If you were hoping you'd hear about more Marvel vs. Capcom 3 characters being announced soon, Capcom Europe threw a bit of a wet blanket on that idea today via Twitter. Here's what they had to say.
Will there be any new MVC3 character announcement at the EuroGamer Expo? If not, when will be the next?
Capcom Europe: I think the next announcements are next month (October).
capcom needs to cut the bull and just put in every single capcom character ever and every single relevant marvel character in the past 20 years and put every snk character in and just release this game in 2018 as a launch title for ps4. and call it marvel vs capcom vs snk 3: Ultimate omfg edition.
this way they can finish the trilogy for both marvel and snk at once and give the fans everybody to choose from

Point is...There is no point at listening to the fans for things because in reality, they dont know what they really need!
Nor are they thinking about the company's time&money!
While we wait for new characters, i wouldn't mind hearing the character themes. Spider mans sounds so good.

I have noticed that you almost always have something like this to say, just for the sake of busting someone else's chops.
In all fairness, I agree with some of what you've said, but you can't dismiss what other people want, on an individual basis. People usually DO know what they WANT, but what they "need" is irrelevant AND relative. What people may "need" is to get off of their butts and get jobs or finish up high school or college, and even seriously ponder what the hell they want to do with the rest of their respective lives.
-But I'm pretty sure that when it comes to what people WANT for a game that they're expected to PAY full retail for, from ANY developer (In the case, Capcom), they can WANT all they WANT.
Sure, people in hell may want ice water, but hey - they want what they want.
I would LOVE to see a SF game with EVERY SF character ever made, or a versus series game with EVERY Capcom character matched against an equal or freater amount of Marvel characters for a future fighting game.
I also know that it would take up an epic amount of time, money, resources, and a buttload of game/character mechanics balancing for such a huge demand to be anywhere near "met". Developers' shoes are quite the footwear to fill when it comes to such grand ideas, but it's NOT impossible. -Just VERY impractical from too many angles.
Don't forget ONE small detail, though.
The customer is ULTIMATELY ANY company's boss.
It is THE customer who ultimately decides whether or not YOUR company's product or service is worth shelling out the cash for.
The customers pay what becomes the very wages that the company's employees even make.
As much as people b*tch and moan over what they love and hate and want and do not want in ANY Capcom fighting game, they will all still buy AND play such games and STILL complain and b*tch some more, even months or even years down the road.
In MVC2, I always felt that a SECOND friggin' Wolverine was a HUGE waste of a character slot, and Kobun/Servbot, WHILE a cool, funny character, is kind of a waste, as well.
-Especially when some more intersting characters could've been included in their respective places.
Hell, I have ALWAYS wanted to see what Sagat, Guy, Rolento, Birdie, T.Hawk, a Tyrant or Nemesis, and Gouken would look like in a versus series game.
If Sagat's super fireball was proportionately larger than Ryu's in the SFZ game series, I wanted to see how huge of a beam Sagat would have in a versus game, compared to Ryu's.
Think about how awesome THAT sounds for JUST a teensy weensy minute...
Now, just think of how justified I feel for even WANTING such a thing in a game.
It may be something I'll always have to just wish for and dream abaout, but I have the right to want and even ask for it.
As much as Cyclops annoyed me with his flip kicks in past versus games, I REALLY want to see what he'd look like if included in MVC3.
Oh, and it's just my opinion, but to ME, I NEVER liked the idea of not having the three main "shotos" in he same versus game.
TVC only did the Ryu and Chun Li deal, leaving out Ken and Gouki. I hate how they're doing the same thing in MVC3.
For people who feel that EVERYONE plays JUST Ryu/Ken all the time, I feel your pain. -But I at least want to have them there, just in case I feel like playing a shoto OTHER than Japan's number one son all the friggin' time.
I wouldn't mind if they made all three characters into one, like how they did with MVC1, as long as I could start off with whichever shoto "mode" I wanted, and as long as they'd actually make the character model different to reflect the character you're playing, rather than dark skin for "Gouki", etc.
Nah... Now that I think about it, that character would be OP as hell. It'd be kind of like playing five characters when you have two other characters teamed with that kind of Ryu. -Especially if you could start the match with any of the three modes. lol
-Then again, I WANT giant characters, like how they have in TVC.
Oh, and I WANT my Juggernaut back!

About the Ryu Quick-Change...I guess that was easier then than now! It would be WAY COOL to see Ryu do that in 3D!

At the end of the day Capcom knows everybody wants everything, but they cant. Look at SF4. Did it matter in the end? NOPE! It sold VERY well for Capcom!

P.S. Im still amazed how Tekken6 got all of those moves, characters and costumes in one game!

K, look I have been BEGGING for Okami to be in MvC3 BEFORE it was announced and gave reasons why Capcom should other than I personally want it. And they put her in!
There was another person who fit the game well but I was a little late with that request.

#13 This is my guess according to the themes Capcom has been doing;like for instance Spider Man had big publicity in September from 2 companies and I knew Wesker was going to be announced because Resident Evil After Life came out, that's a way of marketing that character and perfect time to show him. These are my guesses. Arthur, She-Hulk, The Crazy Marvel Character Seth Spoke of, and Frank West. Arthur and Frank West fit the Halloween Theme for the month of October.

Birdie & PaiZuri: They're not going to be having Quick Change Ryu in this one, because they'll have to model each character, & that will take too much work. If they do that, they might as well have both Ken & Akuma in, but they're not going to be in because they both play too similar to Ryu.

I think one shoto is enough, in this series of games you need variety.
And, about Cyclops. Guy's, he need's to be included...Not, HE BE INCLUDED. Forget your mix about weirds characters like M.O.D.O.K (the most stupid comment i ever seen). There's too many chars for both sides than can make happy to the public. Play the game, and be happy with we have.
