That last one is one of the best setups I've seen in a long time.
No I say baller. SF scrubs say dumb stuff like "YO ChunLi why you so SALTY? DUR DUR DUR"
GDLK reaction. Nice!
And #5 is a Baller for the Chunli statement. LMAO!
i love akuma's super it's just as easy to land as a throw. easier if you know how to kara demon from 3s, even easier now. although i land his super quite often i rarely land my ultra. kara demoning the ultra is useless to me because it has to many startup frames. but the ultra does have invincibility frames so i guess you just have to use it differently.
@Ermac
loltima has a video up that goes into detail about the "Itabashi Slayer," which is canceling Akuma's far HK into demon. It's interesting to see in practice, if nothing else.
@#8/PaiZuri:
How does that work? It's a pretty complicated input. Did somebody come up with some lame trick for it or something?
The real street fighter community has some of the most horrid lingo imaginable. Hearing Sabin say "on blast" says it all.
Onto the video, as a Sagat player I've been hit by so many of those set ups, however never once have I been hit by the dash forward roundhouse into super. That looked crazy
@4 I was never aware using the term "baller" equates to a wannabe thug, granted the term is stupid in reference to Street Fighter but to classify people who say that as a "wannabe thug" is pretty incoherent of you. It's as ridiculous as me stating anyone who uses pwnage and epic failure are a bunch of trend followers with no direction.
Not sure this deserved an entry, there's really noting new to Gouki players (but other players may learn something, I guess) some Super setups where even dangerous.
About Kara Demon (Ultra): it is definitely not worthless, some top players may even be able to do it in tourneys; just look for Infiltration vs Mike Ross @ Evo 2k10.
Most of those were good setups. Some of those could've gone either way though.
@ IrPanda
Nope, it was Infiltration.
I mean, I don't know if JR did a Kara Demon, but I was referring to this:
ok heres the things you trolls dont understand. when you see these set-ups in the training room, its boring yes we know. but when someone can pull these off in a real match, then that becomes interesting. dont bash on the video or the guy who made it. half of you out there dont even probably know how to kara demon...so please keep your troll comments to yourself.
I thought "baller" was just a slang used in basketball that evolved into meaning someone had skills. I used that term a lot when playing ball with friends and I'm pretty sure they're not thugs. Though I do have a friend who did look like 50cent at one time.
@ #21
Personally as a Gully player...I'm forever charging...and any of these setups woulda got a flashy...and usually did get a flashy.
Last minute EX Tatsu's for some hangtime...Bison Teleports to get outta jail...there are plenty of ways to evade the demon.
However...I do agree with #25 that to see these in a big time match or tourney final would absoloutely blow my mind!!
I would like to know the ratio to which these setups succeded over failing though...?
@ #5
You sir...are baller!
@#25
How are they trolling? Most people are saying that these set ups aren't "new and exciting" as the saying goes and it's true. Buffering cr.mk on jump ins/baiting was done back in the vanilla days. The Super demons in the video are more interesting though.
@ 27
Im pretty sure none of these setups could you have landed Guile's flash kick, yes a couple of the anti air demons could have been dodged with Ryu's EX tatsu in the air but no way a Guile could land and do a flash kick in time, he would have already been caught by the demon. With the Supers, unless you did a flash kick before it was activated theres no way you could escape it. And the same goes with Bison's teleport.
I don't get what's so great about this vid as well. Half of them is just catching the opponent while he's landing (and you can't avoid it with an EX air tatsu if you've already thrown an aerial punch/kick). The other half is catching the opponent during their ultra or the opponent failed to jump over the demon. I've jumped over plenty of far standing roundhouse canceling into supers.
@ 30
You jumped over roundhouse supers? That because either a) that opponent did it an incorrect range or b) you knew it was coming and you jumped before the super was activated...the super lands if you didnt jump before the super's start up, its obvious in this video that the opponents couldnt have jumped out because the super was timed correctly..Im sure they all would have been mashing UP instead of standing there.
no ex-demon flip palm-smash into rage or throw canceled flip into rage?
@ 15 CONT
It's not complicated anymore. You LITERALLY just mash the buttons and the direction at the same time.
LP, LP <- Hp Hk is the command you used to have to do, now just...
Mash Lp,<- Hp & Hk over and over and it will come out.
You do a dive kick over them and you know its gonna miss just mash the commands and the demon will auto correct the way you want him to go.
impressive.....should of had a video of this along time ago.....i dont play akuma that much.....el fuerte and blanka user and abuser
@28
i could understand if they said what you said, in a nice manner. but most of the comments are just bashing the poor guy.
read #8 for example. thats just pure trolling at its best, and its not even logical.
@ jjohan35
If you main Akuma then you should know that if the opponent doesnt jump before the super was activated at point blank range then they cant jump out of the way...do you really think the opponents in this video who got caught by the roundhouse super didnt attempt to jump away? and that they just stood there? lol its a legitmate setup, go watch someone like JR Rodriguez he uses it alot...theres videos of him catching Alex Valle with that setup a few times, you think someone like Valle didnt even attempt to jump?
@ rudiano
I'm not entirely sure I'm getting your explanation. I'm doing it in training mode right now. Whether it's a close standing roundhouse or far standing roundhouse, the opponent can jump straight up and avoid the Super while Akuma is pushing against him. How does Akuma in the video avoid pushing the opponent halfway across the screen while executing his Super/Ultra?
wheres zangiefs cape & GOLD BELT......... that would b awesome
@ rudiano
"Right even when you have been baited into a demon setup you can still land a flash kick lol what a damn noob..."
Demon flip = Gully Crouching HP...trade into Super or Ultra
NO ONE is talking about demon flips...NOOB!!
You do know that Gully can charge while in the air...right?
ya know...kinda like buffering a Demon...duuuur
...idiot.
@ 42
It's trollin because it's illogical?
Do you play Akuma? Do you know about Shourtcuts?
There! now look at the comment again!
And then read your 1st sentence and talk to me about illogical!
"If u know what I mean and mean the mean it's mean...poor guy"
@ draw2
Are you retarded? When did I mention demon flip huh? Try to read the post properly before posting...man you sure are stupid and clearly know nothing about Akuma's Ultra and its setups, it can be used as an anti air if timed correctly to catch the opponent, yes if timed correctly the opponent cant do a f*cking flash kick when they land or mash ex shoryu etc because of the jumps recovery, go learn scrub
Now if only Akuma had 1000 HP instead of 850 then he would definitely be the Top character in the game no doubt! Oh well, I guess you can't have em all.
@ rudiano
My mistake loser...you didn't clarify which Demon e.g. Raging Demon, Wrath of the Raging Demon, or Demon Flip.
You are correct in saying that I know nothing about Akuma's ultra setup etc...but incorrect to assume I don't know the match up and what does beat Akuma in terms of Guiles execution on reversals.
I'm ready to play your Akuma anytime...
XBL Gamertag = B BOY DRAW2
I'm not saying I'll %100 win or lose...but in the name of putting these theories to the test...mission start ;)
Baller Setups.
