australia
Hot Springs of Japan
Anywhere in Greece...
I know it wont happen, but atleast they would be cool eh?
Ono has to be the biggest troll on the internet...
its gonna happen, no doubts - only question is how much will they charge....everyones gonna get it either way...i know i will, just hope they dont go BlazBlue and charge alot for each individual character
Yoshinori Ono said that Capcom is planning an official Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition tournament. This will probably be a Japan only thing, though. He also added that Capcom may be planning arcade edition content for the home consoles, if there are enough requests.
Why does he continue to lie? We all know it's gonna happen...
if someone makes a petition for arcade content on home consoles, I will sign it. Kind of ridiculous at this point tho, I figured it was a no-brainer to update the console version, you know like the LION'S SHARE of your audience in North America ?!?
@15:
If you're gonna pirate it, then pirate it. But don't bawww about how Capcom are forcing you to pirate, since it's a vicious circle: pirates (such as yourself) are forcing them to protect their copyright. You won't be happy until when they eventually release Street Fighter V and refuse to even release it for the arcade (they were even hesitant about it this time round).
were can i make a request for it. i want it so japanese players and american players are playing on the same thing so when tournaments come up were are on even playing fields
LOL, oh no! I can see it now.... Instead of getting a street fighter, super, turbo, alpha, whatever..... They are just gonna keep releasing a bunch of fighters and charging bucko bucks for it lol........ O.o
Is yoshiniro ono ( i hope i spelled that right) serious??? if enough people are interested they may make console releases of arcade characters and content. Of course i feel strongly saying that most people would even pay for characters being released for arcade as long as it wasnt unreasonably overpriced. Also the patch including the changes for arcade seems like a must to me or else to play in tournaments totally effectively there would have to be a arcade with it nearby. Basicly YES!!! we do want those arcade characters and other arcade content on consoles.
Enough requests my ass. Do it!
